I would agree with Maggie C in her review. The positives are the staff, the eggs at breakfast and the location. Everything else is poor. Our room was tiny, grubby and dilapidated especially the bathroom. Carpets are worn and dirty and everywhere needs redecorating. We were on the top floor and couldn't get any hot water. It's all done on...

Popped in for light lunch, we all had home roast pork/ham sandwich and home cooked chips, it was fantastic and good value, it was the 40s weekend and even though the staff were very busy Gentle was super nice, helpful and friendly, well worth a visit

My husband wanted to watch a football match while having a drink and although there was another major football match on in another part of the bar, the staff went out of their way to set up another television for my husband (and one other individual) to watch. I did not want to watch the match or have an alcoholic...

Two couples stated here for one night. We are unanimous in our judgements; Excellent staff who did their best to give us good service and attention - they actually deserve 5 stars! Luxurious towels However the accommodation itself; Tired Shabby Dated Dirty in parts Dilapidated furniture Appliances that would certainly fail a PAT test Poor value for money - we...

We called in on July 12th for a bar lunch. The pub was quiet (it was only about 1230) and the staff were cheerful and welcoming. We ordered our food, a tomato soup and a tuna sandwich for my wife and a fish pie with vegetables for me. The food was quite disappointing: the soup was good (though it was...

Situated on Grassington Main Street this pub provides excellent food at a reasonable price and, in my opinion, is rather better value for money than the No. 5 close by. I was able to book on-line via email and received a prompt reply. We went on a Friday evening and the restaurant was fairly full so booking in advance is...

We stayed in The Black Horse Hotel for the weekend but ate here on the Friday evening. The pub staff are all very welcoming and the food was fantastic. We ate in the restaurant part of the pub and found the menu and food choices to be way in excess of normal pub food. Starters we had were flat mushrooms...

Anyone wanting a good meal and atmosphere in a nice country pub with log fire, then this is the place as the food was excellent. However I wouldn't bother staying the night. We went for the weekend and stayed over for the Saturday night. The room was very dated and shabby looking, but the bed was the worst thing. I...

We were warmly welcomed by the landlord, who helped us to find a parking place, the traditional English bar was friendly, and the food was excellent and of good value. I particularly enjoyed the full English. The towels were such as you'd expect to find in a top of the range country house hotel. Only drawback - the stairs were...

We stayed here for one night on a whim on our way to Kettlewell. The room was small and stuffy and it needed some updating and re-decorating. Breakfast was ok it was your usual selection and was prompted served. The problem we had was with the band playing downstairs. When we booked the room there was no sign outside saying...
