Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely break with Christine, Otis and Cookie. Our dogs are 12 and 11 and a half so this year we decided not to travel abroad and have the dogs put into kennels but to have a holiday where we could take the boys with us. Hill House was absolutely great.....my husband had his mountain bike with us so managed to go biking in fantastic scenery for hours while I had several short walks.with the dogs and sat reading in the garden. Most afternoons were spent with a glass of red wine with lovely hot fresh bread from the local Spar in Cannich. We were extremely lucky with the weather, really hot and sunny with NO midgies but I don’t know if the midgie shortage was just our luck? Christine is very knowledgeable about the area and has lots of very entertaining stories of her life. She is a lovely person and extremely helpfull. The accommodation was pretty, peaceful, clean and had everything you needed and I would recommend giving Christine a call!!!! Christine' Graeme, Woody and Levi

The cottage is ideal for exploring beautiful Glen Afric and Loch Ness. It is well equipped and the owner, Christine, who lives next door is very helpful and friendly. Several nice eateries fairly ( relatively speaking) close by ( took us a while as living near London everything is close by. Weather was quite cool but just right for walking.

I stayed with my son in this property for a weekend and had a fabulous time. Christine couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The location is beautiful as is the property. The apartment is very clean, fresh and kept immaculate. The beds are very comfortable also. I will definitely return to stay with Christine again as I highly enjoyed myself as did my son. 👌👍 Thanks again Christine

Very nice open plan self catering accommodation, with a great host. Christine Noble was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The area is spoilt for amazing walks, through some of the most inaccessible glens in the Scottish Highlands....Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. The area is actually very good for exploring traditional tourist hotspots like Urquhart Castle and surrounding Loch Ness, although with the bonus that Hill house is tucked away in its own glen, far enough to enjoy the peace away from the busy crowds.

Stayed here with my husband in March 2017. The cottage is lovely and is very comfortable. No double beds in cottage however there is a sofa bed in the lounge which we used and was comfortable. Will definitely return. Wifi poor in the area

My wife & I stayed at this delightful little cottage in Cannich. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owner, Mrs Noble is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Otis & Cookie (the dogs) are lovely and we enjoyed saying hello to them most mornings! We even encountered a little frog in the front room that must have got in when we had the patio door open to enjoy the evening sunshine....would definitely recommend and it is in an ideal location for exploring the highlands.....Unfortunately we had to leave early due to an issue at home however Mrs Noble completely understood and was very helpful and supportive to us before we left. Will look forward to seeing you in the future.

First time in the Highlands and won't be our last. Christine is the perfect host. Excellent clean accommodation that had everything we needed. Very homely and Christine's 2 dogs Otis and Cookie were great company for our dog and the kids loved them. Beautiful scenery and lots of great walks. Local Spar a 5 min drive away and run by a very friendly Australian couple. Great all round family getaway.

Arrived to a friendly host, and very friendly pet dogs. The view from the sliding doors out to a table and chairs on the lawn was very beautiful. The accommodation comprised of a twin bedded room, and a futon double bed in the living room/kitchen. We had a very enjoyable stay, made more agreeable by our hostess. I have only 2 minor comments: 1. The futon was very uncomfortable, and would be better replaced with a pull down sofa bed; and 2. The only shower was a rubber shower hose connected to the hot and cold taps, and would benefit from a not expensive electrical shower. I make these 2 points and still award 4 Stars as overall our weeks stay was very enjoyable indeed, and we will certainly be returning there in the future. Simon and Mhairi Tyas
