I stayed here four five nights as part of an organised tour that when on to Ice hotel for final night. The group of eight of us built an igloo one day (great fun - my husband & stayed in that night when it was -17!), we had an overnight Husky dog sled trip which was amazing, did a Snowmbile day trip which was great fun as well as Show Shoe walk and ice fishing. Everyone was very welcoming, the rooms were nice and the food suberb. I can't rate this place highly enough. The prices for the activities were less that half of what the Icehotel were charging. We were part of tour but as this place does transfers for the short trip to airport/ icehotel could easily travel independantly. I think the whole place only takes about 20 people so is very cosy.

We are a French family of 5 from Lille and during the uncertain times of COVID in February 2021, we decided to plan a week-long trip to Swedish Lapland within a two-week delay. We found out about True Nature Sweden on the internet and contacted William to help us organize the trip of our dreams. He was very informed and helped us choose from a multitude of options to what suited us best—a lodge in the nature near Kiruna, which was above the polar circle so even better for seeing the northern lights (which was one of our wishes). We also got to choose a variety of activities to fill up the week. William is clearly well-connected within the tourism industry and as such has many experiences to offer, all with knowledgeable insight as he himself has done many of these experiences. He was able to offer us a 48-hour full refund policy, which was an incredible comfort in the midst of COVID.

When we got to the airport, Franziska—the owner of the Lappeasuando lodge—was waiting to pick us all up. A very pleasant and kind person, Franziska happily answered all of our questions and proved to be very responsive to our needs. It was a very well-kept cute and cozy lodge in the heart of Lapland (we had two rooms amongst us). It was extremely cold upon our arrival (-17 degrees) and we came very prepared, but even we took advantage of the equipements of Lappeasuando lodge with one-piece snowsuits, gloves, and boots in all the sizes imaginable! Every day we had delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) at the cafeteria.

The two days of dogsledding with the wonderful guides as well as spending one night at the wilderness lodge, even further disconnected from the modern world, was incredible. We liked snowmobiling, so much so that we wanted to do it again on our second-to-last day. We told Franziska about this, and even though they were booked, she got into contact with colleagues and they were able to transport us to the snowmobiling near Kiruna.

We had great activity and movement-filled days whether it be hiking (snowshoes), cross-country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and most importantly: sightseeing. After a long day in the cold taiga, we would go to the sauna with Swedish beer and cool off between rounds in the ice-cold snow, all whilst looking for the Northern lights (which we were able to see every night in the second half of the week). It was literally a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Note: we were very lucky to be able to see the Northern lights during our week-long stay as it depends on many factors to be able to see them.

All in all, Franziska and her team deserve nothing but success in the way they operate: kindness, responsiveness, adaptability……

What a fabulous place. It is situated brilliantly with immediate access to forest trails and lakes, I’ve never seen stars so bright. We got to see the Northern Lights (the previous week someone said they were every night). The food is excellent, hearty, the chefs Niels and Bart were keen to please. There’s a real home from home air about the place, very informal, very relaxed. From a practical point of view, if you are prone to cold hands then definitely bring some hand warmers (not just gloves) and note your electric toothbrush charger may be useless....and bring a travel kettle if you like a brew first thing.
The Lodge provide the most amazing boots, we did not have cold feet the whole time. Like everyone, we fell in love with the huskies and our trips with them were the highlight. Whilst you are not forced to partake in any of the activities, and you don’t have to be super fit, you do need a reasonable degree of physical fitness to make the most of it. Likewise, if you don’t like dogs, you won’t get the most out of the husky trip, as helping to harness them and feed them (and cuddle them) is all part of it.
We are sitting here in the airport looking at the photos we took and wishing we were still there.
Thank you Francesca and the team. Would love to come back and would not hesitate to recommend.

Well what can I say...? This place is truly amazing, fantastic experiences (Husky Mushing, Show Shoe walks, Ski Mobiling etc.) but it is the people that make it so special, from the friendly welcome by Francesca, the amazing food loving prepared by Neils and the wonderful walks with Alex, Bart and Barbara, to the adorable driver Walter...and then there’s Matts, the Husky Guru who’s stare can make grown men weep but when he congratulates you on your harnessing skills it’s like getting a handshake from God.
Thank you to everyone at Lappeasuando Lodge for an amazing holiday and I hope to see you again one day...

We arranged a trip to Lappesuando with Nature Travels based in the UK, an excellent company. The organisation from the start was impressive. We were nervous about what to expect, was it going to be too cold? Was the food going to be awful? Would we be fit enough? All worries in vain. On arrival we found the Lodge is pretty close to the main road, but during the stay we never heard any road noise in our rooms and rarely outside either, which was great. Our host at Lappeasuando, Franziska and all the staff could not do enough for you. The rooms are simple, clean, warm and cosy, beds comfy, hot water plentiful. We were amazed at the quality and diversity of the food - what an achievement given they are 60-70km away from the nearest shops - we had fresh salad everyday, fresh bread everyday, a fantastic breakfast spread everyday. We were picked up from the airport with no complaints despite the flight being over an hour late. We were provided with all the warm clothes we needed and snow shoes. We also booked an overnight dog sledding adventure with Sabine which was a super experience. We stayed in the magical forest lodge where the rooms were all super heated and cosy the food was amazing again - all prepared in advance at the main lodge and transported ready for us to eat at the end of a happy dog sledding day. There were also hot drinks, snacks and biscuits aplenty - we did not go hungry - on the contrary. It was a special night for me in more than one way being my 50th birthday and they had even prepared for that too, including a bottle of fizz and candles on a cake. We were encouraged to avail of the sauna at the forest lodge and the main lodge, something we did not expect to enjoy but ended up realising it was the best way to warm up in the frozen north and was much more enjoyable than expected. At the end of the dog sledding trip I realised I'd left my coat and passport back at the forest lodge, but no problem - we just jumped on a snowmobile and went off to collect them. No complaints or moans. Finally when it was time to leave, again the organisation was impeccable and we got to visit the ice hotel and Kiruna church before being dropped to the railway station to catch our train to Stockholm. When we paid for the trip it felt expensive, when we came home we felt we'd had value for money. We didn't see the northern lights, but maybe next time. Many thanks to everyone at Lappeasuando and Nature Travels.

We were hunting the northern lights when we stayed here. The first thing that impressed was the friendly welcome. The lodges themselves were absolutely fantastic, well decorated, warm and cozy. The sauna is great and the breakfast was healthy with plenty to eat. If you like privacy and nature, this is the place for you.

My partner and I stayed here as part of a tour group of eleven people. On arrival we were shown to our room, which was a terraced cabin facing the main lodge and a lake in the distance. Upon arrivall we were given a briefing on what would happen and how they would look after us and given arctic overalls, gloves, hats and boots to wear. The room was comfortable, with a separate shower, toilet and sink. The room itself had two twin beds (which we pushed together to get a double), a small table and sofa bed; together with hooks for coats and clothes.

It is designed for its cold climate and we did not get cold in the room; if anything we got too hot as the underfloor heating controls were a bit of a challenge to get used to. There was also a boot drier, which looked a cross between a wall mounted fan heater and a hoover, but it did the job of drying out sweaty moon boots, which was essential in the minus 30 degrees we had to contend with when out. They would do good to have a curtain that could be drawn over the small window in the front door, as we found the flood lights illuminated the room, despite the balckout blinds being down; but that is a small imperfection.

Breakfasts, lunches and dinners were amazing; 5* restaurant quality and very plentiful. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate were also on tap - although no facilities were available in the room. As you are in the middle of nowhere, there is no possibility of popping to the local store to get a drink or a bite to eat, so bear this in mind when you decide what to take from the breakfast bar and what to take with your from the airport.

We took part in a husky safari, ice fishing, snow shoe trek, snowmobile safari, northern light professional photographic lecture and spent the night in a wilderness camp about 2km from the main lodge. The camp has no electricity or running water and you get roped into doing things such as fetching water from an ice hole in the river to fill the kitchen and sauna full of water. Here you get the chance to sauna the swedish way (if you want to!) naked, with a beer and then a roll in the snow, only to go back in and experience the tingling sensation. It was from here in the pitch black of night we were also treated to a Northern Light show.

Host is a lovely, patient lady; who is eager to make your stay comfortable.

What an amazing time we had! We stayed here for 4 nights late Feb 2013, and I would recommend this Lodge to anyone. The activities were great (we did snowshoes, husky safari, ice fishing, snow mobiles and wilderness camp). Every moment was fun, the hosts were passionate and knowledgeable about their environment, the accommodation was simple but very comfortable and just what you needed. The meals were brilliant: breakfast was typical Scandinavian fare and very plentiful, the lunch was filling and satisfying and the dinner very enjoyable. The meals were all geared up to replenishing the calories spent on your activities but of good restaurant quality The biggest plus points for the Lodge go to Barbara and her team. She is your host and you leave with her as your friend. Gudrun's informative snowshoe walks and ice fishing expeditions are informative and great fun. You might not be lucky enough to catch any fish but lying on a reindeer skin on the ice, drinking a liggonberry cordial and eating homemade cookies is priceless. Bart is host/waiter/barman and again ends up your friend! Spend a night in the wilderness camp with Barbara. I was a little anxious about no water or electricity, but it turned out to be the most fantastic night spent in peaceful surroundings and with new friends. I can't recommend this venue enough. I only wish I had been able to stay longer.

Me and my sister stayed there for 5 nights during the end of December 2011.

The activities we ordered has been shifted a little bit, due too a lack of snow, but their was still enough snow to perform everthing. Snowscooter trip, kicksledge, snowboot walks, langlaufing, huskysledge, iglo building, wilderniscamp, icefishing, a visit to Sami people, ... (winter program)
Snowboots, langlaufski's, warm overall's & sauna you can use for free!

The restaurant is very good, two times a day hot delicious food: moose, bear, salmon, ...
Because the days are really short (in december 9:00 - 14:30), the breakfast is between 8:30 - 9:30, lunch is at 14:30 and dinner is around 18:00. A bit strange in the beginning but logic after some days.

The staff are really motivated and friendly and great storytellers. Always helpful if you have questions about the people, culture and country. All together they talk : Swedish, Finnish, German, Dutch, French, English & "Antwerps"

I'm not the person that likes to go two times too the same place, but this place I'm hesitating...

What a fantastic place! First thing to say is that when it’s -12 degrees outside, you welcome the cosy warmth of the rooms and the lodge where you eat and relax. The fire was always lit and gave it a magical feel to the place.
The food was gorgeous - buffet breakfast, a hearty soup for lunch and 3 courses at dinner. All homemade and top quality.
The staff were so lovely! Everybody was only too happy to answer questions and chat.
The nighttime snow shoeing tour was spectacular and yes, we did see the Aurora which made it even more special.
The husky sledding was one of the best experiences ever - the dogs are so well looked after and absolutely love their jobs! Their excitement was infectious!
We finished our 4 days with a tour of the Ice Hotel on our way back from the airport - we’ll worth it. It was spectacular.
Thanks Franziska for making our stay an amazing bucket-list ticking adventure!
