The Armada Guesthouse House is the ideal destination for visiting family or friends, walking the Cleveland Way, admiring our wonderful North East coast line or venturing over the stunning heather landscape of the North York Moors National Park. Situated only one hundred yards from Redcar’s beach, many rooms have a seaview. Whatever you choose to do, on your return you will be able to freshen up and walk into the town, where you will find lovely restaurants and many bars within a two minute walk. You might like to stroll along the promenade on your way back to get some sea air. In 2006, the new owners, John and Gill began an extensive program of renovation to this splendid Victorian town house, and have currently completed thirteen of fifteen rooms, each with a warm and inviting atmosphere. A full range of rooms ranging from economy singles to luxury family en-suites is available, with prices to suit all pockets and tastes. We are also well equipped for the discerning business traveller as we offer free wireless internet access, digital LCD television, welcome tray and legendary breakfast, voted by our residents, the best in the North East. Huntsman, Ensus, Sembcorp, Invista, Uniqema, Dow, Advansa, Artenius at Wilton International are all within a 6 or 7 minute drive, as are Corus and Teesport. Within five minutes walk is Cleveland Golf Club. Established in 1887, the course is the only true links course in Yorkshire and is also one of the oldest courses in the county. The course offers easy walking and is a fair challenge to players of all abilities. The club has hosted many county and professional events and is the home to the amateur scratch competitions the Cleveland Salver and the Mid Amateur International. All major credit cards, including American Express, and debit cards are accepted. Please note that charges apply: 50p for debit cards and 3% for credit cards.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An absolutely amazing stay, from arrival yo departure. We booked through booking.com and used the message system when needed, confirming that we were bringing along our dog and our arrival time. On the day of arrival our hosts were so hospitable and welcoming. We checked in, got our parking permit (which was a bonus), we were offered breakfast, which I had missed on the booking, but for £8.95 a head was a fantastic option to have, and were shown to our room. We got given a full room tour, pointing out the essentials, and then we were left alone. This sentence sounds awful, but it was just what we needed. The room was a comfortable family room, with ensuite. There were tea and coffee making facilities with fresh milk, water, hair dryer and towels. You could control the heating yourself and there was also a fan available. The beds were comfortable, I have a disability so chose to sleep in the single bed, while hubby took the double. Our dog was perfectly comfortable and loved the experience, even learning where her room was. The guesthouse is probably a 30 second walk to the beach, so perfect for a dog friendly holiday. Overall, I was so impressed, my disability comes with huge anxiety issues, especially around new places but I was so comfortable here, and already planing our next trip north!

We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment across the road. It was well appointed with lounge / kitchen area with all the necessary appliances for a short break and 2 en-suite double bedrooms. The shower in the en-suite was excellent, very good size and a good powerful shower. We had breakfast in the main guesthouse, very nice indeed, served by friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend.

This Guest House is Excellent From them taking my call to book to the minute we left. We took the small room with ensuite which was exactly as they described. Small but functional. We will definitely use them home again in the future. All of their awards are well deserved. Thank you for looking after us.

I am at Redcar a few times a year for business and have stayed in a few places but this is the first time here. I have to say it’s the cheapest place I’ve been in, it’s only a place to sleep before heading back to Glasgow, and I was really surprised at this place! The guy at check in was lovely and I had a single room that really was set out in a way that a few of the larger places weren’t! It was immaculate, had everything from bathrobe, a lovely little box with tea and coffee, come biscuits and coasters, and had the attention to detail, other places could learn from! Honestly I would recommend this over any other place in Redcar, and if I’m back I will definitely be staying here. Well done!
