We stayed at Riwaka in early February after a hectic few weeks of travel. Estuary cottage was the ideal place to unwind, tour the area and do our washing. It is an oasis of calm on the fruit growing plain. Close to the Abel Tasman trail.Maree and Ken, the owners who live next door were always keen to share their...

The primary aim of our party of 3 adults was to return to Abel Tasman after an absence of nearly 40 years. Riwaka Retreat is ideally situated for access to Marahau, and hence water taxi services for the Abel Tasman coast track. Motueka with its well-stocked supermarket is a short drive away. For those for whom the Abel Tasman coast...

Our group stayed at both the Riwaka Ritz and The Studio. We all loved our three night stay here and also went on a Paddle Me Home trip with Ken which was fabulous. The location is excellent being quiet and peaceful but close to Motueka town and local walks to the harbour and coastal footpath. The accommodation was all we...

We absolutely loved this accommodation! We stayed for two nights at the end of our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful break from the busier hotels. Maree was very informative via email and welcomed us last minute when our plans changed. The Estuary Studio is incredibly private and spacious for a couple, but cozy in the way that it makes...

A great little cottage for a family of four, this place had everything we needed and a great little garden outlook to boot. Round the corner from Motueka and near Riwaka jetty and the Resurgence, there was lots to see and do. Friendly owners too. However, it's name is a little misleading as I wouldn't say it's a hotel or...

The accommodations (bedroom, bath, and sitting/kitchen, with patio) are spotlessly maintained, spacious, and very comfortable. Since we were on a month-long trip, it was great to be able to use the washing machine and dryer. We appreciated having wi-fi service. We didn’t use the kitchen except for breakfast of fresh fruit, cereal, toast, yogurt, and coffee (all provided), but it...

We spent six nights in the Estuary Cottage, which had all the amenities we need for our visit to this beautiful area. Owners Ken and Marie also do guided walks in the park; we spent a morning with Ken on part of the Abel Tasman track and learned so much more than we had on our own walks in the...

We stayed in the Studio in February - it was very comfortable and well-appointed and Maree made sure we wanted for nothing. We had booked to do the two day guided walk on the Abel Tasman Trail with Ken as our guide. Unfortunately we were unlucky enough to get the worst February weather on record, with Day 1 cool and...

We stayed in the Estuary Cottage for five nights, which was very comfortable. We had plenty of room and a lovely deck and private little garden. There are very good kitchen facilities which makes self-catering easy if you want this. There are laundry facilities just next door with an outside washing line to get everything dry. The hairdryer is kept...

Ken and Maree run a cute self catered place here. Estuary Studio was simply decorated but had everything we needed. Friendly resident cat greets you on the deck in the morning. Loved the gardens. The place is in Riwaka halfway between Kaiteriteri and Motueka and we liked being away from the "crowds" - perfectly silent all the time. But the...
