11 of us stayed for a long weekend, both houses were immaculate, the beds were clean and comfortable. We made use of the hottubs (despite the snow, which made the underfloor heating and wood fire welcome additions!!). Only issues were the water went off on the first night but

We booked 'The Byre' for my friends birthday at the end of January for a weekend. The cottage was nice and spacious, ideal for the 6 of us. We did contact the main reception a couple of times as the hot tub didnt work when we 1st arrived and wasnt heating up a couple of times.

Dear Louise M. I am really sorry to hear of your misfortunes whilst you stayed with us at Cairnton Farm. I'm not entirely sure what to say, but we believe in responding to all tripadvisor reviews. Yes your 'Hot tub' had 'tripped' its electrical circuit, which I remedied within an hour of you calling our office. Our 'Hot tubs' do not have a heating element, instead they use the excess heat from the pump to keep up to temperature. I like this efficient use of energy, but it does mean that when used for an extensive period, they do lose temperature, and it takes a wee while to get back to the ideal 39/40 degrees. Our WiFi is normally pretty good, but obviously on this occasion not up to the volume of traffic required. I am sorry, and can only ask that our guests appreciate that in rural Aberdeenshire, access to the web may be not what they might be used to in the city. Finally, I am extremely sorry about the spots. The laundry is kept in a sealed room, housed in the old steading, but I'd be most surprised if any contamination had occurred. Our guests should be aware that Cairnton is a working farm, and there are animals and hay and whatever else to be found, but not on the laundry! I can only assume, that the chemicals used by our local laundry or maybe the chemicals used in the hot tub water did not agree with your skin. This has never happened before, but we'll obviously look into the matter. All that remains is for me to thank you for your feedback, both good and not so good, and that the experience might not put you off visiting us again. Yours sincerely Ken Howie Cairnton Farm
