First, let me list the positives: - The room was basic but clean. - The showers had hot water and the pressure was good. - They provided 2 small (350 ml) bottles of water. (There were 3 of us, but I think they would have given us another bottle if asked.) - They had free WiFi. - Location was close...

I emailed the hotel to inform them that I would be arriving on the night bus in the morning so I would need to check on early. I heard nothing back but assumed that meant it was ok. I have been travelling around South East Asia for 4 months now and on a lot of night buses. The guesthouses and...

The guesthouse is centrally located in the main tourist strip of this little town. The boat pier for the slow boats is about 1 km away. The room is not fancy but clean, missing any charm but what do you need if you stay only one night like most people here?ot was cheap an convenient, nothing to be bothered by.

This place is great. Everything works well. It is clean and comfortable and inexpensive and centrally located. It is not a major hotel, but it is a perfectly good choice for a guest house. Rooms come with air con, fan, TV, private bath, and wifi. Some rooms have river views. Otherwise there is also a 3rd floor terrace.

My husband and I stated in a double room with AC for one night before The Gibbon Experience and one night after the Gibbon Experience. We had called to book before we arrived. I'd happily stay here again. PROS Very clean! Very good value. Hot showers (you just need to flick a switch which is by the bathroom door, otherwise...

Nice Guesthouse. Clean, big rooms, aircon & fan. No hot shower, just cold. Good location: looking over the Mekong and at the end of the street. Unfortunately, the waitress did not sign after we payed. So when we were checking out, we had to pay again! We tried to explain the miscommunication but no one believed us. We could not...

To my surprise, Huay Xai in general was nice. Very relaxing place and much more fun than Luang Namtha. Sabaidee Guesthouse is a good guesthouse with clean rooms, good showers and a superb view on the Mekong river and the main street in Huay Xai. I think it is by far the best guesthouse in Huay Xai and I would...

“Choose a room at the back to get a good view of the Mekong. Rooms at the back are probably also quieter than those at the front near the road.”

“Try to get a room with a view on the Mekong river. I have been in three rooms over there and there are huge differences. Take a look first I would say.”
