Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The photo on here does nothing to portray the feel of The Green. The garden is beautiful and a table here with the most delicious food was well worth the journey. My party had gammon which is served with egg and pineapple and delicious accompaniments, a prawn open sandwich with the most tasty sauce I have every had so much so I have chosen it twice in the last two months, and a lasagne which is even better than my home made. Very reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere with attentive staff and quick service. Some have mentioned about the large menu but everything we ordered we really could not find fault with. The prices are very reasonable too. All in all it's a great weekend away but be sure to book your table as it's very popular.

Taken here by friends and it's a nice country pub with good service and some well kept ales.

The food is reasonably priced but I was just so disappointed with the Toad in the Hole that I can't go 5 circles. It's a dish I haven't had in years but have good memories of a thick batter with sausages inside. Unfortunately this was a thin round Yorkshire pudding base with 3 sausages resting on top. In saying that, the onion gravy and vegetables were perfect.

Definitely visit again, just try something else.

Booked into local campsite, found that this pub was next door, went for afternoon pint and asked if they served food, 😀 "yes but you will need to book,we don't have much after 18:30" glad we did book, food was amazing I had the duck and wife enjoyed slow cooked beef steak, both meals were absolutely excellent and delicious. The duck was served with a perfect hoisin sauce, portion size just ... we will return

We were recommended this pub by the person whose property we were staying at. We went Sunday lunch. The food was nice and plenty of it. The staff on arriving, well the lady behind the bar, was a little grumpy when we arrived but the next woman we saw, who went through the cavrey options was really friendly and helpful.

The issue was the stench of sewage outside when parking, the dog friendly area being more like a darts / snooker area with a few tables chucked in. There were a number of table of people eating when a local with his kid came in a just put the football on the TV. Great but the TV was above a families head meaning the man and his soon were sat looking at them the whole time. Not ideal really, I appreciate keep your locals happy but there should be a balance.

What would stop me going back, in fact what did stop us returning later in the week was finding out that this pub only had 2 stars / points for hygiene rating and what seemed to be letting it down was everything. The nearby Crown Inn was much nicer.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed a family meal. This was a return visit after a gap of some 20 years. Food was good and reasonably priced with a selection of main courses, from £9 upwards. Accommodation was clean and comfortable with an excellent breakfast to set us up for the day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely an establishment we plan to return to.

We went here on a recommendation of a local and we were very impressed. We were 6 vegetarians and they had plenty of choice on their specials menu. We went for the cannelloni which was delicious and came with salad, garlic bread and chips. A fantasticly sized portion. We also ordered the penang curry which again was very tasty and well sized. The vegetable kiev and veggie wellington were tasty too but the portions were much much smaller which was a shame, but they did come with mash and vegetables. Larger portions with some veggie gravy would be ideal. Great service and a lovely garden. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Oh my goodness where to start. We booked a table for a lateish lunch on Saturday 14 January. 5 adults. We had a table by the log burner which was super cosy (as it was cold and drizzly outside). Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The food was absolutely fantastic. We had lamb shanks, salmon and ham. All cleared our plates. Veg was plentiful. We would all highly recommend and will definitely be back. Many thanks.

I have never felt more welcome in a pub! A lovely family run pub where everyone, esp the landlady, was so friendly, even when the place was very busy. The food was great too, and the Ludlow Gold Ale has to be one of my favourites. Never thought a pub meal will be the highlight of our camping trip. Wish this was my local pub!
