A magical place to disconnect with personal touches wherever you look. The small pool is perfect and the views are stunning. There is no need to drive to the next restaurant as the food offering is some of the best in the region. We loved it here, too bad we could only stay one night (book early)

This is the most divine small beautifully formed tower, excellently restored by the owner Costas who has thought of everything. The attention to detail is second to none, it is a wonderful little haven with the most staggering view. And to top it all the food is truly delicious - don’t bother to eat out in the evening or you will miss the best food in Greece. Costas is a delight to talk to and will steer you in all the right directions, along with his other excellent staff. I note one review complaining of the room facilities - the actual comments not entirely inaccurate but they obviously didn’t ‘get’ the point of this fabulous hotel - please ignore them!

We had the most amazing and unique experience at the Tainaron Blue Resort! Koalas and his team greeted us with such warmth and kindness. The tower has only three very unique (historic) rooms so it really feels like it’s your own oasis in the midst of Grecian ruins and nature. Not only is the location special, the food is outstanding. Every detail is put into their dishes and we throughly enjoyed every meal! The breakfast is by far one of the most delicious breakfasts we’ve had. Served in courses, be prepared to fully immerse yourself in a luscious experience overlooking the ruins and the sea. For the adventurers there is plenty of hiking, exploring caves and water sports near by. A beautiful sand beach with a beach club is only a few minutes away by car. Although it may seem a bit out of reach, you have everything you need for a lovely vacation!

We have just spent 3 nights in this idyllic spot. Kostas and his small team run a very welcoming and discrete place that you won't want to leave. The food is excellent (we chose to eat here every night), and served wherever you choose on the property. Highly recommended.

It is with great sadness that I write this review, after a year of Covid lock-downs, I was looking forward to visiting this beautiful hotel. I think that it is important though for other people to know both sides before visiting, especially given the very high rate (340 euros per night). I will start with the positive, it has truly amazing views, the owner's idea of restoring the castle is great and the hotel staff (of 3) is very polite. On the other hand, the room that we got (one of the 3 that the hotel has) had a curtain instead of a bathroom door on one side while it was completely open on the other side. The ladder leading to the bed was very steep and the bed relatively small. There was a lot of noise coming through from the kitchen and the air-condition was old so noisy (was working fine). I am not going to blame the owner for getting stung by a wasp, however I would have appreciated it if he had shown some interest or even if the hotel had a first aid kit, especially since he is aware of the HUGE wasp problem the hotel and the area have. There is no way you can have some food or a drink next to the pool as you will immediately be surrounded by 10-15 wasps. Additionally, the owner thought it would be a good idea to clean the pool on a Saturday, blocking the pool from 12pm until 4:30pm, when we requested for the cleaning machine that was in it to be removed. The kitchen service is extremely slow, dinner with the 3 course meal that they offer can last up to 3 hours, leaving you waiting 20-30 minutes between each course. There were other issues too, like the owner serving us the specific dishes that he wanted even though we had ordered something different (without offering to replace it when we reminded him that we ordered something different), but maybe this was a one-off incident.

We stayed in Tainaron Blue Retreat one night during our road trip in the Peloponnese and it was the best choice out of all, a unique experience to sleep in a renovated old Tower with the finest materials, an oasis of piece with breathtaking views to the Mediterranean sea. Kostas took very good care of us and made our stay comfortable. He anticipated our needs providing handful tips. The slow-food breakfast was perfect to energize your day! I have travelled a lot and this place marked my memories forever. A hidden treasure perfect to unwind in. Efgaristo!
