This is one of the best places to stay in the Blue Mountains. It's rustic in that there is no electricity or hot water. But don't be turned away, this authentic hostel offers beautiful views, access to hike Blue Mtn. Peak, farm to table meals and all of the wonderful hospitality of Jamaicans.

We loved Whitfield Hall (with the one exception that the shower didn't seem to work). Everton and the rest of the staff were very friendly and made delicious food (especially breakfast which I will remember as the best I had in Jamaica). Hotel pick up was efficient, grounds and communal areas are really nice. Stayed in the Colonel Whitfield room... More

We only stayed one night but had a great time. Upon arrival we were simply shown our room and told to make ourselves comfortable. We brought dinner with us and ate on their picnic tables outside while watching a beautiful sunset surrounding by huge Eucalyptus trees. They also give you the option of ordering dinner for them for a small... More

Spent a night here. Tons of character. Beds in attic were fun. Getting there is an adventure and great access to Blue Mountain. Rode our bikes to the top then blasted down back to the Lodge. Hella fun. Reminded me of camp. Bring some warmish clothes. Gets cold up there.

If you are planning to hike to the Blue Mountain Peak, well this place is perfect. To get there, you have to go to Mavis Bank, with your car or taxi. before this, ask for a pick up from there, Whitfield will send you a driver. We had Roydel, very nice guy. don't go with your own car even if... More

We stayed here after hiking up to the peak for the sunrise. It was just what we wanted - a beautiful place to relax, see the process and taste Blue Mountain Coffee, eat great food, and have a good rest. Everton made us feel at home and Rasta (nickname) gave us a tour of their tiny coffee production, of which... More

Whitfield Hall is full of history. It is quaint and lovely. Everton will make you feel at home. The coffee they make at the estate is amazing. The food is very very good. It might not be luxurious but is extremely comfortable and homely. Must stay if you're in Jamaica.

We were lucky enough to stay at Whitfield Hall on Tuesday 21 January, Roydell picked us up in the Land Rover (we travelled in the back, great fun and met some of the very lovely local people who also got lifts) from Mavis Bank and were welcomed by Everton. Beautiful place with lots of history and character, we loved the... More

We stayed here for one night to do the 2am hike up the blue mountain peak. The road up the hall is quite bumpy, but no worse than what I have seen in India. Whitfield hall was very simple and comfortable and perfect for our needs. We had dinner and breakfast (they cooked cabbage for me separately since I am... More

Whitfield Hall is a must do if you hike the peak but it is also an awesome place to get out of the Jamaica Rat Race while on the island. No hustling or hassling just peace and quiet. Talk about a cup of Jamaican Coffee, it doesn't get any better than Whitfield Hall. Rustic to say the least so if... More
