Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s the best description I can give the chalet, it felt warm, welcoming and homely as soon as we entered the door. It’s located in a perfect position for exploring the stunning Trotternish peninsular and within a short drive to Portree with all it’s shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. The main window in the chalet faces west overlooking the loch and, because it is an ‘upside down’ house, it has amazing evening sunsets in the right conditions. We were looking for a bit of solitude after the crazy year that is/was 2020 and the chalet gave us that in spades. It was so nice to come back after a day exploring and experiencing the changeable weather that Skye offers in autumn, to a warm home and cook up a nice dinner with some local produce that we found at the local shops. The large kitchen/diner is really well equipped with all the glassware, crockery cutlery (including sharp knives!) you’ll need and cooking while looking out over the loch watching the sun go down with a glass of wine in hand is a joy. If cooking is not in your plans, there are plenty of restaurants close by (post COVID restrictions) to choose from and some of them are offering a take away service during the restrictions. I highly recommend Lochview Chalet to anyone wanting to have a break away in Skye looking for a bit of peace and quiet.

One of the nicest places we stayed on our tour of the Western Isles. Very well equipped, comfortable and spacious. Great views over the loch, especially in the afternoon sun on the balcony! Elaine was helpful and welcoming throughout. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights having completed the North Coast 500 route. We thought that the chalet was excellent and fitted out to a high standard. It is ideal for a couple. Something that took the edge off our stay was the fact that it was unseasonably cold at the time of our stay and initially we were unable to switch on the central heating. I telephoned the owner who managed it remotely and she kindly agreed to turn it on so that we could control the temperature via the radiator valves. However when we arrived back for our final night we discovered that it had been turned off again. I did not challenge this but it did take the shine off an otherwise super place with fabulous views. I have attached a couple of photos of the balcony and the view from it.

We booked the self catering chalet. It was excellent. Spacious, clean, comfy king bed and all things you need. Was great to have a washing machine and drying rack. Heating was excellent. Some modifications seem to be going on which should only enhance the experience. Great views across the loch and the Fields.

We loved everything about Lochview B&B: the host is very friendly and helpful and made sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean (very nice home-like smell) and quite big; the towels were changed every day; the decoration and facilities were very nice and new. The free wifi was very good. The view from the house was really beautiful in all directions; it is a quiet area and a good location to explore the island. No need to worry about parking or anything else :) The booking process, the check-in and check-out were fast and easy. I felt sad when I left and if/when we will go back to Isle of Skye, I would definitely try to stay in the same place.

This is how self catering should be; spacious, very clean, comfy bed, great shower, great kitchen, fantastic views, sky tv, I could go on and on! It really was superb and I would definitely recommend. Thank you.

This is an excellent Bed & Breakfast, very high standards both furnishings and breakfast. Run by a very friendly young family. If I am on skye I would visit this accommodation again. Lovely views overlooking a loch.

Stopped off here for 3 nights on our way home. I don't think we could have made a better choice. The rooms are spotless and have everything you could want. The views from our windows were stunning. Great breakfast choice and absolutely delicious. Very attentive host who made sure all our needs were catered for.

Regarding the location, it may be a challenge to find. We went to a wrongly tagged location on google map and had to call the host for help. Note that if you come from Portree towards Uig, it is located slightly out of the Kensaleyre area and a few houses after Corran Guest House. A small blue sign with Lochview b&B at the slope beside the road. This self catering apartment located steps from Lochview Bed and Breakfast is more resort than a self catering place. Every living area is Big! The master bedroom and a huge toilet ( shower ) are located on the ground floor while living and kitchen areas are located on the house’s first floor. The kitchen was more than fully equipped and had lots of implements that made the most hardcore housewife feel at home. Ample bath towels were provided and we had a drying and ironing rack for everything for a smart evening out. Internet connection was very good and signal strength excellent and secure. Regarding the house, we spent some evenings on the balcony when the sun was out that afternoon. View was unhindered, looking into the Loch. Payment method was by Paypal but if I had booked via Holiday Lettings, I may have more options in terms of payments.
