We stayed here for 5 nights during our Highlands and Islands roadtrip this summer, just after the Scottish lockdown eased. The building is nothing special to look at from the outside (it was formally a Council-owned care home) but the rooms are nicely decorated, warm and welcoming, and the beds comfortable. There's also a shared kitchen and lounge area, which was a great bonus for us as not all the local pubs and restaurants had re-opened following lockdown. (Though the Burnside garage and chip shop down the road was open, and is thoroughly recommended for a fish supper!!) You will also be made very welcome by Alasdair and Peter, who own the accommodation; and all credit to them for their hard work. Work is still underway to complete the conversion of the rest of the building, and I wish them all the best with that. But if you're holidaying in the Hebrides in the summer, you won't be spending time in your accommodation. You'll be out enjoying the long empty beaches, the wild flowers, walking on the moors and hills and sucking in the freshest air you've ever breathed. And the Uist Travel Accommodation is perfectly located to enjoy all that!

We had booked here for our holiday and we weren’t expecting much! The staff Peter and Archie where 2 charismatic lads, who where very helpful with tips, told good stories and where great to talk too! We were in the flat and we where pleasantly surprised at how brilliant it was. Everything was spotless, kitchen was amazing, big modern bathroom! The bedrooms fantastic also! Stay here if visiting Uists!

Clean room (no 11) with good shower. Recently renovated. Shared kitchen and lounge with dining table, but as no other guests were using these we had free and full access. Had everything we needed. Not the most attractive building from the outside, but a good value stopping off point.

Stayed here on a solo trip to the Outer Hebrides, and was a little skeptical due to the price. However, it is exactly as advertised: Clean, warm and affordable accommodation. It is run by a few locals who are not living onsite, but they supply you with contact details and will meet you at the accommodation at the time of your arrival. The rooms are extremely clean, have been recently fitted out/refurbished, and the toilet/shower area was completely renewed, so extremely fresh. For those who are visiting the Hebrides and pursuing outdoor activities that mean you will not spend hours inside your accommodation, then this place really is perfect. A bed, toilet, heating, shower, cooking facilities all at an extremely affordable price, I wish there was more places like this to cater for those who are not interested in the extras and just want to have a comfortable rest whilst pursuing outdoor activities (photography in my case). Keep up the good work, I shall return.

Well, what a fantastic stay we had in the holiday flat number 2, we were welcomed with teas, coffes, bread, butter. (Sometimes its just the simple touches). there was aleays someone around if you needed help with anything and its always handy to have the dryer room facility (Especially in Uist). Its a work in progress and they dont pretend otherwise. I am now booked for November and my summer holiday next year. Keep up with your fantastic work
