In a word, no. For the price you can easily find a normal condition hotel inside the city center by just walking around. They need to be upfront about some unexpected conditions: 1) the sewage stench is very bad and almost unbearable for me, 2) no running water 9pm-6am which means no showers after a long day and surprises in the non-flushing toilet. 3) towels not provided and must be "rented" for 20 PHP, 4) No shampoo, toilet paper, soap included--they probably charge for this but I had my own. 5) No soundproofing and thin boards as walls so you can hear people in the kitchen and all your neighbors. 6) There are ants crawling all over the place. The structure is floating on sewage in the ocean outside of the town. There is a terrible smell throughout the area. To get there you have to walk on a wooden bridge without lighting (if you're a backpacker, it's not a problem, but it wouldn't work for any type of luggage). The wifi was ok but had intermittent connection issues as it's a cell phone hotspot router. I imagine it's also pretty bad if more than 3-4 people are simultaneously using it. I stayed here one night because I had to catch an early morning flight. I thought because the price was higher than comparable places, it would actually be nicer than other hostels. Just avoid this place!

We stayed in rb transient 3 nights, that’s was enough! The room is basic, not so bad at all...but the problem was the place around, is a sort of stinky landfill. You can fell that smell inside the room. Rooms aren’t so clean and during the 3 nights we never had the clean room service (on booking is included), no towels for the bathroom, sometimes no water, and the best thing: during the day you will hear the annoying sound of the water pump...sometimes also in the night because the staff forgets to switch off!! I forgot one thing..cockroaches included in the price!

First off, this place needs to be transparent about the conditions of the the area where the hostel is located. For many, it’ll be an experience of culture shock, as what you’ll be walking into is essentially a slum area. You’ll find yourself walking along a path made of wooden planks situated over a swampy region full of putrid, polluted water with the lingering stench of sewage that eventually make its way into your sleeping quarters. I’ve provided a night time photo of that path, which the hostel wouldn’t dare tell you about. Don’t even think of bringing your luggage with wheels here. Then there’s the bugs. I’ve booked four nights, and for the past two nights I’ve been itching for most of the top half of my body. I notice they aren’t the classic markings of bedbug bites, but based on what I’ve shown the owner, they’re ant bites of a sort that are nearly invisible to the eye. So... they’re aware of this problem, and apparently have had this case before. Earlier today, a woman’s from an adjacent room told me of a couple of travellers who’ve had bedbugs here and had to leave. I haven’t had restful sleep here since the nighttime bites and itching have been a huge distraction for the past two nights. I’m actually in bed right now typing this. They told me to keep the lights on, or to keep a lamp or a cell phone light on near my side to prevent the ants(?) from biting. And now the washrooms. Because there’s no water pressure after 9PM from their tank, you can’t have a shower to wash of the days sweat before heading to bed. You’re then met with the possibility of lifting the toilet seat to find the previous person’s deposit that wasn’t flushed due to the toilet’s basin not having any water. So you have to hold your sh*t and piss in until 6AM, or contribute to that deposit. Overall, this is another case where, in the hostel world, you get what you pay for. If you’re in a tight bind, stay here for maybe one night - no more. I booked for four nights. God help me.

We had bookes days ago because we wanted to spend News Year Eve (and few days before) in Coron. The day before the Boat Company told us that all voyages were cancelled because of a big storm. We wrote to the hostel (by email and by Booking) explaining the situation and asked for something to do, because we still wanted to go to the island and stay with them. Even if we arrived a day latter (we were ok with paying all the days or something like that). We didn't get a response, to any of the three email we sent. Booking told us today that our reservation had been cancelled but we were not goning to have our money back, because we didn't appear to the check in. We know that it is attached to the rules, but it is also a poor way to deal with the customers. Because the truth is that we never received an answer from them. We made another reservation but, of course, in another hostel.

Seeing all the comments it may be a bad luck but here is what we found at RB Transient house : A dirty room with not one but two big dead cockroaches under the bed which were there for many days for sure (the smell doesn't lies). toilets with hairs on it.... We didn't sleep the whole night because of the leaking water pump next to our room which started to run every 2 minutes and stop. our room's straw wall made it feel like the pump was into the bedroom. We booked 2 nights at the beginning but after this first night we wanted to leave. Even with this horrible night we wanted to remain "good" persons and only get the refund for the second night that we were no going to spend there. It took us 1 hour to get pay !!! The women at the receptions kept telling that she wasn't the boss, to come back tomorrow, she had no money in the cash register, the boss was sleeping until 12AM while she was texting and calling her. I had to threaten her to post the picture of the dead cockroaches and the insalubrity on internet to get the money... Yeah in fact there was money at the reception and the boss got up when I started make justified threats. We found in town a nice beautiful and quiet room with sea view for the same price this morning.

Stayed February 2016. A bit of a walk from the main road, but not so far from everything in Coron town as it is a very small town. Closer to the port side of town, very near one of the well-know restaurants in Coron, Lolo Nonoy's. Was in Coron for 8 days, and after day 1, I realized I can walk to most of the spots in Coron town except for the going to Maquinit and going to the port when I left before dawn and had my big pack to carry. Walked to the market, grocery, church, Mt. Tapyas, 2Go Travel booking office and the kasuy place L.Escarda's Coron Harvest. The house itself is unique as it is located in the middle of a mangrove, you'll be part of a local community. I love the wooden walkway to the house. Very picturesque at dusk with the local kids playing around. A small store is located nearby, great for basic needs, soap, toiletries and munchies. They just opened a dorm room when I was there. I was one of the first occupants. They worked to improve the guest's experience as after we gave feedback that one fan was not enough for 4 occupants, they immediately added another wall fan for the guests sleeping on the upper bunk. They even added curtains on the beds for privacy, even without me requesting it! There wasn't a vacant bed the whole time I was there. It was a tight squeeze with 4 occupants, specially when all the big packs and bags are in, but the beds are wide and sturdy, and there's a drawer to store valuables (fit my laptop there). Wish they'd add more dorm rooms :) WI-FI was good, I was working on my computer most days I was there, and I encountered no problem with the connection. I cooked my food some days. The kitchen is a common room where guests cook, eat, work on their laptops, watch on the wide screen TV. There's a fridge, so great as a cool drink is always within reach after a full day of touring the islands. The people are golden. They weren't always in the house, but can easily be reached by their mobile numbers if I needed something. I booked my island tour through them, hassle-free, cheaper even when compared to the travel agencies in town. The management made it a point to make my stay comfortable, even spent time chatting with me even when their days were busy.

I stayed here for 1 night. The room was basic and equipped with a fan but as the bathroom very clean. It’s a very nice experience to live in a local‘s area and the hosting family including the children are so nice! Price for the room was very cheap and within a 10 minutes walk you’re in the city center!

This hostel is very clean. It is in the middle of a mangrove and I really enjoyed my stay here. The bridge that I saw in many reviews is fine and safe. Just be aware on your way back at night (bring a torch or use your phone's flashlight)! The only complain is the water during the night time. You can't shower after you come back around 11 pm. Lack of water and pressure on the shower. Overall, people here is quite and polite. Don't expect a party place and common area is only the kitchen.

We were a group of 9 adults & 3 children and we stayed here for 7 days. Since we are on a long term stay, they allowed us to wash our clothes, however they recommended a trustworthy laundryperson to us also. The place is clean considering its location, though there are still some "unwanted guests", again it is understandable considering the place. We got the family room and it is a bit noisy as our room is just beside the electric water tank. The place have a kitchen that is shared to everyone which is again very good for the big group. My only suggestion is for the local government officials with the staff of the RB transient and the residents in that area to organize a cleaning operation to ensure that the place is clean of rubbish as I am a bit worried of an outbreak of cholera as there is no proper human waste disposal and during midday the smell is quite intolerable. As the place is full of litter, pests like cockroaches, mosquitoes and flies are quite rampant. This is not just for RB transient guests benefit but for everyone living there.

Even do it's a bit off, and might be hard to find the walk from the city isn't that far. I did miss basic luxury(?) like toilet seats and being able to take a shower with out waiting for the water to work. Only "big" problem was the beds, they are small, as in super short (175 cm), so I wouldn't recommend anyone that's tall.
