We have just arrived home from a fantastic 2 week stay at the Kapetanios Apts. It was excellent from the start to the finish. Once our coach arrived at the hotel, we were immediately greeted by Spiros, he was super smiley and helpful from the get go, he helped take our suitcases and led us up to our apartment. We stayed in the Jasmine apts which had a slight incline up to them but was worth it for the balcony views we had. The room itself was very tidy and well cleaned. Every morning you could hear the extremely cheerful maid, doing her rounds, saying hello to everybody and dropping off fresh bedding and towels. (Due to COVID she couldn’t come into the rooms other than to drop of the linen when you wasn’t there) but she was so friendly and cheerful. The pool area was lovely with free use of the loungers and mattresses. Bar and restaurant were both great. Food was extremely tasty (large portions) and the bar was well stocked. The beach and shops are only a 5 minute walk. It is however down a steep hill with a sharp road bend to be mindful of but not to let this put you off as the views and service from the hotel were totally worth it! Spiros and Spiridoula were our hosts and what an excellent friendly service they provided. We could not fault them at all. Nothing was too much trouble for them and whatever you needed they were happy to help. We spent more time at the hotel when Spiros seemed to be on shift and we would give him a 10/10 for his hospitality. He would make his way around the room, speaking and chatting to all the guests. He occasionally joined (and beat us) during a game of pool but not without making sure all other guests were being looked after and had everything they needed. He was an all round great host who was truly passionate about making his guests happy. Spiridoula was just as friendly, always there to help with a lovely smile. The chef provided the tastiest of meals. We personally preferred everything we ate at the apartments to the restaurants down in the town but all was still very lovely! The locals were all friendly. Super cheerful at the mini markets and all the staff at the restaurants, shops and bars were also lovely and ready to help. After what has been a tough year for all and especially their businesses everyone was in such great spirit and it was the best to be around. This was our first time in Corfu but most definitely won’t be the last! Highly recommend this place!…
Stayed here for 2 weeks, we were in room 13 which was lovely and quiet balcony not overlooked by anyone, Bar and pool area nice and clean, staff helpful, due to coronavirus virus cleaners not allowed in your but clean towels and linen left outside your room this worked very well. Aircon 40 euros a week. Only real downside was the wifi which even in the bar/pool area was poor.
We booked this within a week with Jet2, as our trip to Spain was cancelled last minute due to the government guidelines on travelling to Spain. I’d read a few reviews on trip advisor before we arrived and we decided to take a private taxi up to the apartments. 45 mins as opposed to two hours on a bus. We were greeted by Spiros and Spiridoula on arrival, and made us feel at ease straight away. We paid the extra for air con and safety deposit box. The air con was very good and after long days at the fantastic pool or the local beach (5mins down the road) it was very welcome. As we arrived around 8pm we took a stroll into Agios Stefanos to get our bearings and we were immediately greeted with one of many truly amazing sunsets you will encounter here. Our daughters were instagramming every night! The apartment was very clean and towels changed every few days. Due to Covid there are hand sanitiser dispensaries all around the resort and staff take great care when serving. We had to wear masks in shops and taxis, but everywhere else is fine. The pool area was very comfortable and the pool was really nice especially for families. Loungers were great and separate areas for drinks etc, was nicely done too. The snacks during the day were very reasonably priced as were the excellent drinks. Local beer very nice and my wife said the frozen margaritas were better than we had in Mexico! Evening menu was varied and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend the feta with garlic, prawn saganaki, Greek salad and beef stifado! There was also a daily three-course set menu for €9. We hired a car from the village for seven days and took trips to nearby Porto Timoni, (15 mins) Paleokastritsa (45mins) and further, north east to Agni, San Stefano (NE), Kalami, to see Mrs Durrell! We also ventured into Corfu town. (All around 45 mins drive) Would recommend them all. Do watch the roads in Corfu, slightly challenging compared to what you may be used to in the Uk! The local village was reasonably quiet due to the pandemic, but in a nice way, everyone made us feel very welcome everywhere we went. There was a good choice of tavernas and supermarkets. A few nice beach bars which were good too and had sun beds for hire. The local beach is stunning and with water sports if you fancy, sea was really lovely and clear. Sandy beach here but if you take trips to the north east, you’ll need swimming shoes as those beaches are more pebble/shingle After dinner we’d usually sign off with a night cap at the bar, and we can’t thank Spiridoula, Spiros, Giannis and all the staff enough. I would highly recommend Kapetanios to anyone wanting to visit the beautiful, blue island of Corfu. A fantastic family holiday. Graeme Down…
These are great apartments with very helpful staff especially Spiros who was very helpful and funny. The bar was good and the food they made was as good as any of the local restaurants. The view were excellent over San Stafanos and the with sunsets Is also had a good pool with enough sunbeds for all. All in all one of the best place we have stayed in with all our visits all over the greek islands.
Lovely warm welcome from Spiros who carried my case up to the Jasmine apartments which are lovely and private with sweet smelling jasmine and grapes surrounding your terrace which were given some later by the friendly gardener! We always expect Greek apartments to be basic but this was the best we`ve had with enough kitchen equipment and a decent shower with a tray so the floor didn`t flood! The maid was very friendly and cleaned every day, towels changed every other day and beds changed. Only odd thing was we had to buy our own toilet roll as only one given for the week! The bar and food there was excellent, great service too and so friendly. Lovely pool and always plenty of sunbeds. Wonderful sunsets to watch on your walk down to town and then there plenty of choice with restaurants. We did not have a bad meal anywhere and our fave ones were "2 Stars" as delicious food and so friendly and "Mythos" ..waiter is hilarious! The beach is clean with soft sand and the sea is shallow for quite a way out and water beautiful and clear. The very chatty, friendly Dimitri served us on our sunbeds from the Havana bar and the food was excellent. We would definitely go back to Kapetanios again and we met many people who had been several times.…
