Hotel's Favourite
I visited The Maji for the fourth time in September after two years and it felt like coming home to the most amazing property, people, and time! I made the booking a year ago and had concerns about being out and about in the COVID-19 altered world. To be honest, I initially cancelled my booking. In the end I felt confident enough to travel to The Maji because it is small; the team have a high attention to detail; and they outlined good measures for guests’ safety. The way the property is designed makes it easy to have physical distance. The only difference this time is that I opted to drive to minimise any exposure from a flight. Despite not driving to the coast for over a decade, it was worth it to find The Maji at the end of it. It turned out to be my best holiday there! I discovered a new room, as the room I prefer was booked. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it is the best room I have stayed in and has become “my new room”! I was particularly pleased to see the changes they made while the hotel was closed. The new beach beds provide much better sun protection and the colour actually works really well. The team remain professional and went over and above expectations to make my stay memorable. It is rare that a hotel not only maintains standards, but continues to improve on what were already high standards. The Maji has succeeded in doing this, and I am already looking forward to my next holiday there, God willing. Thank you to the team. Keep doing what you do so very well! If you are considering staying at The Maji, you better book early to get your preferred dates, as they are in higher demand than I have ever seen. Also, please be sure to observe all the safety measures that they have put in place including using a face covering when walking around the hotel - it is for your and other’s safety.

Response from The Maji Beach Boutique Hotel, General Manager at The Maji Beach Boutique Hotel

Dear Razia, Wow! What a beautiful and extensive account of your time at The Maji. Words cannot describe how thrilled we all are that we not only met, but even exceeded your expectations, especially with all our protocols in place for the “new norm”. We are thrilled to be back in business and welcoming guests back into our little retreat on the beach and continue to strive to improve and keep our guests safe and comfortable. Thank you for your appreciation of all the small details, the upkeep and continued progression. As you know The Maji lends itself to social distancing. With our al fresco dining and room configuration we have actually been doing it for years! Once again thank you for not only choosing The Maji again out of all the other options available in Diani Beach but for taking the time to write such a special review. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon in your new favorite room! Very Best wishes from your second home, Lara and The Maji Family

This is my third time staying at The Maji....and it never disappoints. Their attention to detail is what makes the the best boutique hotel in Diani! I honestly think their service is unparalleled. From the time you arrive and check in into your room, you feel they have thought about everything to make you comfortable. The à la carte menu doesn't disappoint and each time even though I know the menu by now, the dishes are as exquisite and tasty as never before. The cleanliness is next to none and in these times of Covid 19 I feel safe here... I really commend the chefs, the housekeeper and his team, Zippy, the food supervisor and her team, Lara and the management team...and the often ignored people, the guards, who are so attentive at the beach and check in to see if you need anything else as you enjoy the beach. What I love mist is the hotel's willingness to adapt to your needs - be it meal times or what you don't eat... Impressive. This is definitely the best kept secret in the world..
