Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went for a day away. Beautiful place, we did the spa experience with massage and a meal at the restaurant. The spa was clean, pleasant and the massage by Murielle was great, professional and caring. The restaurant was really average with 10 minutes of serving for an hour and a half of waiting. If you are vegan and they tell you they can do vegan, run. It was borderline uneatable. Ask for a big salad instead.

Property's Favourite Review
Another 5 star review to add to the list. However, I'll try and add some additional information not already comprehensively covered in the other reviews. The resort is effortlessly cool, stylishly furnished, with amazing super-attentive staff. If Soho House did Chateaux... It's especially good if you have kids aged 4-12 - there were dozens of them - but there's not a lot to do for teenagers. Which is fine as there's plenty to discover in and around the local area; canoeing at Roquebrun, zip wiring at Beziers Adventure and an incredible high octaine funfair park called Fabrikus World all about 30 minutes drive away. Although there were lots of people there it never felt crowded, with a predominantly UK clientele wafting about the place. Food was great but with a large supermarket 10 minutes away in Magalas it's easy to balance fine dining with handy self-catering. The bar-b-q was well used and they provide charcoal and firelighters. The wine tour with Darren was fun and it's a nice way to chat to a few of the other guests. We very rarely go back to the same place but this might well be the exception. We are are particularly looking forward to visiting in October and / or May for a long weekend out of school holidays. A very classy place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our post-Christmas retreat in the Chateau, vineyards & pretty mountain towns around St Pierre de Serjac. A beautiful, spacious and comfortable house in the grounds of the old Chateau, wonderful amenities, fine dining, a reviving spa, bikes and walking trails to explore the stunning surrounds. The staff at St Pierre de Serjec were supper attentive and helpful. And we ever stayed up for the New Year's Eve fireworks! Turned out to be the perfect festive tonic! You may well enjoy languid and lazy summers by the pool here, but St Pierre de Serjac also makes for a perfect winter getaway.

We recently stayed at the chateau with my partner, and the experience was fantastic. The property, surrounded by vineyards, is an idyllic spot and both the room and breakfast were excellent, but the best thing was the friendliness, commitment and professionalism of the staff. A 10 star experience that was more than worth the money we paid.

Think Soho House crossed with the Pig in Studland Bay and you have a good idea of what this place is like. Relaxed, relatively informal, but with high standards of service and attention to detail. The design is beautiful, functional modern crossed with period French, and instills an instant feeling of calm and welcome. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Facilities are second to none. Wi-Fi was great everywhere. Set in beautiful grounds, this was a perfect place for a four-day getaway with friends over new year. Oh yes, also easy access to some interesting towns - Narbonne for market - and also outdoor activities like walking, biking, boating on nearby rivers, and numerous caves and wineries to explore. Great spot - loved it.

I just returned from a 5 night stay with friends at Chateau St Pierre de Serjac and I couldn’t rate this place high enough. We stayed in one of the houses which was spacious and comfortable with a log fire which we lit most evenings. It was a great base to explore the area from. The bed rooms were all en-suite and had one of the most comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in with the best pillows ever. The staff at St Pierre were friendly, professional & attentive at all times and always had great suggestions what to do and see in the area. This included a hike in Gorges h’Eric followed by some wine tasting in Roquebrun and a few wine purchases. Sure it would be rude not to!! They had bikes at the chateau and on one of the days we took them and cycled around the vineyards and exploring the countryside which was fun. We also used the pool and sauna at the chateau as well as the restaurant and had some great meals there. All in all, we had a great time at the chateau and would recommend it to any one who likes their luxury and comfort as well as exploring the outdoors, good food and wine. We are already planning our return visit in the summer for some road cycling.

The effort this team goes to to make you feel at home is incredible. Not only that the way they treat you is cool, relaxed and down to earth, as well as being 5*. Location and facilities are top class. If you need to relax, enjoy the region and take a step back from the madness of the beach towns, this is exactly where to do it. This was our second time and won't be our last. Thank you to you all. You have created a dreamland for us and our little baby.

Tourist trap. It’s in the middle of nowhere and the staff couldn’t care less. Get ready for a 5 pm checkin and 10am checkout. They have you when you arrive. For the money I’d stay anywhere else along the French coast. I’m annoyed we stayed here at all.

Response from Darren Kennedy, Marketing at Chateau St Pierre de Serjac
Responded 19 Sept 2023
Dear Andy, thank you for taking the time to leave reviews on several review sites. We appreciate our estate did not meet your expectations or requirements. However, we respectfully disagree with your comments and so would like to offer some perspective and explanation to future readers. Firstly, we think that “the middle of nowhere” is somewhat subjective: our estate is situated in a beautiful rural environment with superb views over the surrounding countryside. However we are just five minutes’ drive (ten on a bike) from three lovely villages; fifteen minutes from the beautiful town of Pézenas and twenty minutes from the small city of Béziers. And if you want more urban, we are under an hour from Montpellier. It is not an urban environment that’s for sure, but we don’t believe in the middle of nowhere does it justice. Check in time for our hotel rooms is 4pm and check out is at 11am which is pretty standard in France. However as part of a large wedding party you stayed in a three bedroom villa of over 140m². It obviously takes some time to ensure a property of this size is perfect for the next guests, as it was for you, and so check-in is generally no later than 5pm. This was communicated clearly to you in advance by both us and the wedding couple. In reality the property was ready for you at 4pm, indeed earlier for others attending the wedding. We request hotel guests check out of their room at 11am with villa check out at 10am, again to allow for the deep cleaning of the property for the next guests. Of course, we facilitate late check out (free) whenever possible. On this occasion almost the whole estate had been booked out for the wedding, and with the majority leaving that morning we had to turn the entire estate (36 villas) around in 6 hours, and so it was not possible to facilitate your request beyond 11am when you checked out. Our team did offer to store your luggage to allow you to enjoy the estate for the rest of the day and showers and changing facilities are available to facilitate exactly this. Your hanging up on Albert when he tried to explain didn’t really allow him explain or apologise for this inconvenience. Despite the inclement weather it was a lovely wedding and the team put a great deal of effort into ensuring a great day. The bride and groom were delighted, which for us is the most important thing. I am of course, at your service for any further assistance. Best regards, Nathalie

We stayed here as guests at a wedding - the venue is fabulous! Very clean and spacious modern villas, some with their own pools. Food was excellent, wine was excellent. Highly recommend for a wedding venue. Little bit difficult to get to from the UK as not many flights to Bezier and Montpellier airport is 1.5 hours by car, but worth the trip.

My wife and I have stayed at Chateau Capitoul and recently St Pierre Serjac. Both properties were world class from start to finish - impeccable grounds, 5 star amenities and attentive staff. Some of the best pools I've seen - the views alone are worth the stay. I highly recommend any of Domaine & Demeure Chateaus if you're seeking a luxury experience nestled in the south of France - 10/10
