was staying at the burn hotel , a few miles up the road and drove into easingwold to look round and search for for pub food for tea, looked good at the george so had a look at the menu and the premises and booked in for tea.great looking pub set out well, lovely welcome by all staff, sat down and ordered food. couldnt believe the quality and presentation, by far the best pub food i have ever had.presented in such a way that a 5 star restaurant serves food.this is a place too recommend to all your friends, i recently made a 20 mile journey to eat here again, and its not at all dear, just pub prices. absolutely fantastic. when this covid goes, i will be booking into the restaurannt again - while im staying here.

We have just returned today from a 2 night break at the George Hotel. We was made very welcome from the moment we arrived by the on duty staff. We ate in the hotel on both evenings and would like to say that the food was delicious. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Only one slight niggle is that we would have liked to have dined in the newly furbished restaurant which we was told that we would but it didn't happen. We will definitely be visiting again when next in the area. We would like to say thank you to all of the staff and wish them all the best in these difficult times.

We visited for Sunday lunch as we have previously had an amazing midweek lunch and we were not disappointed. Beef cooked perfectly with fluffy Yorkshire puddings, excellent choice of vegetables and roast potatoes done to perfection and my husband had roast pork belly which I will definitely have next time. This was followed by the lightest melt in the mouth ginger and chocolate pudding with caramel custard, clotted cream ice cream and stem ginger. What a treat and this was all served by friendly staff who are observing all covid rules so made us feel extra safe whilst eating. Looking forward to the newly decorated restaurant opening, it looks like we are going to be in for a real treat when it opens. Thank you

The best lunch ever!! Reasonably priced service perfect very quick and friendly I will definitely be visiting again very clean lovely felt total safe very calm atmosphere visited 18 October 2020 had the pork belly .

What a gem booked 2 days away 9th & 10th October for my birthday, what can I say fantastic place, fantastic food, fantastic room just what we asked for, fantastic staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, even wearing masks they are smiling with their eyes, I would highly recommend The George we will be back
