We hosted our first art course at Northcourt. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, well furnished and thoroughly clean. The kitchens are well supplied for cooking for larger groups, the breakfast kitchen is perfect for plating up before serving in either the hall (a hugely impressive dining venue) or the lower kitchen. The two outdoor seating areas are also excellent for al fresco dining. All rooms are beautiful and have their own individual character. Rooms General and Lady Gordon are fit for royalty, the height of luxury. For our purposes, the garden was standout in its magnificence. The care, attention and time that has gone into the estate grounds shines through in breathtaking gardens. The artists loved paining in the walled garden, in the forest, by the stream. They unanimously commented on the variety of painting environments, "one week is not long enough". James and his family are wonderful hosts and where quick to answer all questions and queries. We could not asked for a better venue or time. 10/10.…

For our annual gathering of 6 couples we stayed at Little Northcourt. This house is absolutely gorgeous,- full of character, space, comfort, - and if it is possible to top that, the huge garden surrounding Northcourt are truely stunning. The village pub, The Crown Inn, only a short walk away, is very welcoming and does good food. James, the host, was very helpful, providing information and answering questions. I would definitely recommend staying her.

Recently stayed in Northcourt House and Little Northcourt combined with a group of 28 people and we all had a wonderful time. All the rooms are beautifully furnished and decorated and most have stunning views of the grounds and surroundings. There was plenty of space for our whole group to gather for meals and socializing, as well as areas for smaller groups to sit and chat. Northcourt is run by a family who take great pride in their houses and grounds. They made us feel most welcome and we were able to relax in comfortable, clean and homely surroundings. Everything is exactly as described on the website and detailed in the visitors advance information. This was our second year and we have already booked for next year. Highly recommended

Wonderful, peaceful and comfortable house in gorgeous gardens. This place has the most amazing atmosphere and on a practical level, it was well-equipped with everything we needed, and James was super helpful and on hand if we had any questions. We loved the comfortable beds, the clean bathrooms, the cosy sitting room with its log fire, the amazing music room we used for yoga and pilates and the pretty views from every window. The kitchen was great and everything was plentiful. I can't wait to go back again - four nights wasn't long enough. This is a real house, the rooms are all very different - it is quirky and has clearly been adapted and modified over the years - perfect for large groups or family reunions and celebrations.

I cant remember where I heard it said, that you dont own a house, but look after if for future generations. This is true of Northcourt. It was such a privlidge to stay in this lovely house which has all the quirks you associate with an old house, but with modern comforts. The owners have done a lot of research and renovations, but this does not distract from the character of the house. The room we stayed in was warm, the bed comfortable the shower hot (eventually). Cant fault it at all. Breakfast was perfect, with a cooked breakfast, orange juice, cereals and soda bread. Some people might find the lack of choice not what they are used to, but for us it more than we usually eat. If you want all the facilities of a hotel, then this is not for you, it is someones home and you are a guest in it. However if you have, like us, driven past these gorgeous houses and wondered what it looks like inside, this is your chance. We will definitely be back, to explore it even further.…

Lovely setting and grounds, huge well fitted kitchen. A pity two family member’s showers were not working, plus handle of toilet flush in my room practically off and difficult to use. Needs updating. Most showers very ineffective. Don’t arrive 30 minutes early, one of our family group did ( with a small baby) and we’re very rudely told they couldn’t go in yet and there was a pub round the corner! Honestly! Wouldn’t go back

We had a great afternoon look around for the National Garden Scheme and saw some beautiful flowers, and the manor itself was beautiful on the outside. We enjoyed a picnic in the grounds. It will be open again on 18th September for anyone interested in going.

Held my 70th birthday event at Northcourt. Fantastic venue, facilities and atmosphere, and I cannot really fault the place. We booked the entire capacity of the Manor. My guests absolutely loved the house (all wings ) and the location which was absolutely perfect. The facilities and equipment were top notch. The only glitch was the hot water supply was intermittent in one or two rooms but when that was brought to the attention of the owners, the problem was fixed. The host, James was very patient and helpful. Sorry about the dogs and the noise James!

Two families got together for the wedding of my son and their daughter some thirty people. Wonderful Jacobian Manor which has been restored not modernised, amazing grounds RHS would be proud of them. Many comfortable well-appointed bedrooms mainly ensuite, two fully equipped kitchens with ample seating, two large sitting rooms with log fires, imposing dining room to seat ten dinners. an enormous banqueting hall that we were allowed to decorate for the wedding banquet which was serviced by outside caterers. Wedding was beautifully held in adjacent twelve-century church Really memorable seven-day holiday. We were allowed complete freedom to do as we pleased and as expected left the property as we found it, clean and tidy.

We enjoyed our stay at Northcourt Manor, friendly & helpful hosts and we particularly loved the garden. Set in a nice village with a welcoming pub, The Crown. Well situated as a base to visit everywhere on the island. Lots of walks with fabulous views and hosts John & Christine are happy to share their local knowledge. Recommend visiting nearby Mottistone Gardens (National Trust). For food we recommend The Waterfront bar & restaurant at Totland Bay, Piano cafe at Freshwater Bay and Dell Cafe, Ryde - fresh ingredients & good quality produce. These 3 eateries all have amazing staff. Thank you Northcourt Manor for a lovely stay.
