Although not set in an outstandingly scenic location the Drumquin was an excellent place to stay. It is conveniently located to explore many areas of Shetland. The inside was spotlessly clean and well appointed whilst retaining a friendly and homely feel. The food was really well cooked with a good choice. The staff were all really friendly and Robert the host and owner was very helpful, professional and a very good cook! There was a good choice of drinks which were served in the lounge and at the table. I would certainly recommend this place to people who are walking or driving exploring the islands.

We were thoroughly looking forward to our first holiday in Shetland, and we were not disappointed. We had booked into the Drumquin Guest House at Brae a former Victorian Schoolhouse roughly 25 minutes drive from Lerwick and it was an excellent choice. We received a warm welcome from Leslie one of the owners and he took the time to explain the service they provide and showed us to our room. Our room was very comfortable, excellent shower so powerful , nice selection tea, coffee, biscuits, hairdryer, tv, toiletries and Wi-Fi, Iron and Ironing board available if required. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before which suited us perfectly and their was a lovely choice, something for everyone, be warned the traditional breakfast is excellent but huge so not for the faint hearted. The evening menu was first class , serving a superb selection of dishes and I can thoroughly recommend the Sticky Toffee pudding, being a Licensed establishment you can choose from a wide selection of Alcoholic beverages. Robert and Leslie took the time and effort to get to know their clients and provided useful information about the island and places of interest to visit. We had such a lovely time at Drumquin, and would have no hesitation in recommending staying here, your hosts, the food and location all make for a fabulous vacation.

When we booked our trip to Shetland we could not have got off to a worst start. First Covid then the hotel we originally booked burnt down. We came across the Drumquin Guest House and instantly we knew it was for us. We arrived in the rain and although it was bleak outside a warm welcome awaited us. We were instantly put at ease and the dinner we had on that first night was excellent and they only cater for residents due to the current conditions means that you get great service. The following morning we had breakfast everything cooked to order using the best local ingredients, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was exceptional clean and comfortable with all the amenities that you could ask for and if it wasn't there then it could be supplied. All the staff Robert ,Leslie and Isobel gave great tips on where to go and what to see and were very knowledgeable about their Island. We travel all over the Island and found this a very good base to explore from. Thank you for making us feel most welcome. If you want somewhere to stay for a few nights while travelling around Shetland we can whole-hearted recommend this place

A boutique hotel in its true sense. We spent three nights at the Drumquin Guest House as part of a tour of Shetland. The rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and stylish. Brae is a perfect location to explore the north part of the island. Breakfasts were wonderful and I would highly recommend the Scottish breakfast. We had dinner at Drumquin on our last night and wished we had eaten there on all our nights. The food was wonderfully presented, generous portions and delicious. Would highly recommend the steamed halibut…. Thank you for a wonderful stay. ps. very fast wifi

From the moment we appeared at the door of Drumquin my girlfriend and I were afforded the warmest of welcomes by Leslie and Robert. Arriving by bike after a tiring day we were delighted to find our room was immaculate, cosy and with truly the most powerful shower ever experienced. Over the next few days we used Drumquin as a base from which to explore nearby Muckle Roe, as well as Yell, Unst, Northmavine and the Northern Mainland, for which it is perfectly located. The breakfast menu was both varied and substantial and we also ate dinner one night; a great decision as again the quality and quantity were excellent from an interesting menu of mostly local produce. Over and above this, our hosts went the extra yard at every opportunity to help make our visit a pleasant and stress-free one and we enjoyed chatting with them in passing and hearing their advice on the local area and useful contacts to enhance our holiday. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
