Travellers' Choice
The Manifold Inn is a delightful 200 year old coaching inn and restaurant that offers warm hospitality and quality home cooked food for visitors to the beautiful White Peak. The mellow stone inn is positioned within its own grounds nestling on the banks of the Manifold River, opposite The Old Toll House which used to serve the turnpike and river ford. This beautiful listed building is positioned close to a number of popular walking and cycling routes, including the Manifold Trail, set amongst the famous Staffordshire Moorlands and Derbyshire Dales which offer some of England's most natural and unspoilt scenery. The Manifold Inn is the perfect place to use as a base for exploring the surrounding natural countryside of the White Peak area or to visit the local Market towns of Bakewell & Ashbourne or Spa towns of Buxton & Matlock and their surrounding attractions. Open all year round and all days most of the year we offer our guests a range of Ales, Larger, Cider, Wines and Soft Drinks. We serve a traditional English Breakfast to guests and in the Summer to Campers. A Lunch Menu is available and during the Summer a Snack Menu if you are just looking for a quick bite to eat. A full Dinner Menu and Wine List is available to be served in our Bar, Conservatory, Snug or Restaurant. We can cater for Dinner Party groups for around 40 guests. We offer 10 en-suite hotel rooms and a 2 bedroom holiday cottage to guests. We often have bookings from large family groups attending a birthday and wedding or walking and cycling groups who want to get to together and enjoy a weekend in the beautiful local area around the River Manifold.

Just had a wonderful 2 night stay at the manifold inn. Fantastic service from a friendly and efficient staff ,from bar to restaurant all were very good. Loved the room with a huge comfortable bed. We dined in the restaurant each night and enjoyed all of the food we ate, the home made chocolate brownie was excellent. Will visit again soon, nice walks along the Manifold trail nearby and a lovely long walk into Harrington along the cycle way.

The room was lovely, the bed was so comfortable the only thing is I do not like feather duvets. We did eat in the restaurant the whole time we stayed and the food was good and the portions were fairly large.

if you want a posh hotel and haute cuisine, don’t stay here. If you want a charming country pub with comfortable clean rooms, lovely staff, and a great atmosphere then book your stay now. Very dog friendly, but suitable rooms are limited so book early if you’re taking your furry friend. We had a really great weekend here and will definitely be returning.

Stayed here for 2 nights in September 2021. Our accommodation was clean and comfortable and exactly what you would expect from a Coaching Inn. All of the staff who we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly and we felt like welcome guests at all times. Breakfast was a traditional full English with other options if wanted. It was well cooked and staff were flexible to accommodate any changes that you might want. We ate here both evenings and the food was excellent quality. Portions were generous and represented really good value for money. The steak and ale pie was probably one of the best I have had. The home made cheesecake was exceptional. All in all a really good stay and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody who just wants a clean room , good quality pub food and a warm welcome.

Excellent service at the Manifold Inn. The staff are efficient, attentive and very pleasant. We spent 2 nights here at the beginning of this week in Room 4 on bed and breakfast basis with booked dinner on both evenings as an extra. Our room with on-suite was warm, clean and bright, on ground floor level in the courtyard, in a block of 4. Breakfast was ample, well cooked and good product. We chose the full English on the 1st morning and it was delicious. Dinner was again very good. We chose Steak and were not disappointed. All round the food and service is excellent. We do not hesitate to recommend The Manifold Inn and will definitely return for another visit.
