We booked as a family of four with 2 adult teenage kids in tow. We do a Christmas break every year and this was our first time at the Kimmel and Kinspa.
On the whole it was really enjoyable.
Before arriving the manager rang to let us know that the hotel was likely to be quiet due to only a small number of overnight stays. This was a good thing to do as it helped manage our expectations. We were upgraded to suites for the duration of our stay which was very welcomed. The rooms were great and enhanced the experience. There wasn't much in the way of comfortable lounge/ bar space that we could use, so having extra space in our rooms was great for chilling out. The communal areas of the hotel could do with updating to match the level of the accomodation.
We didn't mind that the hotel wasn't bursting at the seams with overnight guests. The staff were attentive and made sure we were looked after. The food in the bistro was good too. Afternoon tea could have been benefitted from better presentation. But it was good to have gluten free needs well catered for (as they were for every meal including the Christmas Evening buffet) Christmas Eve evening meal was fab, with good food and good service. And even though there were so few of us staying over the hotel continued with their live entertainment (singer and pianist) which was great and added to the festive atmosphere. Breakfast was cooked to order and pretty good, only down side was the awful coffee that was served!! Christmas lunch was excellent. Fully booked and lots of atmosphere for this. Staff did an brilliantjob of making the event run smoothly. Evening buffet on Christmas day was plentiful, although still quite full after Christmas lunch, it was good to have a buffet to nibble on in the evening. We loved the spa and leisure facilities. Used them on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning and on boxing Day. Had a treatment in the spa which was wonderful.
Overall a lovely stay. It's a shame that so few took advantage of what was a reasonably priced Christmas break package. Although, it was good to see that they were fully booked for Christmas lunch...

Me and my partner stayed for our first night away since having our little boy (and probably our last before the next one pops out!) We absolutely loved the whole stay.. There was a big function on at the time but that did not stop the staff being completely pleasant and helpful at all times.
The spa facilities are amazing, clean, relaxing and just beautiful.. I tried to book a treatment but it was fully booked (which says a lot!) So book in advance if you're planning on having one.
The meal we booked is normally served in the Brasserie, but as there was an event on we had our fine dining meal in the oriental cuisine, and I'm glad because it was beautiful in there! The food was absolutely out of this world!
We had the room service breakfast in the morning and it was perfect and delicious, could not fault it in the slightest.
My only very slight negatives are that our room looked very basic (but didnt have anything missing out of it), there was some damp on the bathroom ceiling and the shower tap had a bit snapped off. But this would not make me stay away from the place. We had a great view to compensate!
Also the reception area and disabled toilet could do with a bit of a face lift.

Honestly though, all in all, we would 100% runaway to this place!

Thank you for an amazing time!

We paid £129 for dinner, bed & breakfast through Groupon. This hotel is not your typical ‘tired’ Groupon hotel. It’s much nicer than usual Groupon hotels. We were in room 105 which was spacious with a modern bathroom (shower didn’t drain quickly) which had the most amazing heated floor. It was roasting hot in there! We found check in easy and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. The spa was great for an hour. It’s fairly small but has clean, modern changing facilities (albeit the ladies was one big room with not many private changing areas). Hairdryers in there were the useless tube type ones. Machine for drying your costume was handy. Lockers were really big and had a 4 digit code rather than needing a token or coin. Towels were available but you can’t wrap your hair in one and take it back into the hotel side as they lose them apparently.
Room 105 had tea/coffee/biscuits, plastic cups but no fridge. The window was openable to let fresh air in. Superking size bed was lovely but very soft. More about the accommodation later.
Evening meal was absolutely superb. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. Classed as fine dining but not as I call ‘up itself snooty’. The chap wearing the suit and running the restaurant was excellent. We enjoyed the food and drink and buffet breakfast next morning was equally as tasty.
Criticism: so frustrated that I was still awake at 4.30am because room 106 next door never shut up talking all night and I could hear every part of their conversations. They weren’t even talking loudly they were just talking normally. The walls should be thicker. Next day I was absolutely shattered from lack of sleep and cancelled plans to go into Conwy as just needed to get home to grab some sleep. We’d have definitely returned in the future had it not been for this.

Don't be fooled by the spa reviews and be lulled into staying here.

If you would enjoy a stay at a hotel that is permeated by the underlying smell of blocked toilets then this might just be for you! Here are some highlights:

The shower dial was broken and fell off half way through showering. However, they did generously provide 2 vials of shampoo (but no body wash, or any other toiletries).

The in room, the tea and coffee facilities came with one solitary tea bag which you can enjoy while looking out over a flat roof with some crumpled up AstroTurf on top. You can also enjoy a bed that, while large, is extremely uncomfortable. But all is saved by the trouser press however, very 80s.

The highlight of room was either the scuffed walls, the bathroom extraction fan that was both obnoxiously loud and didn't work, or the constant door slamming from the hallway and noise from other rooms.

The breakfast came in a pool of watery egg juice! It was overcooked and had clearly been kept warm for some time. It's safe to say I've eaten better food at a Premier Inn. In fact, that's just the thing, you would have a nicer stay at a Premier Inn.

Having looked at the little sticker on the door you will find that this hotels 4 star rating is from 2014! Right now it would be hard pressed to pass the 2 star bar.

Just don't stay here. It's not worth the spa which is the only reason anyone might choose to come here. As a stand alone hotel it's awful.

This was a family group stay with young children for 7 days.

The hotel is in a great location Close to excellent beaches and a decent garden for relaxing. The family rooms were large however with the addition of a double sofa bed the space was much reduced. The rooms were well equipped with plenty of storage cupboards and a modern large bathroom. The brasserie restaurant food was good but the menu was unchanged throughout our visit but provided enough variety. The staff were friendly and mostly responsive to requests.

These were the positives, unfortunately there were many irritating deficiencies due to the apparent lack of visible management of the hotel and the staff.

Staff appeared uncoordinated and some were clearly inexperienced (e.g. a barman) who did not know what brandy was. Consequentially they gave out mixed versions of the house rules and Covid restrictions. The pool in the Spa could not be used by the children because of a problem with the water temperature so it was four days before they could swim. This was not communicated to us until we arrived at the spa for our first booking. Unfortunately the time available during our stay was very short because priority seemed to go to day visitors. At the weekend all the outdoor space and bars were taken over by private parties with little space available for residents. The poor management extended to a view from a window in the corridor of an internal yard which was dirty and littered with debris and equipment giving access to the parts of a hotel you don't want to see.

The restaurant staff rarely got the selections right, on the last morning we were not booked in at all for breakfast . We also recommend that you also check your bar bills for accuracy.

The servicing of rooms was bizarre and the Covid regulations were confused with the different members of staff giving out mixed messages. Even allowing for the Coved rules we felt that towels should have been changed daily and bins emptied, we were informed that rooms were only serviced once during our sty. Because the towel rail runs off the main heating system it was not possible to dry anything including the towels in the room.

In summary a good hotel with potential but spoilt by poor management as all the problems require a little effort to put them right. It seems that this medium sized hotel is trying to be all things to all people and it just does not work.

We got married here back in July of last year and would 100% recommend this venue for anyone considering it. Adrian (who features in many reviews!), could not have been more helpful in planning the day every step of the way and everything went extremely smoothly. The food, from the breakfast to the evening buffet was all fantastic and guests couldn’t stop commenting on how lovely the venue was.

There’s a great outdoor area for photos and even though we had a bit of rain, we were still able to shelter under the giant tree and get some good shots. The spa is also excellent and was just what I needed the morning of the wedding!

The package deal they offer was exceptional value compared to everywhere else we’d looked at and included almost everything we needed (even the wedding cake!), so took a lot of the stress away from the planning. The venue for the evening celebration is great with a perfect set up for a band, which went down a storm!

Overall, we had an amazing day thanks to the wonderful staff at the Kinmel! Thank you!

I paid over the advertised price on another website as this the last room for our 36th anniversary. We stayed in room 217 which was a twin room. During our first night the rain leaked into the room on the right hands side windows and the troughing if was broken and the sound of water was unbelievable!
Then the fire alarm went off on both nights if our stay. On the second night the alarm went off it was apparent there were no staff about? Which was worrying. The dinner menu is very average and the selection we had was 2 out 5. Staff were very polite but there’s something missing. Spa has on my 30 minute slots and for what we paid for 2 night including breakfast £362 I would have expected more . Would I stay there again? Definitely not

The Relax at The Kinmel spa break turned out to be great value for money, with the treatments, thermal spa and room all to a high standard. Too often thermal spas disappoint with hot areas that aren't hot enough and cold areas that aren't cold enough, but here everything was just right—although an iced area would be a welcome addition.

Service was good throughout. We checked into our room to find that it hadn't been properly cleaned, but the hotel apologised immediately and upgraded us to a junior suite without making a fuss.

The only real downside is that the restaurant could try harder with vegetarian options.

Just spent 4 days at the Kinmel and were highly delighted with the service and facilities proveded. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had B&B with evening meals all meals were excellent and varied. The pool and sauna area although small was very nice. The spa treatment area was excellent and the treatments were good value and the staff were very professional and friendly. We can highly recommend the deep tissue massage and the offer of the month was very good value.

I came down for two nights for a family holiday, now I didn't pay so I can't speak about the value of money but the people who did pay (thanks dad) didn't complain about that so I assume it was all good. Plus the leisure facilities were free for hotel guests; a pool, a hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna, all of which was very relaxing, I even got up early on the day of the wedding to get an extra swim in.
The rooms were lovely and clean, even though I first got confused about where my kettle was (hint: it was in the wardrobe) and thought I didn't have one and was concerned. The breakfast was nice and I definitely could have eaten about 10 plates. The restaurant dinner was really delicious although I wish the portion sizes were bigger. And all the staff were so friendly and kind and went above and beyond.
Then for the wedding, the venue was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and helpful, putting their all in. The food was delicious (again I just wanted more).
Couldn't ask for a better first stay in North Wales.

While we were there, there was no bar food menu and the bar was seldom open. Drinks could be ordered at a bar within the restaurant but if they didn't have what you wanted they sometimes went through to the other bar to find the requested drink.

The spa is floor level apart from the treatment rooms, and there is a lift to those. There are steps into the pool, the width of a standard staircase from memory.

I just got back. I noticed a spa deal available until 31st March. it's £75 each and includes a treatment and 2 course lunch/afternoon tea. I'd say it's definitely good value but there is a Groupon deal at the moment £60 each includes overnight stay and use of facilities (no treatment)
