Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ideally situated hotel for visiting Edingburgh easily accessible. 2o mins drive to Edinburgh zoo . Short drive to Rosyth station then 30 min train into Waverly station or 20 min drive to free park and ride then tram or bus into city center. Short drive to Falkirk for Kelpies and lots more. Secure barrier parking

Lovely small hotel in Rosyth. Rooms are quite small but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Had dinner in the restaurant which was really good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning was superb and all staff very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

A visit for an evening dinner function. Smooth check in, clean and tidy room which was not the biggest but a bed is all you need to get a decent nights sleep which we had in a large comfy and spacious bed. Clean and spacious bathroom with shower. The Burns Supper was served in the function room was which was lovely, served by efficient friendly staff. Breakfast in the morning was walk to the same standard and was plenty for me as you got what you asked for.. sausages if that’s your thing we’re lovely.! Only small and I mean small jiggle was the fact that the Tea, coffee, toast and cereal where in an adjoining room, no great issue but a little bit of an inconvenience when suffering with a slight hangover haha. All in all very pleasant clean and tidy with lovely staff. Should I need to re visit for any other reason this is where I’d happily stay.

I visited today to have lunch with my 87 yr old mum, her gran daughter and great grandson. The car park was an ice rink with black ice. My mother is in a wheelchair and the wheelchair ramp was solid black ice. We were slipping about trying not to fall pushing her wheelchair up the ramp. When we got in I went to reception, no one was there and someone came from the direction of the lounge. I explained to her that the ramp was extremely dangerous and should be gritted as we had to take her back out again after lunch. She said 'I'm afraid we are waiting for it coming in, we don't have any' I advised there were council grit boxes near by (about a 2 minute walk) which she just dismissed and said there was nothing they could do. Even if she had got some salt from the kitchen it would have been better than dismissing it when it is clearly a health and safety issue. The seriousness of a ramp with black ice on it and not caring about the potential of someone disabled ♿ or even able bodied who could fall and seriously hurt themselves when the danger had been pointed out. Shocking attitude!

The room was excellent, nice quality and very clean! The dinner / breakfast in the restaurant was superb and large portions for the value. More importantly, the staff were beyond friendly and professional. Will stay again.

The hotel all in all was fine and would have been worth the money, if it wasn't for the wedding that was held on one of the nights we were there. There is virtually no sound proofing in the rooms so you could here everything happening outside your door and the music from the wedding downstairs. So on that night, I did not sleep well. I completely understand having functions at a hotel, but it would've made it a whole lot better if they had some considerations for other guests, like ear plugs (they didn't have any, even when I asked), or just let us know that it would be happening. From other reviews, they should know about their lack of sound proofing in their rooms, yet did nothing about it. It would've been a fine stay otherwise.

Stayed in room 9 lovely room ( great shower too ! ) in a beautiful wee hotel a stones throw from queensferry . All staff were welcoming and friendly and are to be commended for their customer service. Food at the restaurant Mackenzie’s was outstanding value at under £10 for main courses and amazing quality . Breakfast was included in price and a cooked breakfast served to you is always a bonus . Help yourself to drinks , cereals, yoghurts , fruit and toast . Would definitely recommend !

I live in this area and have used this restaurant many times and have always found the staff very helpful and accommodating to any dietary needs. And a good choice of great wholesome food! And since opening again since the COVID 19 closure, the extra care taken is exactly as it should be. Ensuring you use the sanitisers provided, staff wearing masks or face shields and no music playing and every care taken. I think it’s brilliant! I can’t comment on the hotel as I’ve never stayed here.
