This 21 bedroom family run hotel is wonderfully situated with its own lovely clean sandy beach which is shallow enough to be family friendly curious fish swim around passively when you're paddling and the sea is warm and clear .Overlooking the Beach is a splendid Taverna where the drinks and food are reasonably priced the staff are friendly and attentive and the food is fresh and typically Greek. Hotel guests eat here and are not frequently tempted to stray . The shady overhead vines provide shelter from the sun during the day and atmosphere at night. The grilled fresh Prawns are a special treat but my ultimate accolade would go to their special Moussaka..I've been visiting Greek islands ever since 1972 and have never experienced better . A WORD about the staff EXCELLENT . They're prompt and Helpfully informative. We would never consider staying anywhere else on Thassos

I have visited Thassos and this hotel many times but never stayed.
My first stay this year and it lives up to my expectations.
Set on a hill above a sandy beach with fantastic views from all around.
George and his family have been running this hotel since his father had the idea to build it. From renovation to serving that cold Mythos the family does it all.
The rooms are small but very adequate. Bathroom had been renovated and the shower was amazing.
Views from the balcony were amazing also.
Breakfast is basic and served inside the hotel but you can take your food and sit in the restaurant overlooking the beach and sea for a fantastic view.
Half board option with TUI so evening meals included. Choose what you want from the choice at reception after breakfast or choose to go in to town the choice is yours.
Food is all home made and very tasty. No complaints whatsoever.
Nice choice of wines on the menu as well as draft Mythos and bottled beer.
Beach is lovely and just steps from the taverna.
Sea is easy to access with just a few pebbles at the edge. My favourite beach on the island.
You can walk in to town in around 25 mins or a taxi is 6 euros.
All the staff work so hard to keep this place spotless and provide service with a smile.
Thank you George and the family for making our holiday.

This hotel is perfect for a relaxing holiday. It is immaculately clean and it occupies a beautiful setting. The beach is exceptionally pretty, with crystal clear sea, a lining of pine trees and soft, golden sand. We stayed on a half-board basis, and the meals were very good indeed. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, and everything we needed was provided. Both air conditioning and WIFI worked really well. All rooms have a sea view, and it was lovely to lie on the bed and listen to the waves lapping on to the beach.

Taxis into town were easy to arrange and cost 6 or 7 euros each way. The town has lots of restaurants and shops, and the museum is definitely worth a visit. There is a bakery just a few minutes' walk from the hotel that sells delicious cakes, savoury and sweet pastries, and sandwiches at very reasonable prices.

Eating your evening meal, with a glass of wine, overlooking the turquoise sea, with a stunning sunset, vines overhead and lanterns glowing; I'm not sure where else in the world could have been more peaceful and atmospheric.

This place is perfect for adults looking for a relaxing, quiet break in the sun. Set on a steep hill with steps, overlooking a sandy beach. The hotel is set in a rural area. You can walk into Thasos in approximately 20 minutes or grab a taxi for €7. The fridge is replenished daily and you pay on departure along with any other payments due. The food is all freshly cooked and tasty. Thank you Nisteri we will be back!

Breathtaking view from the balcony, easy access to the beach anf exceptional, friendly atmosphere, thats are the strengths of this entity. The suites on the top floor, we occupied, are not big, even the bathrooms were even tiny but the guests spend most of time on the sandy beach, with sunbeds and umbrellas. The staff is extremally helpful and polite, The rooms are very clean and the breakfasts eaten on the terrace are unforgetable. Some interesting taverns in Limenas are not very far from villa and almost whole distance could be walked along the beach. Great memories and hope for return next season.

We have just returned from a relaxing week at Villa Nisteri. It was perfect, the rooms were lovely, spotlessly clean and we had a little balcony area to sit out in. We went half board with Tui and the breakfast was just right continental so bread , cheese , eggs , coffee etc. The evening meal was a choice of either a local Greek dish or something from 5/6 other options. We had lunch in the Taverna most days and the food was lovely and it was very popular with guests and beach goers. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The hotel overlooks a lovely sandy beach with sunbeds and umbrellas, which were free to guests. It’s nice and shallow so good for smaller children and you can swim out deeper too, bring your snorkel as plenty of fish to see. We didn’t have a car so walked in to town one evening but not a nice walk as large stretch next to main road, we got a cab back for €7, so better option. Thassos town has lots of restaurants and normal tourist shops and if you want snacks etc for your stay probably the closest place to go. There is a coffee and cake shop near Villa Nisteri which we spotted a few people on the beach had visited. Keep your eyes peeled for Kingfishers, Lizards, Praying Mantis and Hummingbird moths.

The restaurant has an amazing view. You can see the ferries going back and fourth. The staff are lovely. The food from the A La Carte was delicious. There is no bar where you can congregate for a chat. So we didn’t get to mix much. The beach is used by anyone. So saving your sunbed early is a must if you’re staying here. The rooms. Spotless very bed & bathroom with fabulous shower. Air con free safe free sun beds free although days €7 spend on food or drink which we did anyway. Now the disappointments. We booked with Tui. We booked a Sea view. Looking at the picture you think you’re getting one of those front sea view rooms. But. There are side sea views. We were in 404 in my opinion the worst room in the hotel. Next to a noisy car park where people park to use the beach. Blocked view by tree. Tui really need to specify what room you have booked as for us this was a total let down. The menu of the day is satisfactory but nothing exciting. Would we go again. Yes if we knew what room we were booking and if we could just dine from the a la Carte menu that was reasonably priced. We asked could we have a discount for the set menu towards the a la Carte but told no. Breakfast was good.

We loved our week long stay here and would return in a heart beat.

We absolutely loved the setting, it was so quiet and peaceful, just far enough from the town but not too far away (around a 20 minute walk along the beach in the main). Our room was clean and comfortable and had an amazing view, so pretty. We were half board, breakfast was good but the piece de resistance was the Greek menu offering, such gorgeous food. We went with the recommendation most nights although my husband had the squid one night and he enjoyed it so much, he had to have a second time before he left! Everything was so delicious and tasty. The restaurant setting in itself was gorgeous, such pretty flowers and the view! The family team in the hotel so very lovely.

We hired a car for a couple of days to explore the island, we found some absolutely beautiful spots on the island, even a couple of our 'own' beaches. We weren't keen on marble beach, we drove to it but didn't stay. At 30 euros for 2 beds (inclusive of a drink, not sure what) we felt is was a bit of an overpriced tourist trap. We much preferred, well loved Paradise Beach. It was quite vast and not crowded at all. We drove around the whole island over 2 days, including into the mountains.

We absolutely loved Thassos and will be back.

Location: The allure of this hotel was that it had a somewhat secluded beach front location, whilst still being walkable to the main town (Limenas). Walking to Limenas took around 30 minutes (around 2.7km, for the busier part of town). For the first 10 minutes or so, you can walk along the beach, and after that, it was mostly walking along the side of the road with some intermittent pavement. I didn't find it difficult as the traffic is pretty light. However, people with mobility issues may want to take note. I was content to mostly stay in the locale, with the odd trip into the town. Had I stayed here longer however, I'd consider renting a car as the bus network wasn't up to much (it may have been the time of year though).

The views from the hotel looking out onto the Agean were stunning. There is no pool at the hotel, but that didn't bother me in the slightest when the sea was right there. The beach, although public, wasn't busy in May and there were always loungers available.

Rooms: I stayed in a standard double. The room, while not the biggest, was well-equipped and it was nice to have aircon, internet and a safe included without additional charge. The maids did an amazing job, and they were like ninjas; cleaning the room while we were out for breakfast.

Food and staff: I don't normally go on a half-board basis, as I like to try different Tavernas. The food here however was fabulous, particularly the moussaka. You choose what you want for a main at reception in the morning, if you don't like the daily special, you can choose from around 6 or so other dishes. The starter and dessert are always fixed though. Of the 5 times I ate here, there was only really one dish I wasn't a big fan of. Dessert is usually fruit (one time it was a coconut cake). There is a bakery only a 5 minute walk away though if you fancy more indulgent sweet treats.

Drinks aren't terribly priced and they do an excellent espresso fredo. I just wish they did more wine by smaller carafes, rather than by the bottle.

Breakfast is okay. It's pretty much the same buffet fare everyday. There was enough to keep me satisfied (usually cereals, breads, cake, fruit, fried eggs, omelette, cold cut meats, bacon, sausage).

The family that run this hotel were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. And the mother (apologies for not getting your name!), does an amazing job tending to all the beautiful plants and flowers. Max the cat also entertained us with his antics.

I've never come away from a holiday so relaxed before, and I've already recommended this hotel to family!

Thank you so much to the team at Villa Nisteri. The service and friendliness from the staff was exceptional! The rooms are tidy and comfortable, with good working air con. Paid (cheaper than at the bar) mini-bar refreshed daily. The beach and setting are wonderful, truly stunning water clarity and plenty of fish to see for adventurous snorkelers. The Taverna on site is so beautiful, with a natural canopy roof. The food is great quality, comes quickly and is reasonably priced. We mostly ate their set menu (included in the price of the room) but also chose to eat a la carte, so as to get the best experience. Huge thanks to George, Manuelos and Yiannis - the dinner waiters, who were so friendly and welcoming. The town is well worth a visit for some trinkets and to sample more local traditional food - walk or taxi, both are easy!
