Great views and location, OK room, and the food was second-rate. Restaurant staff were very pleasant and attentive, but amateur. Host had no record of our 4-week-advance two-night reservation, but due to bad weather were able to provide a room. She blamed the confusion on an outside reservation service that had unofficially piggy-backed on their official website. She said the...

Spent one night here on a driving tour of the Highlands & Islands. The thing that sets it apart is the location; right at the southernmost tip of South Uist with lovely views over Eriskay and Barra. The sunset on arrival was worth it alone. A warm welcome and a comfortable (if unspectacular) room. Good dinner and breakfast set us...

Rather a long walk to our room, should have told them that my husband had walking problems, but it was only 1 night, we had a small double which was plenty big enough, we had a nice view, we also ate in the restaurant & the food was superb, we were a little disapointed as we had seen on the...

Almost at the most southern tip of South Uist we found this inn, thanks to the directions of some local boys (we had forgotten to check the location on Google maps....). Traditional building right next to the beach. We also had the beautiful view from our room. Room itself was all in dark reddish colours, bit to gloomy for our...

One of our most memorable stays in a hotel was at Polochar Inn, which is situated by a spectacular beach in South Uist. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff. We enjoyed a walk by the ocean and visited the standing stone before heading back to the Inn for delicious meal. Our room had a view of the ocean,...

Lunch menu is very limited. The seafood chowder was a large dollop of mixed fish with little fluid served in a bowl with a leaden roll. Very disappointing. Scallops are only on evening menu when they have them. We decided the chowder was bad enough so didn't try anything else to eat. Expressso coffee was only warm. Tea was fine

Overall good hotel. Reception staff helpful, welcoming and nice. Food was very good, once we could get someone to serve us. Room really nice. the hotel was very busy with The Heb race finish event so the service was slow to start as the poor guys serving were a bit stressed but we had all night so no real problem...

On a recommendation we made our way from lochboisdale marina down to the Polochar Inn for dinner while sailing. A wee taxi ride later and we were dropped off in front to the magnificent views over Barra and Eriskay. Staff inside were a bit unsure at first, we hadn't booked, but soon seated us. The food was a good wide...

We stayed the night before our ferry from Lochboisdale and it was ideal. Situated at the end of the island it has a fantastic view over out to sea. The staff were helpful, letting us settle up in the evening so that we had no issues with an early start. We met 4 friends for dinner which was good, served...
