DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. MOST DISGUSTING AND UNHYGIENIC EXPERIENCE IVE HAD. Have been on many budget holidays and have never had such a poor experience starting off with hygiene. Dead and alive flies were found on all surfaces including areas where toothbrushes and soap was expected to of been kept . Silver fish bigs were found crawling in my luggage and around all the floors, had to throw away clothes and wash clothing a good few times to prevent any spread when returning. Aside from bugs floor was ridiculously sticky and dirty and when cleaned for 30 seconds the water seen on the bucket was filled with dirt, completely black.floor was so bad I had to keep shoes on at all times to avoid touching the floors. As of hygiene could not have been any worst, old blood was found on my 1 and shallow pillow. Bed sheets were asleep thin and dirty, resorted to using a sarong to keep myself warm at night.HOTEL IS IN NEED OF INSPECTION as a complete BIO HAZARD even after moving room a number of times. As if I could not have been worst new towels were given to us in the morning ti which vomit was found covered within them. Moving on to practicality. Door would not unlock properly, spent15 minutiae on each occasion trying to open doors with an old lock. Had to repeat to walking down to reception on most occasions to get doors open. Curtains were ripped and mirrors were disgusting. Toilet would also not flush on most occasions had to consistently have staff up to fix their disgusting and broken toilets. Location is okay but down dark ally’s to get to. Does not seem safe at night especially when drinking, would recommend staying at any of the other 100s of locations in the similar areas which would be almost satisfactory. Staff were completely rude. Not accommodations at all and did not seem interested in any of their isssues presented. Have never had such bad service. Also have to pay 50 euro deposit upon arrival to which I did not receive back until 4 weeks after leaving. This hotel is completely poor and should be shut down immediately.…

I almost hate to write this glowing review since it will mean in the future, more people will take advantage of this absolutely perfect hotel on Zakinthos which will mean less access for people like me. However, having stayed in many hotels over the years, most middle range, some a bit expensive, the Balcony Hotel, in my opinion is as perfect as it gets. Perched high on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Ionian Sea with a magnificent view down below, it was a little slice of heaven. Spotlessly clean, sumptuous included breakfasts with something for every taste (they even made special entrees for my vegan niece), extremely comfortable beds and well appointed rooms, gracious and ever helpful and knowledgeable and accessible staff, this place was well thought out in every possible way to provide the best experience a weary traveler can have. If it were up to me, I would have spent my entire time in Greece staying there. I simply cannot think of one thing I would improve on. And if you’re smart, you will come to depend on the staff as we did to help you find good restaurants, water adventures, shuttle options, and sightseeing tips for everything Zakinthos which is now probably my favorite Greek Island. Snorkeling at the Blue Cave at Kerri was the highlight for me after the magical wedding of my niece Katie at a small exquisite Greek Orthodox Church where the locals clapped as we left the church, followed by the reception at the Balcony Hotel which matched the service in every way. Beautiful view from the rooms on the bay of Tsilivi , same as from the restaurant and the garden. Delicious breakfast. Unfortunatly did not try the restaurant in the evening, but it must be of value because always full in the evening, Very, very clean rooms. Extremely friendly personel taking care of all your wishes at any time of the day Highly recommended for a very confortable and quiet stay in Zakintos.

Perfect place to stay in Zakynthos. Nice area, nice views, nice staff, really good price/value. Room is cleaned every day properly, there are wide choices of food for breakfast, and also the dinner was great when we tried one time. AC works properly in the room, desired temperature can be achieved within minutes. Hotel is on a hilltop, therefore own car is recommended, otherwise you would need to climb it every time, which can be exhausting but rather dangerous, as there is no pavement on the road. Free parking space is provided, and the lot is spacious enough, we always found an empty spot.

Absolutely perfect! First time on the island so I spent 2 days on the computer searching and reading reviews and somehow was lucky to find this gem of a hotel. We were spending a week so I wanted to be a little away from the busy Zakynthos town but close enough. We rented a car at the airport and getting here was easy. The hotel is spotless and very well kept. The owners are extremely nice and helpful and caring. The view is amazing and room is spacious and clean. We had the panoramic room on the second floor. Location is excellent and nice to come back after a busy day out to a lovely relaxing view.

Unfortunately didn’t stay in the hotel but wanted to comment on how lovely the restaurant is. Food was modern and delicious, the waitresses were attentive and knowledgeable about what they were serving. As we visited late in the season the evenings were a bit chilly, they had blankets on hand! Would love to visit again.

We stayed for a week at Balcony hotel in August 2022. The staff were very welcoming. The young lady on reception welcomed us and was very kind and informative and gave us some information about getting around the island. She was very friendly and always made an effort to ask how our day was each evening. All staff were friendly which made the stay extra-special. Room was lovely, side-sea view was a better view than expected! Hotel provides beach towels and umbrellas for the beach which is a nice touch. Sadly the hotel doesn’t have a pool, which would have made our stay perfect, but you are only 10 minutes from Tsilvi beach. (or 10 minute drive to Zakynthos town where you can catch coaches to other beaches). The taxi service to the airport (provided by the hotel) is a must if travelling TO the airport. The taxis generally on the island are so difficult to arrange, you cannot wave a taxi or book in advance, do not rely on public taxi to get to the airport, use the taxi offered by the hotel (it’s on 5 euros more). Great service. Short down hill 10-15 minute walk into Tsilivi. 20 mins to Tsilvi buss stop which goes to Zakynthos town. Overall great stay👍🏻…

Balcony Boutique Hotel A bohemian location with excellent and very welcoming services, extremely kind, respectful and professional staff. Excellent location, very close to the airport (15 min by car) to the center of Zakynthos (10 min), restaurants, shops, taverns and the beach of Tsivli (5 min). The hotel has a restaurant with an amazing menu Impeccable cleaning service, very good positioning, well-trained and English-speaking receptionists, free parking, even if it just has 2 floors, there is an elevator. Excellent breakfast selection with all the options, a complex breakfast with delicious homemade cakes. Chic, intimate room, all with sea view, extremely clean, quiet, very comfortable beds, down pillows, impeccable bedding. I recommend it if you want to travel !

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The location and views are great. The rooms are not fancy but are spacious, comfortable and super clean. The highlight is the restaurant which has a fabulous position and views over the coast and ocean. Food and service are both excellent. Highly recommended.

I need to say that this hotel is nothing special. I do not know why it has such a good rate on booking or tripadvisor because it is not so good. They are not prepared to any changes or they do not try to fulfill some of your desires. We were there in July. We understand that this is the top season. But when we make a reservation through mail we kindly asked them if they have an open sea view for our stay. They said that for the first night they are booked but for other days they have it for us. We asked about our open sea view couple times and they said always the same “you have side sea view” which is basically parking view…even on the day of our arrival we send them a mail about sea view and they said: “Yes you have it” but once again it was more parking view than sea view. The receptionist was friendly but we felt like we are in school and not an adult couple because they took us to our room (we are able to find it by ourselves) and she explained about everything…even that we need to put their card to the card slot to have the electricity…we know that because it is not the first thing being in the Hotel. Immediately we told that we do not like the room. It was near the car park and near the exit to this car park, during the night there was a lot of noise. Rooms are not good isolated and you hear every person who comes to Hotel by car and takes a lift to higher floors. You hear the talking and everything else. We said to the receptionist first day that we do not like to be near the exit due to the noise but she just smiled and said it should be ok, do not worry. Is that an answer? When we said the we asked for the room with open sea view she said: “You have a sea view, I do not know if we have any rooms with open sea view but i will take a look and let you know” but she did not inform us about that. The breakfast is tasty. But ok…nevertheless we just slept there and it was ok. You also need to know that you have to walk to Tsilivi for about 20-30minutes to get to the city centre because the Hotel is on the hill.…

Dear mr Matej, Thank you very much for staying in our hotel! We appreciate your kind words about our breakfast and are very glad you enjoyed it. We did not expect to hear that our hotel did not live up to your expectations but we appreciate the criticism and always try to be better for our guests! In regards to the issue you faced with the view, the room that you booked was a side sea view one, meaning there was sea view from the balcony. We realise that you would have preferred another room type, however that was not available at the time and we let you know from the start. We said that there might be a cancellation but there was not so we could not have given you another room that suited your desires more, even though we would have loved to do that. Secondly, our receptionists try be as welcoming and informative as possible, hence why every detail is covered when you check into your room. We apologise if that made you feel rather uncomfortable, however it is a process that has been regarded by other guests as welcoming and helpful. Lastly, when it comes to the noise, our hotel is located quite far from the centre of tsilivi and the noise of all the bars and other stores. The hotel however is full and some noise during the day is to be expected, and still it is a small amount of noise. Nevertheless, we will look into the issues you mentioned and try to do better as we always strive to satisfy our guests to the biggest extent.
