Beautiful location - right on Lake Victoria and hand for Mwanza. , Fine accommodation set amongst the trees. Staff and service were excellent and the owner really looked after us. Highly recommended for birdwatching.

It truly was serene... peaceful and very relaxing. A lovely warm swimming pool and loungers and a restaurant overlooking the lake at lunchtime. Look out for the many birds, hippos near the shore and local fishermen. A beautiful place to watch the sunset from. The rooms and bathrooms were iextremely spacious and provided everything needed. Beds were lush with crispy sheets and comfortable mattresses and pillows. The food and staff were excellent :) Peacocks are resident here and wander around the grounds. I loved my time here and was sad we only had the one day to savour the place.

Stayed two nights as part of a tour for free day after Tanzania safari and before last Kenya safari. The group was of 7 people and we had the resort to ourselves. The pontoon shown in photos is no longer there as it got washed away with the floods of a couple of years ago and has yet to be replaced Although situated on Lake Victoria (largest freshwater lake in Africa and 2nd largest in Africa is bordered by Uganda ,Kenya and Tanzania) one cannot really enjoy the lake as inhabited by hippos which I did observe returning to the lake after grazing on the shore also a monitor lizard patrols the so called beach. The grounds are meticulously looked after with peacocks strutting their stuff I personally had nor seen a white one till now. The room that I had was very spacious with nets to keep the mossies at bay but no air con only a ceiling and desk fan which can be a bit inhibited when very humid. Hotwater is governed by solar and must be switched on prior to use. Plenty of toiletries. Two bottles of water provided at room temperature no refrigeration. Tea making facilities in room bed very comfortable One can book activities like canoeing on the lake going fishing on the lake as one of the attentive personal will accompany you The grounds also have a pool more of a wading depth and one can take a nature walk around the compound else next to nothing to do. It is a wellness centre with spa facilities provided but best book in advance and at a cost Mocktales a bit expensive at $US 8 compared to a beer at $US 4 Meals are plentiful and staff always attentive although the language barrier is present . There is a separate lounge area for TV watching if this is your thing with WiFi only available in the main reception area and restaurant (different passwords) .The gift shop has definitely seen better days . Personally not my cup of tea so to speak but an enjoyable stay none the less The sunset and rise if lucky enough to see is worth waiting for

An excellent place to stay for a short while. The grounds are excellent, the rooms good and the food ample. However, there may be language difficulties. Although situated on Lake Victoria, the only way to see the lake from the grounds is only adequate.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. Nothing to do outside of resort. Cottages spacious and clean. My glass sliding door had a large crack in it and held together with tape. Very dangerous. Sliding fly wire door jammed and couldn't be opened. Fly wire screens didn't fit the windows hence hundreds of bugs in my room. Sitting by the pool and once again engulfed by a swarm of bugs brought about by a gust of wind. There is no pier or pontoon you can walk or have dinner on. They need to change the photo as it is misleading. Other side, staff in restaurant excellent. Enjoyed the food. Gardens lovely. Reception area lovely to sit and watch the birds in the garden while having a coffee. Needs a lot of work done to bring it up to speed.

We spent one evening at this beautiful, secluded, lavishly landscaped property. The individual cottages/rooms were spacious, clean, artfully decorated and comfortable. The outdoor area for gazing at the lake and for viewing the sunset was terrific. The dining was delicious (perhaps a new chef is at the helm based on the comments of others) offering a range of well prepared Indian and African cuisine. The staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

This was supposed to be the luxury rest day on our tour. At first sight it looked amazing but the gloss soon faded when I went to my room. The curtains were stained and dirty and the room wasnt as clean as it could have been. This was the only place that we stayed where our group wasnt welcomed by the manager and checked in on during our stay ,which was surprising as we were the only guests. The only time that that the person who we assumed was in charge showed any interest to our group was when we were checking out and settling our accounts. The food was average and the single glass wine undrinkable. It was a pity because the location and rooms are amazing The staff were fantastic ,very friendly and helpful, it just felt like the place was lacking leadership.

Stayed just one night as part of a 2 week safari tour. The room was spacious, I was a single person and was in awe of the size of the bed and the room, it was really, really big.... Pool was great with a splendid view over Lake Victoria. Love the peacocks roaming around the place, but they can be a little noisy at night. Great picture opportunity at sunset for some amazing pictures! The biggest disappointment was the food. Both buffef breakfast and dinner was very disappointing. The lunchbox we got for lunch on the road was just mediocre. Staff very professional.

This is a special place in a lovely location. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the gardens were pretty. We did not sleep well because the peacocks woke us in early hours. The food was disappointing with little choices. Pasta lunches were poor and they ran out of milk at breakfast. Perhaps the hotel hasn't been able to "get back into gear" after lack of visitors during Covid - I hope that management can improve food because then it would be a great place to stay.

We stayed here for 1 night to break up our safari trip between Kenya and Tanzania and it was incredible. They knew we were on our honeymoon and made our dining experience very special and even made a cake for us. The spa service was amazing, the pool was great and the view of the lake incredible. The food and room were great, Wi-Fi in the room and hot water in the showers. Would highly recommend (just be prepared for the peacocks in the morning!)
