The Cottages was a charming, cozy, and comfortable first stop for our trip from the States. A short drive from Dublin, we were centrally located to explore Meath and Louth Counties, but to be honest, the best part was curling up in a warm sitting room or taking a walk by the sea. Liz runs a tight ship and was always around to answer questions and take care of things. When we travel, we prioritize comfort, cleanliness, and quiet, and this was the perfect restful start to a somewhat hectic vacation. Hopefully our travels will bring us back for a longer stay.

Dear Marjorie, We are delighted you had such a perfect start to your Ireland experience. A little time to gather yourselves after your long journey, it's always such a chore to get away, so many things to think about and organise and then the long haul ever takes it's toll! Good to know that you got to recharge those batteries before taking on Dublin and the Boyne Valley. We hope you had a wonderful trip and continued to gather great memories. Thank you for posting, we look forward to welcoming you back to stay with us sometime in the future. With warmest regards, Roger, Liz and all the Team.

Property's Favourite Review
My wife and I, and our two adult daughters started our Irish holiday here for 5 nights. We like self-catering as it is a lot cheaper than eating out all the time, and we enjoy cooking together. We wanted to be close to the Boyne Valley attractions (Brú na Bóinne, etc), and the girls had tickets to Harry Styles at Slane Castle. And we like unique places to stay that have character. The Cottages certainly delivered on what we were looking for! The cottage itself (Apple Loft) had lots of room, was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen and living room are open to each other with a fantastic view of the Irish Sea. We were able to spend a lot of time relaxing, cooking, and eating in this space. The bedrooms upstairs both with on-suites (bathtub AND shower) made for comfortable nights sleeping. The grounds themselves are lovely - as you can see by the pictures. June was a good time of year to be there with everything in bloom. Being on the beach was great - had several nice walks. We did go into Laytown and Bettystown - frankly not much to attract us to either town so we mainly spent our time at the cottage! Only regret is that we STARTED our holiday here vs. finishing it here! Kind of made everywhere else we stayed suffer by comparison. If you are after a lot of excitement and activity, this is likely not the place for you - stay in Dublin (for a LOT more $$). If you want a comfortable base to explore all the attractions of Meath, where you can kick-back and relax with family, this is the place for you.

My husband and I were blessed to stay at The Cottages in mid-October ~ just in time to see the garden bursting with autumn colors and textures. The grounds at the inn are a wonderland; once the gate closes behind you, the world is left behind. Decor at The Cottages is to the highest standard and their housekeeping team is top notch. Roger and Liz are charming and hospitable ~ and Poppy the Bassett Hound is happy to greet arriving guests. Prior to our stay, Corrine was a huge help with details and upon arrival, Mel welcomed us with the informative instructions for our stay. We stayed in the warm and cosy Apple Loft with a lovely view of the sea from the living room window. You will feel right at home upon entering and you'll have everything you need and more for kitchen & bath. Liz made lovely scones & jam which we enjoyed at breakfast. We were especially grateful for the washer/dryer in the unit, as this was the last leg of our journey. Very easy access to nearby coastal towns (we had dinner in Skerries) and into Dublin City or Howth, all of which were highlights of our trip. We can't recommend The Cottages enough and would absolutely return. "Go raibh maith agaibh" to Roger & Liz, Corrine, Mel and all the staff for a relaxing stay by the sea!

We had a delightful stay at the Sea Bank Cottages, we stayed in the Honeymoon cottage, which was well appointed, with all the appliances required for a self-contained holiday. The cottages are gated from the road, and from the beach, so you felt secure in your space. We were warmley welcomed, and shown around the cottage. Instruction manuals for all the appliances were present, if required. The owners, Rodger and Liz have gone beyond what we have experience in the past, as far as making sure that everything is how it should be. Over the week they made themselves known to us, and we found them to be delightful people. The gardens surrounding the cottages are also a delight, and we took time to sit out and enjoy the hard work that Rodger and Liz had obviously put into them. We felt they turned holiday accommodation into a home. We talked with another vacationer who also enjoyed the cottages, so much so that, she had been coming back repeatedly over the years. This is how hospitality should be done. All too soon our week was over, but memories are made from these occasions. We would not hesitate to go back again.

Between coming from and returning to busy Dublin (as visitors) we really enjoyed our stay at The Cottages, specifically Honeymoon Cottage, our home for five days. And, yes, it felt like home the moment we entered this lovely little house. Small as it seems from the outside, it offers all you need and has a really good layout. I loved the garden room, a quite recent addition to the 300-year-old cottage. It offers light from the front, the garden and a skylight. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom has ample space for a shower and a bath. There is even a utility room - very useful. The cottage is tucked away in an apple orchard, with beautiful flowerbeds nearby and ripening apples almost dropping onto our garden table. A short stroll past the neighbouring cottages and you are on the beach, which stretches for miles to your left and right. A big thank you to Liz and Roger for their hospitality, their charm and kindness. We've recommended The Cottages since and would visit again.

These charming cottages need to be experienced to understand their magic. Amidst the chaos of modern life, this haven offers an escape. A beautiful retreat in picturesque Co. Meath. With its lush gardens, expansive beaches, invigorating sea swims, and delightful coffee shops just a stone's throw away, every convenience is at hand. These cottages are well appointed, really comfy, warm and always pristine. The hosts extend a warm, authentic welcome, always delighted to greet returning visitors. Undoubtedly, this enchanting place will capture your heart as it did ours!

What an amazing place. The cottages, the gardens, the hosts. Myself and my family spent three nights at the cottages in July. We can't wait to return. It really is the most spectacular place. We loved it. Thanks to Liz for all the beautiful plants. I can't recommend these cottages enough. Planning to return in the very near future. John Donohoe, Cavan.

We started our vacation in Ireland with 3 blissful days at the Cottages. As you go through the gates into the property, the stress of the world melts away. We had a not so pleasant time at the airport and Liz and Richard immediately helped us de-stress. The pot of tea and homemade scones upon arrival certainly helped. Our cottage was lovely and we felt at home right away. Walking through the gardens that are so stunningly beautiful, they leave you speechless. You could spend hours there and keep finding flowers and plants more breathtakingly beautiful. And walking the beach on the Irish Sea is magical. You will love this place and want to go back as soon as possible. Darlene and Paul
