We stayed 2 weeks (during the period ofchristmas and new year) in the Villa; during this period we had our private cook. He prepared breakfast, lunch and diner and can basically prepare any food you would like. Upon your preferences he will prepare a grocery list and advise on the cost; whereafter he will collect them at locals and/or supermarkets.

The houses are very comfortable including ventilators, mosquito nets and towels (2 types per person - for the swimming pool and for the shower).

Swimming pool is large enough for the number of houses (4 if I'm correct) - this ensures that the host will be able to assist and service you in person.

Great place!

Lucia's place is fantastic! We rented the big villa for our family of 5. It included two downstairs bedrooms each with a double and a single, and a big loft/sitting room space with two doubles, a sofa set and a tv, with DVDs you can rent. Eating is done on the verandah and there are two upstairs balconies. The whole space is beautifully decorated, and was easily big enough for our family of 5. There is a central pool shared with the other villas on the property, next to which you can have barbecue. You can also rent bikes, although we didn't do this! The cleaning crew and cooks that helped us were amazing. The food was excellent and ample, and each cook we had took time to work with us as to what our menu for the day would be, went shopping for us, and were extremely transparent with costing of food. The villa is no more than a 5 minute walk to Galu Beach, and just down the lane from a tuk tuk stand. Its at the end of a close in a really quiet, secure neighborhood. The guest house provided transport to and from Ukunda Airport, which was less than 15 minutes away. Lucia was also extremely informative and helpful with respect to things to do in Diani. We were there the third week of March...and it is obviously a difficult time with respect to tourism in Diani, and obviously for Kenya and the planet as a whole. The villa was really a shelter from the storm before we returned to Nairobi. I highly recommend Lucia's place and we will most certainly be coming back once life goes back to normal.

We are returning clients (it's our 2nd time) to Aestus Villas Resort. The place is tasteful and wonderfully managed by Lucia, who proves again to be helpful and supportive, ready to go the extra mile to satisfy your needs. She's very knowledgeable about the country and the sightseeing options close to Diani and further away. We spent 5 days in Diani in January and were pleased to discover they have added some nice touches to the place, such as the bathroom and shower facility next the swimming area, and the small handicraft shop with lovely souvenirs such as jewels and textiles.
Food cooked by our cook was amazing and clean, as well as the excellent facials and massage with local deluxe products, offered by the little SPA facility (thanks Valerie). The garden and the common grounds are lovely and wonderfully kept, making you forget there is a wonderful long and powdery white beach only 5' away.
Will get back again for sure!

We stayed for 4 nights as a family of four. The cottage had two bedrooms downstairs with queen beds and an open-plan attic with two single beds. There were two bathrooms with showers, one up- and one downstairs. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen where a private chef (available 8 am - 8 pm) can prepare meals for the family.

The cottages are well-maintained, fully-functional and clean. The beds are comfortable and have mosquito nets, which come in very handy as the area has a lot of mosquitos (mosquito repellant is a must!). There are two fans in each room and no a/c. The rooms were slightly warm in the evening, but cooled down overnight. Hot water was readily available and the shower pressure was comfortable.

The resort is resonably quiet, there are only three cottages, so three families staying. There is ample space at the pool. The pool has enough space and depth to swim around. The resort has a small gift shop as well and offers (very good!) massages. They also offer a laundry service at 800 Ksh per 8 kg load which will be returned to you dried and folded.

It's a short walk to a great sandy and empty (for European standards) beach. There are a restaurant and a cafe there which take credit cards. If you want to venture farther away, tuktuks are usually waiting for passengers by the main road and it is ca. 500 Ksh to go one way to the little shopping mall around the Carrefour in Diani.

Our chef Mary was an excellent cook with a broad range of international and local dishes. Her homemade samosas were better than most samosas we tried so far. The chef orders seafood and shops at the local market for you. Wine by bottle is available at the resort.

Tips for future stays:
- seafood needs to be pre-ordered one day ahead; if your stay is short, coordinate food orders with the property before your arrival
- bring mosquito repellant and check your beds for mosquitos every night
- all extras must be paid in cash (USD and EUR also accepted), so make sure you have enough, because there are no cash machines in the area (need to take a tuktuk to a bank in Diani)
- you need to give your chef Kenyan shillings to do groceries (it was roughly 6-7k Ksh per day for us)

What a beauty, stayed there for 2 nights with my friends. I remember we arrived so early in Mombasa since we had taken the night train from Nairobi, when we called the owner Lucia she immediately gave us the Manager's number(Rose ) who was more than helpful through out the stay. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a healthy blended mango juice. Our chef Georgina was pleasant enough to accommodate everyone's desires on the Menu ( you should try her Lasagna).
Fun fact; each Villa has its own chef.
For activities ; Rose the manager can help you arrange for a day trip to the Wasini Island or any other water activity you might be interested in. The pool in always warm for a dip or you can go to beach which is just 5minutes away .

The villas are beautiful and well-fitted into the surroundings, very comfortable although in need of renovation in some aspects, for example in the bathrooms. The pool area and gardens are very well pleasant as well. The villas are not as big as they appear in the photos but they were enough for us. There is no air conditioning, just fans in each room and I believe that they should not be possible because there are no windows but just nets to keep out mosquitoes. In September it didn't make a difference to us but in warmer months it can be difficult to bear the heat.

There is only hot water early in the morning and at the end of the day, but I think you can exceptionally ask for hot water to be turned on at other times of the day.

The staff, although few, are friendly, discreet and keep everything in order. There is a chef assigned to each villa who can cook all meals according to what guests request. Just tell him what you want to eat and he will buy what is necessary and present the bill. We had divine breakfast and dinner with chef Hesbone. He made everything with great care and affection and always with a special touch. Tips are optional.

The villas are a 200m walk from the beach but as there are no sun loungers on the beach we are always limited to choosing a beach bar to stay at which requires a minimum consumption. It is possible to lay your towel on the beach but the harassment of vendors is so much that it is impossible to relax. The beach is beautiful, although there is a lot of seaweed in some areas, but the vendors are unbearable. You really have to find a beach bar to stay in the sun. Lucia, the owner of the villas, gives plenty of guidance on how to do this.

The check out time is very early (10 am) and check in is very late ( 16 am). The Wi-Fi doesn’t work very well some times .

We had a lovely stay at the red coral villa. We were well looked after by all the staff but especially by our fabulous Chef Saidi and Rosie as well as Lillian the Beauty Therapist. The Villa was very clean and tidy with a lovely rustic feel. The gardens and pool area were beautiful with lots of areas for lounging around. Great location for me to do Kite surfing with a fantastic school, 5 minutes walk away at the beach. We would definitely return.

Aestus Villas was just the perfect place my family needed. The host, Lucia , is such an amazing person. She was very responsive from inquiry to our exit, always ready to answer our questions. She went out of her way to have the Villa ready by 12:30pm because our flight was early even though the check in is usually 4pm. Our chef, Hesbon was so amazing! Meals were on point and to our specifications. Rose was also amazing, always checking on us and ensuring that we had everything we needed, helping us to get around and so much more. The pool is heavenly! Michael takes great care of it and our house keeper who unfortunately can’t remember the name kept the Villa spotless. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet and tranquil place. Oh, and the beach is only 5 minutes walk from the Villas.

A small resort with 3 villas and a good size swimming pool within the compound 200 mt from the beach.. Everything went perfect and the touch of italy inside & outside the villas + the great chef simba included in the service made our vacation memorable. Special Thanks to Rose & Lucia that suggested to our family the right things to do including a great trip in the reef with fishing session dedicated to kids. I will suggest to my friends and hopefully come back sometimes in the future. S

The Villas are serene, peaceful, very clean and well maintained. Internet is available at no additional cost, for those who will need to occasionally get on a call, check their email or post online suring their Stay. The staff are very helpful in helping you get airport or SGR transfers, also getting transport to move around locally. The chef is very clean and prepares excellent meals while sticking to the agreed schedule and food options selected.

Dear Takako, groceries shopping normally is done by our chefs (Villas come with the chef at the house service). You can anyway reach the nearest shopping center at 6km by tuk tuk (50 Kes per person). Nearby there are some stalls with fresh fruits and vegetables and of course the fisherman that brings the fresh catch of the day to your door. At the resort we have very good mountain bikes you can hire to go around and is definitely safe to go around, no problems of any sort. Please let me know if you need any other info. I will be happy to assist you. Have a good day Lucia

Hi Takako, the average temperature in January is 30/32 degrees (celsius) and during the night we go down to 27/28 so fans are more than enough. We never had any problems or specific complaints for too much heat during January and related sleeping problems in the Villas. Even people coming from Russia find that the fans and the fact that the Villas are well ventilated permit to sleep comfortably. Let me know if you need any further info, I will be very happy to assist you. Lucia

Hi, the resort is 45 Km from Mombasa airport. If you fly first to Nairobi you can also check a flight direct to Ukunda/Diani Beach airstrip (Silverstone, Jambojet, Safarilink), but if you have an international flight direct to Mombasa we can arrange transportation for you.
