We stayed in cottage B5 and B7. The pictures doesn't show how beautiful and unique this place is. The cottages are simple, spaceful and cozy. The outside areas and views are spectacular! The people who work at the place are all so nice, friendly, happy to talk with you and professional. Everyday there is a man who come with fresh fish for buying and a man with fresh fruits and vegetables as well. The monkeys and baboons visited a lot. Make sure you close the doors, they are little funny thiefs! You live right there between them in the nature. We would love to come back again!

We love going back to the Beachlets it never disappoints. The owners are always on hand and happy to help with any queries you may have about best places to eat out or visitor attractions nearby. The gardeners, cleaners, security and maintenance staff have been there for some years and always remember you like a family member lovely touch. We went over Christmas and New year 23/24 and had a wonderful stay such a relaxing place . The Beachlets are all well equipped and have a great view onto the beach with its white sand and the sound of the Indian ocean at night mesmerising . There are plenty of spots a short walk along the beach to eat all reasonably priced . The locals are all really friendly wether in a cafe, local supermarket or the little stall markets always greet you with a smile and jambo ( hello ). Getting around is really easy as the local tuk tuks are always passing by entrance a short walk from Beachlets also taxi can be ordered for those longer trips if necessary. This place is a hidden paradise a large jewel hidden in a Kenyan crown.

NOT a resort! John, the owner, said "it is what it is"...what it IS is PARADISE!! Other reviews may say "old" or "run down" or even "buyer beware"... I must disagree! NO air conditioning, NO hot showers, NO frills...PURE KENYA!! Literally steps to a beautiful, pristine beach where you can enjoy the surf or even ride a camel! For about $15 a day (plus groceries) you can get your own private chef! Hassan, our chef, cooked delicious meals and became an instant friend. One night, he cooked a whole goat and catered to our group of THIRTY SEVEN friends and family! Showers are salt water, cooking water must be carried into the room, and drinking water must be purchased. Fresh fruit and vegetables can be purchased daily AT YOUR DOOR! MONKEYS everywhere! Bora Bora Wildlife Preserve just minutes away. A short tuk tuk ride (for pennies!) takes you to any kind of shopping you would like to do and any kind of dining experience you want. If you like posh, luxurious resorts, GO THERE! If you're looking for authenticity and genuinely FRIENDLY and CARING staff, GO HERE! I agree with John..."it is what it is"...it was PERFECT for me!

We stayed at the Diani Beachlets for a week in January 2023 and it was our best holiday so far. The apartments are located right on the beach, they are very clean and spacious. We were able to buy fresh fruit every day, which was so nice! John and Rhonda and incredibly nice people and great hosts. We will definitely be back! :)

What a brilliantly cheap way to spend time at this amazing location. John and Rhonda are wonderful as are all their staff on site. The apartments are basic (like camping but with walls) but have a lovely rustic charm with clean sheets, hot showers, flushing loo, nicely equipped kitchen, mosquito nets, fans and dining table. The gardens are beautiful and the gardeners are very friendly. The security staff are great, made us feel very safe and kept a watchful eye for anyone coming up from the beach that did not belong. The sun loungers and shady trees down by the beach are lovely to relax on in the middle of the hot day and the beach is so close you can hear it even if you are garden facing. We highly recommend this place if you have kids, (mine are 4 and 8) there’s plenty of space and it’s just gorgeous. The wildlife was a highlight - the monkeys in the trees, the lizards on the walls, even the army of tiny ants marching about cleaning up. However, do be aware that the baboons are not scared of you, they will enter your apartment and steal your bananas even with you sitting in the room 😱 so we had to be mindful of leaving the door open wide and put some furniture in front to deter them. We loved it and hope to go back.

I stayed at Beachalets with a friend for 5 nights up to the end of September. Beachalets comprises a well spaced out small complex of chalets on the seafront. The chalets themselves are clean and comfortable in a budget style with wonderful views of the beach and I loved drifting off to sleep to the sound of the waves crashing. The many mature trees and numerous monkeys and other wildlife gave a feeling of being close to nature which I loved. It has a very peaceful and chilled vibe and there is 24 hour security to the front and rear. The bed was comfortable with mosquito netting and there was an electric fan in each room and the wifi was fine. It is located close to many excellent restaurants and the owner Dorothy is chatty and pleasant to talk to. There are some sun beds for the exclusive use of residents right by the beach and all in all this place is definitely very good value for money. I would recommend.

We stayed here for 11 days and it was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been to. We had one of the beachfront chalets and the view from the terrace was just breathtaking. We did not see much of the hotel management, but the everyday staff like the watchmen and resident vendors were all very nice and supportive. Shops etc are a little far, but therefor the beach area here is also not crowded. And tuktuks are easily available. The house was equipped with the essentials you need and you get drinking water containers from the hotel. I miss this place. Everything felt very safe, you just have to take care of the monkeys. It was a relaxing and inspiring stay at a dream beach.

Thank you for your lovely review of Beachalets and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We agree we have wonderful views from the cottages. Sorry you feel you did not see much of management as we are always available at the office. We were particularly busy in September and we were down to only one member of management so there may not have been opportunity to visit guests at their cottages but we are pleased our staff looked after you. Thankyou from Beachalets Team

DianiBeachalet Review for TRIPADVISOR The accommodation that I stayed in for over three weeks with my wife was a two-bedroom sea-view chalet. The unit itself was very basic, functional and clean with comfortable and natural wooden furniture. I chose this particular place to stay in because it reminded me of the traditional/classic style of non-makuti (non-thatched) holiday accommodation in Kenya that used to be a common place along this coast but sadly few now exist. For me this place gets five stars because of what it’s actually like to stay here rather than whether it completes all the “check boxes”. The view from our veranda was just sublime because not only do you get to see the beach and ocean but you get to see and hear so much wildlife close up such as baboons, Sykes and Columbus monkeys, various birds, large but friendly lizards and geckos and even red squirrels. The monkeys are great to watch literally any time of the day, as they are so playful, very cheeky and also light fingered. When we were there it was unusually hot being over 30° Celsius (86°F) but what made it lovely was the sea breeze we had nearly all the time. On the rare occasion the breeze dropped we just put the wall mounted electric fan on for 20 minutes or so. The beach being about a minutes walk from the chalet is beautiful and the water is comfortably warm and safe to swim in which is easily accessible by steps on either side of the chalet’s property. At the top of the steps is a sandy area with sunbeds where you can lie-down and sun worship or relax under some shade from the surrounding trees and watch the occasional flock of camels heads bobbing past. All the staff were very friendly, helpful, respectful and polite and Dorothy, the owner, was very accommodating and flexible with regards to my wife’s disability needs which made our holiday relaxed and enjoyable. Even though our chalet had no wifi coverage it was still possible to walk up to reception and sit in the shade outside under the large makuti roof and use the free wi-fi. Shopping was quite fun because it’s about a 10 minute cheap ride in a tuk-tuk which you can wave down easily enough on the Diani Beach Road.

Stayed here again as you just can’t get any better on the beautiful Diani beach! Since our last stay the rooms have undergone massive changes and are lovely. There is nothing better than sitting on the veranda while watching the children run freely around on the beach. All the staff, including the managers, make you feel welcome and are always available to offer advice and help out with any queries you might have. Thanks again Beachalets for a safe, family friendly break.
