Jen and Mike are superb hosts. We have loved staying at High Oatfield- our lovely large room felt like a home from home. Breakfast was high quality and brought to our room, and we loved watching the wildlife from our window. This more than lived up to our expectations. Thank you Jen and Mike.

This stunning location on Mull has everything! The bedrooms are spacious, light and very well equipped and the views are second to none as are the breakfasts! Mike and Jen are extremely hospitable and welcoming and full of local knowledge about life on Mull, especially the wildlife. We saw eagles and red deer from the bedroom window and myriads of garden birds on the feeders. They directed us to the right spot for seeing otters and advised about eating out in the evenings. Sadly we didn't know that Jen was happy to prepare picnics for us until almost too late, but we did enjoy one on the last day! Thank you both for making our stay so enjoyable - we will be back!

Fantastic large room watched over by a White Tailed Eagle in the day and Red Deer in the evening and early morning. Thought I'd miss a cooked breakfast but no the healthy alternative was delicious and filling. Well placed for all main locations on Mull which has a great deal to offer the photographer and birdwatcher. But don't take my word for it come and visit and enjoy all it has to offer.

This is our third stay with Jen and Mike and we loved every minute of it. Lovely, large comfortable room with beautiful views. The breakfasts were excellent and Jen & Mike are amazing hosts. Very friendly and completely immersed in life on Mull and so a very handy source of information. And of course ideally suited for Driving round Mull. We'll be back again! :-)

The big room was very pleasant indeed, with facility to enjoy breakfast with a view over the fields to the mountains. Mike and Jenny made us very welcome. We were able to see most of Mull easily from here, and the ferry was a short drive away. I would recommend this as a base.

We stayed in nine B & B's during our 2 week trip to Scotland. High Oatfield, our last stop for 4 nights, is our overall favourite. We had a very large room with all the amenities you could want, including a small table and chairs for eating your delicious pre-ordered and delivered to the door breakfast! It was so nice to sit comfortably in our own room enjoying the food and planning our day while looking out the window onto the pasture and hills. The bed was actually very comfortable, the shower had lots of hot water, and the decor is light, clean, and functional. There is a selection of reading books and much information about visiting Mull. Each morning as we set out, Mike and Jen liked to hear where we were planning to go and gave us good advice about what to do or not to do. The location in Lochdon worked well as a base for exploring the island as long as you remembered that your closest evening meal options were limited to the Pub or Spar in Craignure. Mike and Jen are wonderful hosts with lots of interesting stories and information to share to make your visit to Mull enjoyable and easy.…

We loved our stay at High Oatfield. The room was lovely and the breakfast was delicious! It was a bit different eating in our room but we really liked it. Looking out our window we could see Highland Cows and sheep. The location was excellent for touring Mull as it is right in the middle of the island and near the ferry. The owners were wonderful and full of helpful information. They were quite fun to talk to also. Would love to return someday for another visit.

Our room was large, clean, comfortable and had a fantastic view from the window. There was plenty of wildlife to keep us entertained from the B&B which is well located on Mull. From the B&B we did a day trip to Iona (about an hour to the ferry), drove to Tobermory (45 minutes) and also walked up Ben More (about 25 minutes away). Each day we would come back to find a cake waiting for us. Breakfast in the room worked well and was tasty, fresh and punctual. Mike and Jen were friendly and very helpful with tips on where to go to see wildlife, places to eat and nice walks. There is also a wealth of literature on wildlife and walks in the room. The dogs have been mentioned in other reviews but if you don't like dogs that is no problem - the owners keep them away from you. This B&B was excellent and we would recommend a stay.…

If the reason for travelling is a genuine experience of peace and tranquility in a breathtaking nature, then High Oatfield is the place to stay. I have never, ever stayed in a B & B which have made such a strong impression on me. In my opinion this place is absolutely unique, but that must be said about the hosts Jen and Mike as well. You don't notice they are there, but they are actually present all the time. One should look long for the care and warmth they show. They are reflected, and has a lot of knowledge of the area and life in general. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and charmingly decorated. The cleaning was impeccable and every morning we were served a tasty, healthy and varied breakfast. The fruit salad was a winner, but we were also served tastefully pastries every afternoon made by Jen! The evening mood from the window pointing north towards Dun da Ghaoithe and the rest of the picturesque landscape is magical (especially if the sunlight hits the mountains). The location of High Oatfield B & B is typical for those who like being as close to nature as possible, and the place invites you to use all of your senses to get the most of your stay. Nevertheless, we found that the location is central enough for a drive to Craignure, Bunessan, Salen or Tobermory in order to enjoy a hot meal, it just requires some planning. It's with enthusiasm, as a field ornithologist, I see how Mike and Jen take care of the birds at the property. Apropos birds, If you are using the senses, it is not difficult to observe 20+ bird species during breakfast, as well as chances of seeing deer is always present. I will also like to thank Mike for taking the time to "introduce" me to the barnowls for the first time in my life, epic! For those of you who find the way to the magnificent scenery in Isle of Mull, stay at High Oatfield B & B, it's a true privilege! We will definitely return to High Oatfield next year.…
