Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Property's Favourite Review
The apartment was so comfortable and clean sheets and bedding were spotless. The view from our room was breathtaking. The location perfect for cycling and running. Very centrally located campsite with all facilities. Two restaurants a mini market and reasonable prices. At Samyr restaurant we were always greeted by Adriano who was so polite and efficient. The receptionist Carolina so gentle and helpful to the thousand questions we have asked. Camping Olympia was truly for us a home away from home. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a one to treasure. Till our next visit. Grazie a tutti. Carmelo e Marisa di Malta 🇲🇹

I’ve just returned from a 3-week winter trip to this fantastic campsite. The facilities are first rate – especially the showers which have endless hot water – just what you need after a hard days skiing. There is a very good ski and boot store with heated boot racks – nice toasty boots to put on. The site runs a free shuttle service to the local train station or the Nordic centre and with free travel on all the buses and trains a vast area of both downhill and Nordic skiing is within easy reach. In fact, the Nordic trails pass within 200m of the campsite. The camp bar was very warm and cosy and the takeaway Pizzas were fantastic. I would especially like to praise the staff, both office and grounds who were incredibly helpful when I fell ill and had to be hospitalised. They ensured my Motorhome was safe and the gas heating stayed on. I will 100% return next winter to finish the skiing I started.

I can only confirm the positive opinions of our peers. The very convenient location, the impeccable cleanliness, very smooth logistics and everything what a camping guest needs available. 1st time that we found a dishwasher in a camping!!!! The pleasant downtown can be reached on foot. Very much recommended.

It was my first time camping and it was a wonderful experience. I ended up staying longer than planned. I felt at home since I arrived. The Camping has everything you might need and more. All areas were really clean. There’s a swimming pool, a couple of restaurants and bars, a mini zoo, a wellness center, a lot of green areas. Totally recommended. Plus, the personal is very helpful and kind.

If you like to camp I suggest you not to stay in this camping, it looks like a militar base with a lot of rules and cold people, plus is close to a main road and a railway. It is little and crowed. It is not a camping it is an hotel that looks like a camping. But I have to say that the little farm they keep it is very nice for children.

The camping is located near the center of Dobbiaco. It's big and well equipped in terms of toilettes and showers. Unfortunately we were treated like unwelcomed tourists from the first day. The restaurant-bar of the camping, called 'LA BAITA' its managed by a group of 5 waitresses and I must sincerely say that they treated us in a very unpleasant way, from the first day. They were grumpy, sometimes rude and impatient. I will not recommend this place because the atmosphere is negatively effected by the bad manners of the staff.

I went to Dobbiaco with my wife, in a camper, to camp on the Dolomiti. The camping site we chose was amazing. I personally found the hospitality, facilities and organization at level with the stars declared on the website ! Let me explain : At the entrance you have also a restaurant with top notch food in generous portions. Close to the entrance there is a supermarket with fresh fruit and bread ( I counted at least 6 varieties of bread not including croissants with cream or chocolate). Swimming pool and sauna are available and, if one wants, there is a massage. Fot hiking Fans you can book directly witha trip with a guide (we had Christine who is an experienced and charming guide) and enjoy different locations and difficulties on the Dolomite. So too make a long story short, I had a bloody good time and I'll go back ASAP!!

It was over crowded and we did not felt welcomed when we ask infos at the reception. We had one very disappointing experience at the reception. It is a very commercial camping. Everything you might need, you will pay. Some campsites there are things you can borrow especially if you are a backpacker. The facilities are ok. But some toilets, the flush are not working. The only comfortable place is the grocery and the restaurant. We better ask infos from there. The restaurant and grocery staff are very friendly and welcoming. The surface was hard it was a challenge to pitch especially if you stay only for a night. We were glad when we left. We cannot recommend this campsite.

Response from Mirco K, Inhaber at Camping Olympia

Dear Guest, we are sorry that your stay here with us was disappointing and you did not felt welcome. We really try to give that special welcome feeling to our guests. Normally we are very good in doing that because we are a family run camspite and not a "very commercial" one as you said. Further in our daily price almost everything is included, just as electricity, highspeed wifi, showers, toilets, heated swimming pool, we also offer guided hikes for free, 5 times a week. As you see all service we offer you don't have to pay for, except for wellness, massages and food of course. Are you sure you stayed on our campsite? Anyway we are glad to here that you felt at least welcome in our restaurant and grocery. Suggestions are very welcome and we always try to improove, so please feel free to contact us by phone or email to tell us more about your experience. Thanks in advance. Best regards Mirco Klettenhammer

We stopped here for one night during our road trip through the alps. It is a beautiful campsite. Electric hook up, water & waste water at each pitch that we could see. Really helpful staff, to the point that they helped translate the menu. The food in the restaurant was reasonably priced, good size portions and nice, with some very taste little bits of bread. There was the availability for fresh pastries in the morning. Extremely clean toilets & showers with hairdryers free to use. Would go back if out that way again. Shame we couldn’t stay longer. Completely understand why it had five stars. Excellent

The staff was very attentive, helpful, and accommodating. The facilities were very clean and comfortable. The tent plot was comfortable, spacious and conveniently-located. Dogs are also more than welcome. The animal park located behind the camping ground was pretty fun to visit. The cafe/pizzeria offers especially tasty food for a reasonable price.
