My parents and I stayed one night as stopover on our way to Luderitz. My father communicated with the owner Ria before our arrival and she was extremely helpful with the booking and advising of some of the local attractions. When we arrived at the lodge, the lady at reception seemed very distracted but helped us with relative speed to get our keys. When we were leaving to "walk" to our accommodation, we asked where this particular unit was and it was only at that point that she let us know that it was down the road, completely separate from the main area - definitely not in walking distance. (Not a huge issue for us but could definitely be a problem for some people. ) The accommodation, although a bit small, was well equipped and clean. The "bedroom" did not have full walls up to the ceiling and the bathroom had shutter windows that opened directly into the living area - once again, not a issue but be warned that you hear EVERYTHING. It was OK for one night, but wouldn't consider it for longer than a stopover.

We stayed over for 2 days over Christmas 2019 and found the lodge to be very comfortable and the manager (Shola) to be an excellent host. As most stores were closed the lodge arranged extras for us to ensure we could self cater. We were also assisted with what to do and where to go in town and surrounds, nothing like local knowledge! If you in the area of Oranjemund this will be an excellent choice.

Op My Stoep is well situated for overnight visitors and those that want to use it as a base to explore Oranjemund and surrounds. Lovely large rooms with aircon. Also restaurant and pub where you can mingle with locals.

The self catering units were absolutely fine. Well equipped and with good wifi and TV for the kids. Cute bathroom. Good braai area. You will need a car as oranjemund and the beach are a few kms away. There was no one at check in so we drove around Oranjemund a bit. Apparently this happens especially in the afternoon and sometimes the keys are left in an envelope. Owners accommodated us with a last minute on the road booking and provided some extra mattresses for the kids. Would certainly recommend this place and next time we will try the restaurant.

We stayed 2 nights in December. The unit was well equipped and clean. Good wi-fi connectivity. Laundry service was offered at N$35 per kg for washing and ironing. We requested washing only. Handed in 5 shorts, 9 shirts, 4 pr socks, 7 undies. Washing was returned at 17:50. With haste we made our way to Reception to settle the bill. The reception was already closed but they had left us a bill for N$420!!! By our estimates this cost was for 10kg's of washing and ironing. This weight is IMPOSSIBLE. I do not like being taken advantage of!!!

Response from OnAir21378892267, Guest Relations Manager at Op My Stoep Lodge

Good day, we are so pleased you enjoyed the accommodation! After follow up with the staff, they confirmed that you handed in two bags of laundry, which weighed 12kg's, thus the costs. Perhaps you could stand by in future, when they weigh? That way there is no finger pointing towards the Lodge, which isn't called for, as OMS goes out our way to make our clients comfortable and happy.
