Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the apartments across the road from the main lodge. For a one horse town, this is a fully acceptable place to stay for a night while passing through with family. Clean with a fair breakfast. The bar is very festive at night. Mostly mine and oil field workers staying long term.

The bathroom is looking a bit sad and tired. The toilet seat was loose and we informed them but it wasn't fixed during our stay hopefully it has been repaired since. Good food in the restaurant attached. Beds were comfortable and clean. Very convenient if you have just crossed the border and need an overnight before moving on.

Sad to say - do NOT plan your trip around this establishment. We made a booking, got confirmation of availability and paid 3 months in advance. About a week after payment was made, Op my Stoep notified us that our booking was cancelled without the courtesy of a reason. So, we did not stay there and never will.

It is a good option to stay in (around) Oranjemund and is apparently the best option in town. The rooms are basic but clean. All the towels were worn though. The restaurant is basic as well and we could not understand the "hype" around the steaks. The breakfast was ok.

Op My Stoep is a surprise - a few kilometres from the RSA Namibia border, and outside Oranjemund, it's location belies what you can expect. Helpful friendly staff greet you on your arrival and immediately get you settled in very clean and comfortable rooms. And the kitchen is obviously run by a foodie - brilliant cuisine for the hungry as well as the gourmet. This was easily my best stay in Namibia this year.

Loved this place. The rooms were big and comfortable. The restaurant is superb. The owners are delightful and friendly. I have to say that Mauricio, is extremely handsome as well, so when you combine eye candy, with friendly and hospitable service, you can't go wrong. I would spend a long evening at the bar just to talk with him and look at him! If you ever find. yourself in Oranjemund, or within a few hundred km from there, please be sure to stay here, have a few meals and enjoy the hospitality.

My parents and I stayed one night as stopover on our way to Luderitz. My father communicated with the owner Ria before our arrival and she was extremely helpful with the booking and advising of some of the local attractions. When we arrived at the lodge, the lady at reception seemed very distracted but helped us with relative speed to get our keys. When we were leaving to "walk" to our accommodation, we asked where this particular unit was and it was only at that point that she let us know that it was down the road, completely separate from the main area - definitely not in walking distance. (Not a huge issue for us but could definitely be a problem for some people. ) The accommodation, although a bit small, was well equipped and clean. The "bedroom" did not have full walls up to the ceiling and the bathroom had shutter windows that opened directly into the living area - once again, not a issue but be warned that you hear EVERYTHING. It was OK for one night, but wouldn't consider it for longer than a stopover.

We stayed over for 2 days over Christmas 2019 and found the lodge to be very comfortable and the manager (Shola) to be an excellent host. As most stores were closed the lodge arranged extras for us to ensure we could self cater. We were also assisted with what to do and where to go in town and surrounds, nothing like local knowledge! If you in the area of Oranjemund this will be an excellent choice.

Op My Stoep is well situated for overnight visitors and those that want to use it as a base to explore Oranjemund and surrounds. Lovely large rooms with aircon. Also restaurant and pub where you can mingle with locals.

The self catering units were absolutely fine. Well equipped and with good wifi and TV for the kids. Cute bathroom. Good braai area. You will need a car as oranjemund and the beach are a few kms away. There was no one at check in so we drove around Oranjemund a bit. Apparently this happens especially in the afternoon and sometimes the keys are left in an envelope. Owners accommodated us with a last minute on the road booking and provided some extra mattresses for the kids. Would certainly recommend this place and next time we will try the restaurant.
