Stayed in Isla. Was great accommodation and loved the location. Very private and quiet. Pool was an added bonus. Loved seeing the cows on the way in and out. Area great for sightseeing. Easy to find and not too far from shops etc. If we were ever here again would love to return

Excellent stay. Accommodation was spacious and clean and we enjoyed the pool facilities as well as the private location. The only negative was the poor internet connection and the scalding water in the lodge making it difficult to shower. Although reported it wasn't dealt with. Consequently, had to use pool shower as an alternative

Wow, what an amazing place. Stayed in Lethnot Broche and it’s fantastic. It was something different and felt very luxurious. Very clean and tidy. Views were the best I’ve ever had waking up in a morning and looking out the bedroom windows at the highland cows. Loved the extra little touches such as complimentary wine and chocolate, bathrobes and soap and shampoo. The pool and jacuzzi were great. Used it every day and was the kids favourite part of the holiday. Only slight negative was the wood fired hot tub outside our broche. Personally prefer electric hot tubs that you can jump in whenever you feel like it instead of waiting for it to heat up. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I am not one for writing reviews but really enjoyed our stay here so much that I thought it was worth sharing. We stayed in No.2 Cottage, my Wife, 7 yo daughter and myself. The Cottage itself is done to a high spec and had everything we needed for the long weekend stay including plenty of firewood and fire lighters. Beds were extremely cosy and even with a group next door, we had no noise at all - you still feel in the middle of nowehere. Only comment on the cottage would be that the sitting area could be slightly comfier with more sofa space but we spent so much time out and about or in the hot tub that it didnt matter too much. For a week stay, it might be different. The swimming pool was superb. By being able to secure a 1.5 hour slot for personal use, we have great fun, were able to relax and enjoy the stunning view without any interuption. Location was perfectly sandwiched between Forfar and Brechin so never far from amenities if really required and its a great starting off point for the Angus coast. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Stayed in No1 cottage with my 2 boys age 6/8 , husband and our dog. Well what can I say the place is fantastic. The cottage is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The hot tub fantastic with the most beautiful view. The pool is lovely and warm which with current electricity costs in Uk we were concerned it would be cold and ruin the experience for us but nope it’s perfectly warm. Another great point was when we arrived at cottage on a dreary October day the cottage was lovely and warm inside. Wine, chocolate and chips on our arrival too which was a nice touch from owners. We have had a fantastic stay here and most definitely will be returning. Highly recommend Balbinny, it will not disappoint

We stayed as a group of 4 adults and 2 babies - really enjoyed the location and amenities. The accommodation is really high quality (we stayed in Clova), very comfortable and well kitted out, extremely clean. The view is great and lots to do in the vicinity for wee ones and adults. Fab pool and very quiet, would definitely stay again.

Clova was lovely - very clean, modern, amazing views (kids loved having the Highland Coos right on their doorstep)! The gym and swimming pool were great amenities to have onsite. The owners were very quick to respond to any queries we had. The only negative is that the bedrooms are quite small. As a family of five with three teenagers, the second bedroom was a bit of a squeeze with two twin beds pushed together and a blow up bed down the side. There is lots of living space in the main area upstairs and if there had been a double sofa bed in the living room that would have been ideal for us. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed in No 1 cottage at Balbinny, and after reading other reviews, we were disappointed when we arrived at our accommodation. The larger bedroom in particular was not attractive, it looked as though someone had taken a load of old pallets and fashioned a wall with them, no bedside tables and some odd lamps hanging from the ceiling. The mattress was rock hard, totally uncomfortable. The smaller bedroom had no hanging space for clothes, and no drawers. There was no coffee table in the living area, and we had to re-arrange the furniture in order for us to sit comfortably, particularly the dining table which was pressed against the radiator making it impossible for four people to sit around it. The kitchen was well equipped, and we loved the wine fridge, but it was woefully short of glasses, one wine glass, one water glass per person, but only two flutes, I imagine if four people wanted to have a glass of prosecco they would have to share! We didn't have the best of weather, which is probably just as well as the owners had only provided two plastic chairs outside. On the plus side the pool, which is the main reason we booked Balbinny, was really nice, and being able to book a slot to ourselves was a real bonus. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We had lovely views out over the countryside, and everything was very clean and tidy and obviously well looked after, just a pity there seemed to be a lack of attention to detail in the cottage.

Balbinny is fabulous, the second time we have stayed, this time in one of the Brochs, and we were even more impressed from the first time. A perfect week over Christmas to unwind, explore the countryside, and enjoy a breakaway. David was quick to assist with any requests or help, a great place to stay we highly recommend it.

After over a year it was wonderful to spend time with all my grandchildren. We took three cottages which worked well for us all as we had an age range from 76 years to 2 months! It was child friendly and safe and we all loved the swimming pool. My 2 year old grandson went into the water for the first time. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return before too long.
