Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've visited this place on several occasions and it's always been a treat! Our most recent visit couldn't be rated with anything other than 5 stars! Being there on a Sunday, we didn't want to miss the opportunity for a roast dinner. The beef was cooked perfectly, and it came with a large homemade yorkshire pudding, lots of gravy, and a selection of vegetables. The new spring/summer menu looks incredible, featuring pub classics as well as more experimental dishes. We'll definitely be back to give it a try!

Called in initially for a drink after a lovely walk around Grassington village. Well the smell of the food we couldn't resist luckily we were able to get a table, amazing home cooked food with great service. The portion size and value were great, with a lovely cosy atmosphere. Will be visiting again.

Check in was good, rooms was compact but adequate, comfy bed but pillows too firm and big for us but that's nothing to complain about. The bathroom and room just needs some investment, it was clean but needs tiding up which let it down we felt. Ate at restaurant, food was bang average, I had a burger and a plate of fries with zero presentation and my wife had a curry which she said was ok. Both had puddings which were both nice if not far too much coconut on the blancmange. Breakfast was good, need more than one slice of toast though but happy to provide more when prompted. Service overall was good and staff friendly.

Oh my word. We ate on Sunday lovely meal and excellent service, staff were a joy. Went back on Tuesday to find a completely different experience. Staff were rude at best and the young lady serving threw a strop and had a very audible tif in the kitchen.

Main course all ok,however ordered The Cheese and biscuits at £12.50 Attracted by the menu describing HOMEMADE CRACKERS!! with Chutney cheeses and seasonal accompaniments The biscuits were not HOMEMADE they were standard supermarket fayre and soft, the Seasonal accompaniments were 6 small slices of apple and the 3 small pieces of Cheese straight out of the Fridge. Not worth half the cost .I would suggest to the owner to be Honest with his description . presentation like this is Deception

Excellent: A very warm welcome from the enthusiastic and efficient hotel and restaurant staff. Clean, comfortable rooms and our evening meal was delicious. A full english breakfast served to order and a special extra was their very own tasty marmalade. We wouldn't hesitate in returning here.

Everything about this place is A1. Staff, decor, atmosphere, rooms, food etc, etc, etc. Can’t fault anything, (this was our 2nd visit), and just love the place. Also, many interesting places to visit in the area. Highly recommend anyone to visit as we will certainly return.

Due to circumstances, we had to ask for an overnight stay at 6pm that night. We also had a dog. This wasn’t a problem at all and the staff in the restaurant side were extremely helpful and reassured me. The room was lovely. The coffee n tea selection was nice as well as the toiletries. We had lovely burgers in the bar downstairs that night and a really nice breakfast the next morning. Everyone was super friendly and we had a lovely time. We would deffo stay again!

Had 2 nights in this little hotel in the lovely village of Grassington. It is right in the middle and a stones throw from pubs and walks and shops. The bar and restaurant are modern and dog friendly; we especially appreciated the dog friendly area in the main restaurant rather than sitting in bar to eat in the evening and at breakfast. Food and drinks are good and the staff friendly and relaxed. We stayed in a dog friendly room which was overall fine and was clean. The biggest issue was that it was very noisy with no sound proofing…. Could hear everything from the bar and the next rooms, people talking and endless doors banging and other noises. It was quiet in the night after pub shut and until about 7am then it started again. Also made our dog very jumpy. During the day it was extremely annoying and impossible to rest in the room. Not sure how it was possible the doors were banging continuously with only 16 rooms. It was also quite cold in the room. We were advised the temperature is managed centrally and we could request it warming up which we did but the room remained cold. What made it worse was the weather, meaning wet clothes we left in the room near radiators didn’t dry and there was nowhere to dry towels so they also stayed wet and cold.
