So impressed with this little hotel, the place was immaculately clean, the staff were really friendly, the room was again super clean, with beautiful surroundings and a real effort has been made to update the rooms reccently. It's very close to a little town, with restaurants, supermarkets, souvenir shops, a bakery, and the beach. I traveled with Jet2, so was a little concerned after having read some of the other reviews regarding being put in a "block out the back", and whilst the part I was put in was separate, it's been reccently renovated, and had beautiful plants on the walk up to it, but definitely wouldn't be suitable for anyone with a physical disability, as you have to climb quite a steep slope to get to the apartments (i'm plus size and i managed, but it does take some physical effort). My theory is that they've purchased a building next to the hotel (as it had a different name on the gate leading up to it) and because those rooms are a short walk away from the pool/bar, they've put the customers who aren't paying as much in there, but it didn't bother me at all, please check out my photos to see what I mean. Aircon - I took a small, rechargeable, handheld fan I got off amazon with me, in a bid to avoid the extra aircon fees (€10 a day). When I was there, it got to about 33°C during the day, and it was very warm at night, but with the thick walls, cold stone floors, and decent shutters, the room didn't get very warm at all, so I managed just fine with my little fan. The maids also tended to leave my patio doors open, with the shutters locked, to allow a bit of air flow to the room when I was out The hotel is situated on a hill, which means it has beautiful views, you can see the sea from outside your room, and across the sprawling hills. It is a rather steep hill though, so take comfortable shoes to hike up and down if you want to go out for dinner (and you'll probably want a shower when you get back (it's hot work). I was a little embarrassed the first night as I had to stop on my way back from dinner, winded by the hill, but by the end of the week I'd gotten used to it and slowly strolled up quite happily, very glad I brought sturdy sandals with me though. The food in the hotel is basic, but fine for lunch or a snack, I tended to buy bread, fruit, iced tea, cheese and tomatoes at the super markets, make my own breakfasts and lunches, and go out for dinner. There's no need to lug water back up the hill though, as the bar has litre bottles for €1, and bigger bottles as well). There were quite a few restaurants nearby, but they are quite expensive, having not been to corfu before I was shocked at how much everything was, expect to pay around €15-20 for a main course, per person. I walked down to the beach one morning and came back through the main strip on my way back and found a little bakery up some steps, which had lovely pastries and bread, so I highly recommend that, I think it's the only bakery along the road. There are a couple of places to rent quad bikes and scooters along the strip, if that's something you're looking for. I didn't personally use them, but plenty of other people did. I looked it up, and I think they were about €50 a day, there are places to park at the hotel if you did that, or hired a car. The rooms were lovely, basic but well maintained, with some little extra touches like nice bedding, a dressing table, and some small decorative items. You could tell they really took pride in making the place nice. Having not visited Greece or any of the islands before, the bathroom took me aback, it was again very clean, but the most basic bathroom I've ever used in a hotel, perfectly functional though. The kitchen had lots of utensils I didn't expect to see, including a strainer, can opener, and would have been quite functional if you'd wanted to do some proper cooking, plenty of pots, pans, a toaster, a little oven, 2 hob rings, and a fridge. The maids were great, came every day except Sunday, changed the bedding once a week, and bins everyday. They really earn their tips, the place was incredibly clean. The pool was nice, again clean, and well maintained. People from outside the hotel visited, as many of the local hotels advertised free pool, sunbeds and brollys, I guess to attract people in to buy the food and drink. It was quiet when I was there, so I happily found a sunbed and brolly everyday, set up camp with my book and towel, even took my book in the pool multiple times to just float around and read when there were no children about. I mention children, but it was very quiet, only a handful of families with children, so very suitable for someone like myself, couples, or families. Overall I would highly recommend Kapetanios, it was budget friendly, quiet, with beautiful views and good amenities.

We booked this holiday three weeks before we travelled and got a great price with Jet2, almost half the advertised price, this was our second visit to San Stefanos, previously staying next door to the Kapetanios at the Teresa Sunset Hotel. We were delayed and arrived early hours of the morning, we were met by the friendly staff and shown to our room. Our studio, number 25, was clean but very shabby, it really needs a big refurbishment, we can’t speak for other rooms though. The air conditioning was a must whilst we were there, but cost 55 euros for the week. The room was not cleaned every day as stated, we had to ask for it to be cleaned a couple of times, sheets were changed twice though. The public areas, bar and dining area and pool are great, plenty of sun beds, parasols and shaded outdoor dining areas. In these areas there is a good Wi-Fi signal, and if you have a room close to these areas then a signal is available. The food available from breakfast time until 7 pm is very good and a reasonably priced. These apartments are situated on a steep climbing road on the edge of San Stefanos, but not too far out and is a few minutes to the beach, down a series of steps. The beach is sandy and has plenty of sun beds and parasols at around 8 euros per day, the sea is really safe for small children as it gently slopes away and even 50 metres out is still only a metre deep. The Havana beach bar is a must for a beer and lunch. San Stefanos has plenty of bars, restaurants and entertainment considering it is a small resort, and we can’t wait to return in the future hopefully, although we would not stay at the Kapetanios Apartments again unless there is a major refurbishment of the rooms.

We visited here the last week in June. When we arrived we were given a studio in Villa Elaionas which is above the Kapetanios. The studio was a throwback from the 80s. This is there overspill. Don't know why we were in the overspill as we had booked it in Feb. To say it was a dump was an understatement. We eventually got moved into a studio in the images. We were told those studios are for private bookings. Beware.

A superb place to stay. Great staff lovely pool. The cleanest accommodation and general areas I have encountered in Aghios Stefanos. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a great view and was extremely clean. Costa and other bar staff were immensely helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

We didn't stay here but spoke to people who did and they really rated it. We stopped off for drinks several times to break up the walk up the so-called "Cardiac Hill." Drinks were great, very reasonably priced and served by lovely staff.

We visited 27th August 22 and wow what a beautiful place! The apartments are situated on a steep winding road with amazing views. The family who run it are welcoming and friendly, there’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere. There’s no rushing to get a sunbed early as there’s plenty to go round and it was never crowded by pool always a chilled vibe. The food was excellent, plenty to choose from. Pool table available and was always able to play during day and evening was 2 euros. The apartment was dated but clean, we were in no.26 (2 bed apt) Beds and shower were not great not going to lie but we would go back as the whole holiday experience here was fantastic! I’m not sure you could self cater very well in the kitchen but we had no intention of eating in so worked well for us as price wise it was very reasonable, cocktails from 6 euros, breakfast from 4 euros our daily bill for breakfast, lunch and drinks all day was 80-100 euros this was for 4 of us. We walked down to the little strip with restaurants and bars every night for dinner, Zorbas is a firm favourite we ate here a few nights. There are a couple of little supermarkets there too. We paid for air conditioning and it was money well spent, jet2 do advise there is an additional charge for this so we were prepared. The accommodation jet2 customers stay in is separate from their main block - you stay in the main block of you book direct which is what we will do next year. Our coach transfer with jet2 was over 2 hrs if you get a private transfer it’s 45mins we will definitely be doing this next time! We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and have come home feeling relaxed and re-charged.

A charming holiday. We booked a last minute deal with jet2 and stayed in the lovely room 13. It was quiet and the balcony looked out onto the whole resort, making it the perfect place to chill. The room itself was a great space however the extra cost of €55 for air conditioning wasn’t something we had planned for (perhaps our fault for not reading small print). As it was our first time In Greece I’m not sure if this is standard practice. The cleaner was lovely and did a thorough job however we did find it slightly strange that loo roll wasn’t provided. Fortunately we’d read this in previous reviews so weren’t caught too off guard but something to consider The pool area was definitely a highlight for us, plenty of sun beds at all times of day and a really nice vibe all around. There were inflatables that were free to use and everyone we spoke to was super friendly. Again, this may be a Greek thing but not being able to consume your own food and drink at the pool we found a bit strange but no big issue! We’d seen some concerns about the hill the apartments are based near the top, however we didn’t find the hill too strenuous (except maybe with a 6 pack of water- though these can be bought from the apartments if you don’t fancy the walk with them). For people with mobility issues, I can definitely understand the hill may be a bit too much. The nearby beach was wonderful but we also enjoyed popping over the hill to the next village, both had their merits though. Overall a wonderful holiday and we would definitely recommend the apartments if you’re staying in the area.

Hill very steep. Jet2 rooms awful, they are in a searate block from superior rooms. Could not use bathroom sink as a rigid kitchen tap was fitted and jammed under a shelf so could not wash in sink. Some mornings no hot water and room very small. Beds hard and squeaky. Pedal bin in kitchen falling to bits and rusty fruit bowl on table. Food and outdoor pool area very good
