“La stella del pastore” è uno dei nomi con cui era conosciuto il pianeta Venere, il primo astro a comparire dopo il tramonto (a ovest) e l’ultimo a spegnersi (a est) prima dell’alba, per cui segnalava l’ora in cui i pastori portavano il bestiame al pascolo all’alba oppure l’ora in cui fare rientro al tramonto. Agriturismo, gestito dalla famiglia Gratton, a Lillaz (fraz. di Cogne (AO)). Aperto tutto l’anno.

We loved our stay at the Agriturismo. Everything was wonderful. The inside is so comfortable and cosy and full of interesting and pretty touches. It's great that you can also cater for yourself. The gardens and outside environment are beautiful. The location is perfect. The owners and staff are all very hospitable and helpful. I hope we can stay again.

I chose this B&B as it was near to lots of winter alpine climbing. I didn't realise that the B&B would itself become part of the pleasure of the holiday. The facilities at l'etoile du berger are first rate. There is a large garage for parking, which is indispensable in winter. No long defrosting sessions! The accommodation itself is beautifully prepared, with lots of wood, large clean rooms with amazing showers (and homemade soap with alpine herbs/flowers - not the usual rubbish hotel shower gel!). Our lovely host Anna made sure that the rooms were kept clean and stocked with towels and other essentials. She also prepared amazing breakfasts, with lots of local produce, including yoghurt, butter, and cheese from their own cows. Local apple juice, homemade gallettes and cakes, and local beef sausage added to the delicious spread, all served in view of a roaring wood fire. The historic and cultural aspect of l'etoitle du berger was amazing in it's own right, and for that alone deserves your interest. For its situation in its stunning alpine setting, it surely is a must visit. Thank you Anna for your warm welcome and attentive hosting in your lovely part of the world.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the Grand Paradiso. Romantic mountain style, good service. And very useful: electric chargers for the car nearby. The rooms are decent, clean and mountain styled. Very nice. From Lillaz you can make beautiful hikes in the alps.

We’re a family of three with a small baby. Location wise is perfect if you want to hike around Gran Paradiso avoiding the crowd in Cogne. There are places to eat nearby as well. Room is clean and beds are comfortable, it’s just smaller than what we expected specially if you have a baby, with the cot and stroller, there’s barely enough space to move around. Free parking. Breakfast is home made but average, a slice of sweet and some cold cuts upon request with coffee. Considering that it’s an agriturismo, an egg would have been great. Hospitality wise, Adele is a good host, answers all your queries.

Peccato!!!

Adele was very helpful and friendly, and the accommodation was beautiful, comfortable and authentic. It is in the heart of Lillaz with access to excellent hikes and views of Mont Blanc. Cogne is just a short walk or bike away. Highly recommended!

We stayed for several days during the summer for a hiking vacation. The inn is owned by Anna and her young family and managed by Adele, her aunt. Adele speaks many languages and welcomes all guests to the beautifully restored inn in LIllaz. The building is a historic structure that has been renovated as a lovely inn. The workmanship and details are beautiful and it feels very authentic. The rooms are not large, but are sparkling clean. Also, because the building is a historic building the rooms are a little on the dark side. Aside from the rooms, there is a common breakfast area and a lower level kitchen and sitting space space for guests. Breakfast is served every morning with local products from the agritourismo farm, which is located up the mountain via a 3-4 hours hike (depending on your conditioning!). The wifi router is located in the breakfast room and that is where the signal is the strongest. It does not reach the guest rooms upstairs. We can't say enough about the warm hospitality. Adele is a wonderful host and is happy to help you with anything you need. The inn and the rooms are very authentic and so clean you could practically eat off the floors. The one thing that is important to know is that the inn is located in the village itself, it is not located at the farm. If it is important to you to have a farm experience, know that the farm's products are served at the inn, but to see the farm and animals you need to take a considerable hike up the mountain. Overall, this is a beautifully run small family inn.

Maurizio, Adele and her niece Ann and husband Lilliano welcomed us to this gem of a place to stay in Lillaz, itself a gorgeous, picture perfect village in the heart of the national park in Gran Paradiso. So kind and warm and friendly ensuring we felt part of the place from start to finish. The rooms are rustic and kitted out with the finest mattresses and pillows with great bathrooms and views out to the garden with the mountains beyond. The breakfast is made with your choice of perfect coffee and tea and stars the local produce made by Lilliano’s herd of cows who you can visit up in the mountains - a 3-4 hour trek to Bardonet past a stunning alpine lake. From fresh milk, yoghurt and honey to cured, rosemary beef to charcuterie and cheeses all made from Lilliano’s herd and dairy in the mountains above Lillaz. There is a mini market, cheese shop, a gelataria, cafe and restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. The stunning waterfalls of Lillaz are just 15 mins walk away. Dogs are welcome to stay. There is a fully kitted out kitchen made available to guests to cook your own meals. All of this for a modest B&B rate makes it a very special place to stay that is quite affordable. I shall be recommending to my friends at Sawday’s and return many more times.

We stayed about one week at this lovely agritourism. The bed and breakfast is located in a beautifully renovated wooden farmhouse. The rooms are very clean and decorated with style. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast includes local products. Adele is a very warm hostess and does her utmost best to make guests feel at home. There are multiple hiking routes nearby the B&B with breathtaking scenery.

We found this place only by accident while checking for a short stopover (only two days) on our way from Lake Geneva to the Ligurian coast. What awaited us was a caring and cordial host (Adele), a cozy room with the smell of woods and great breakfasts with the best of homemade, region-typical products. Altogether an experience of absolutely pleasent and relaxing tranquility and cozyness in a warm family like atmosphere. We filled our days with the recommendations of Adele and the other guests and did some great walks to the waterfalls, up in the valleys and to close-by Cogne. We can only recommend this place, especially when travelling with children, if you look for a place genuine that feels a little like coming home
