This is the 3rd time we've been here, its the best place to stay in Thasos. The team make us feel special every time we go. You can imagine we know wuite a few team members and I can tell you, they are all amazing! They look after you as they would look after their own family. The food is soooo good, our little boy loves it too. We came at 6 months and again at 1 and a half. David also loves the sea, loves the hotel and the people! Big thank you to everyone. We'll see you next year.

Hotel's Favourite
For the benefit of the tape, let it be stated here and now that this hotel is nothing short of exceptional. I'd go as far as also using epic, astounding and superior, but I'm running out of superlatives and you hopefully get the picture already. It is amazing, end of. You'd think that a property with only 35 rooms may feel a bit pokey but it's absolutely not the case. Relaxing, spacious and the total opposite of overcrowded (I'm not sure if undercrowded is a word). We're coming towards the end of a 2 week stay and we've had the most incredible time. Ordinarily it takes us a week to unwind but after a couple of days here we were fully relaxed. That's testament not only to the peaceful surroundings but also to the attentive staff and unbelievably high levels of service. When we checked in (at Alexandra Beach next door as the Elegance doesn't have its own reception) we were met by Eleni, who's a sort of manager and personal concierge to all Elegance guests, and contactable via a direct line if you ever need anything. As we are all inclusive we've had a few extra bits thrown in including massages, a champagne breakfast in bed and meal at the clifftop taverna (best lamb chops I've ever eaten). I think there may be some complimentary watersports included too but given the amount I've eaten there's every chance I'll sink and drown if I venture anywhere near the sea. Eleni booked all of these activities for us and even remembered to ask how they went the day after, which is a lovely personal touch. She also plied us with a couple of welcome cocktails that were so strong neither of us could walk or talk! You know you're staying somewhere nice when you get given your key card inside a little leather wallet when you arrive at your room. We're in room 7015 which is one of the suites with a pool and feels like we have our own mini villa. Well worth paying the extra for the pool if you can as it's totally made our holiday. We were originally due to have a garden view but were upgraded to a sea view, although I'm fairly confident that every room has a partial view of the sea regardless of what you've paid for. Our pool is cleaned daily and we've got a couple of sunbeds on the little patio by the grassy area. We're on the end of a row at the top of the hill, so nice and quiet with a brilliant view. Rooms are big, airy and really well presented. I usually sleep terribly on holiday but since we've been here I've banged in 8 hours every night. So either the bed is very comfortable or my drinks are being laced with rohypnol (probably the former). Our giant 13 year old has the pullout bed and it's more than big enough for her. The bathroom is massive, so is the walk-in shower and there's enough wardrobe and drawer space to accommodate 3 full suitcases of clothing. There's a butler button inside the room if you need anything. Press it and a member of staff is summoned. We haven't had the courage to press it though. Plus it's only a 2 minute walk to the bar if we want drinks. The food here is so good that your head is likely to fall off. Breakfast and lunch are a very high quality buffet and the evening meal is a mixture of buffet with a few A La Carte options also available. The standard is absolutely exceptional and comparable to fine-dining in a high-end restaurant. There's not a chicken nugget, pizza or smiley potato face in sight. The desserts are more like works of art and it feels a shame to eat them, but somebody has got to so fill your boots. I can recommend the semi-dry rosé if you're partial to a bottle of wine with your food. If you fancy an Aperol Spritz then be prepared to be presented with a glass the size of a watermelon. Outside of normal meal times you can get snacks from the beach bar and pool bar3 (toasties, salad bowls etc). Speaking of bars, the choice of drinks is exceptional and they're properly made cocktails by properly trained bartenders. There are no paper cups or pre-mixed drinks in sight. If you order a mojito be prepared to wait while the mint is freshly picked in front of you. Not all cocktails are included in the all inclusive package though so tread carefully and only order items with a * next to them on the menu, or be prepared to pay. Drinks menus can be downloaded via the QR codes that are available on every table. Clever huh? The main thing I can't get my head around is how quiet it is here. This suits us perfectly but given it's still August I was expecting it to be relatively busy. The main pool hardly ever has anyone in it, you've got your pick of the sunbeds and even the Balinese beds seem to always be available. It genuinely feels like we've got the place to ourselves. This may be because there was only an artists impression of the hotel available at the time of booking (it looks exactly the same as all the images) or because people are put off by having to get the ferry (which adds to the general excitement and adventure). Either way it's so unbelievably peaceful, so if you're looking for a kids club, evening entertainment and pool aerobics then this probably isn't the hotel for you. The Alexandra Beach next door has a bit more of that sort of stuff going on and you can use their facilities, but you have to pay for any food or drink. The spa is at the hotel next door and there's also a desk to book a hire car too if you want to explore the island (Skala Marion - lovely beach and turquoise waters. Thassos Town - lots of little alleyways full of shops and restaurants. Limenaria - €7 taxi ride away. Nice chilled vibe with beachfront restaurants and a few shops. Potos - a short walk away and surprisingly mental and chaotic by 8pm. Lot's of gift shops and a small supermarket if you need any supplies). Don't bother bringing beach towels with you as they're provided by the hotel whenever you need them. Bathroom towels are also replaced twice a day which is a nice touch and means you don't have to dry yourself with a flannel if you're the one having the last shower. If you're all inclusive the complimentary mini-bar is restocked every 3 days, so make sure you empty it beforehand as they'll only replace what's been used. The hotel grounds are immaculate and incredibly well maintained. There also seem to be just as many staff as there as guests, so be prepared to be waited on hand and foot. Nothing is too much trouble. George and Vasiliki in the main restaurant really stood out for us but regardless, it's a very personal and attentive service. It's comparable to 5 star hotels in the Middle East or Asia. It really is that good and by far the best hotel we've stayed in anywhere in the world, let alone just Greece. A fortnight at the Alexandra Elegance has given us precious family time together and memories that will last a lifetime. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have. Yamas!

The lovely people who work there and the adorable cats really make the experience perfect. A special thanks to Sophia for her warmth and kindness. Everything is very clean and comfortable, we enjoyed a very relaxing week there. Just some small insignificant details to be improved, like the occasional sewage smell coming from bathrooms and the uncomfortable towel rack squeezed between the shower and the wall. Also, the beach is rocky (but still nice), so beach footwear can be useful. We didn't mind any of these, because the place is so beautiful and the people are so great.

Very nice place with a great team. Thank you, Alexandra Elegance, for making our vacation magical. Delicious food, clean common areas and rooms, but most important of all was the attitude of the people. Extremely friendly, ready to help and assist, always with a smile on their face.

The only reason that I have not given 5 Stars is due to the numerous issue we experienced for the first 4 days of our 14 night stay with the 2 rooms we were allocated. We booked through TUI and the description of the room clearly stated that it included a sofa bed which would have been ideal for our 11 year old son. On arrival to the room, we were greeted with a chair bed which was tiny. Clearly not a sofa bed although the TUI rep tried her hardest to convince herself that it was a sofa bed. On top of this, the safe in the wardrobe broke down twice in the space of a few hours meaning we had to call people out and the shower leaked which meant we had water all over our bathroom floor. It was only through perseverance that we managed to get moved to another room the day after. This room did provide a proper sofa bed yet the TUI rep was still arguing that the original room had been furnished with a sofa bed !! Unfortunately, the second room was beset with issues for the next couple of days. The shower leaked in exactly the same place as the one in the original room, there were clear signs of damp and mould on the outside wall of the bathroom which had been given a quick slap of paint to try and cover up, the maid call pad system wasn`t working so were interrupted by house keepers when not convenient to us, the door entry system stopped working so we were locked out of our room one morning and the electrics kept tripping in the room meaning we lost power numerous times and the air con kept going off in the night. All of the problems took up our time in reporting them and presenting us with non stop hassle for the first 4 days. The TUI rep was in denial about the situation but I do have to say that the Hotels Operations Manager was fantastic in his response and we were given various gestures of goodwill in recognition for the inconvenience caused. The Hotel and facilities are fantastic and the staff are what make this place so special. A bit thanks to Sophia who looked after us admirably and tried her hardest to help sort out the problems. It was lovely to have our own pool which we used a lot towards the end of the day and the main pool is just heaven with amazing views out to sea. The beach although pebbly is great and staff are on hand for anything you need. We stayed B&B as we wanted to experience the numerous Tavernas in Potos and there are some great venues to eat out in. One word of warning for people looking to book a Junior Suite with a Private Pool, both TUI and the Hotel on their respective websites are misrepresenting the rooms and showing some images from inside the Grand Suites which are the room level above. I pointed this out to both TUI and the Hotel but neither have corrected the images at this point in time which is very disappointing. It was such a shame to have experienced the issues that we did but overall we had an amazing time and would like to thank all of the staff for contributing towards our enjoyment.

Great hotell for families with kids. The Pro's - the staff was exceptional. And I mean outstanding. - large and elegant room - verry elegant and well maintained grounds - nice pool area. It is never crowded, you always get surprise treats like icecream or sanwitches and there is a slide for kids The Con's - the main pool has a verry abrasive antislip surface. - the beach is rocky As i said, the hotel is perfect for families with kids looking for an elegant hotel. This shoud be kept in mind, because even if the hotel looks like an oasis of calm and quiet relaxation, kids will be running arround the pool and grounds. So, it is a perfect hotel if you calibrate your expectations and understand that it is a family hotel and not a romantic getaway.
