Returned a week ago from an 11 night stay at Hermes booked through Tui. I'll cover the positive first. Lovely room, spotlessly clean, furniture a little dated but functional. Bathroom seems to be brand new. Cleaned daily apart from Sunday. Towels changed regularly. Beds changed once during our stay. All kitchen equipment appears to be brand new too. 'V', the owners son is on-site most mornings but working at family restaurant in the evening. The bar was open even though Tui told me it was closed. On the negative side.....as the location is rural, mozzis are an issue, my partner being quite badly bitten. The property is up a serious hill, not good if you have mobility issues, especially in the heat. Also, although the bar is open the music played in the evening by the barman, Chris is awful. Chris himself is a chatty young man and all too keen to share his radical opinions with anyone who will listen. Buses into town ran on time, but if full of passengers, and with covid19 restrictions, they will drive straight past you.,.. followed by a taxi, the taxi drivers generally can be a nuisance pestering people at the bus stop. All in all, skiathos is a beautiful island. Maybe we caught it at a particularly quiet time due to covid19 which would make me choose a hotel closer to town next time. Finally, the sunbeds by the pool were NOT socially distanced and the barking dog next door drives you mad!! We too had a visit from a praying mantis.

We enjoyed a relaxing couple of weeks in the beautifully tended surroundings of the Hermes hotel, which was ideal for a family with two young children. The hotel is in a great, quiet location with easy access to a number of beaches within walking distance, a bus stop at the end of the road and a short walk to catch the water taxi into Skiathos town. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with a lovely large terrace to relax on. Our 5 and 7 year olds loved playing in the pool and the music in the bar area was relaxing and not too loud. The children slept well in the quiet atmosphere at night. All the staff were very welcoming, dedicated and accommodating, especially in serving up a great selection of food at the breakfast buffet every morning. The restaurant also served lovely meals for lunch/dinner. We would all love to return one day!

The staff at Hotel Hermes are very helpful and friendly, without being too intrusive. The rooms are of a very good standard and the beds are super comfortable. Breakfast is provided and there is a good range of toast and cereals, continental options, fruit, or eggs and bacon etc. Hotel Hermes has an excellent pool with a bar for guests; there are a good number of comfortable sun loungers around the pool. Our room had a fridge/freezer which was useful for storing drinks and food. There is a small supermarket directly in front of the hotel which is very reasonably priced and has a good range of items and local delicacies. Two great beaches are within 5 mins walking distance and the hotel is also conveniently near bus stop 13 for easy access to town or beaches further afield.

Never been to Skiathos but have been to other Greek islands and Hermes stands out as the nicest accommodation we’ve stayed in . Skiathos is stunning and this hotel makes it all the nicer . The staff are all so lovely and friendly and work so very hard to accommodate your every need , thank you ! X
A few things I could have done with knowing before we came …… we wanted to hire a car and in hindsight should have phoned before we came to arrange one ( they will deliver to Hermes ) unfortunately they were all booked out with the company Hermes usually uses so paid that bit more with a different company , instead of €50 it was €74 a day . Worth it for a couple of days though , going to the many different gorgeous beaches and into town .
We tended to go to kolios beach as quieter , there were 5 of us and so we’re paying €35 a day for 2 umbrellas and 5 beds however if you go to the busier beaches like koukanaries it was much cheaper , €24 but not walking distance .
Thanks again Hermes 😍

We were allocated this hotel as our original hotel stayed closed due to the Covid situation and OTB found this for us. We were initially disappointed as the rooms are very dated and although immaculately clean and well looked after, they could do with updating. The staff were excellent and we were well looked after. The location is OK although we would recommend a car as the apartments are situated in the hills and its a good 20 minute walk to the closest beach and would not be suitable for the less mobile. Once we got used to our surroundings, we enjoyed our stay immensely and the Island itself is beautiful but we would recommend a car for your stay as there isn't much happening within walking distance. We would definitely return to the island but would not chose this hotel again which is not meant as a slight against the staff, we just prefer something a little more modern

Conveniently located at bus stop 13 with easy bus access to all areas of the island, Hermes sits at the top of quite a steep drive. We were welcomed by Angelo and our room was lovely and clean with a king size bed and small balcony, there is a small kitchen area but services disconnected (it is no longer self catering) full working fridge and kettle and air conditioning . The room was a bit tired but not a major issue fully serviced everyday and spotless. There is a daily breakfast service run by the hardest working team who never seem to stop this was included in our price perfect way to start the day. They also serve lunch and dinner at reasonable prices, with a well stocked bar. The pool area is small but never busy with very comfortable sun beds ( do bring towels these are not supplied) perfect way to soak up the summer sun.

Great holiday the island is stunning special shout out to Maria, Christina and Yannis.

This hotel is genuinely friendly place to be. It is a perfectly scaled hotel, in that it is not too big and not too small. Staffed with friendly, helpful and hardworking people. The Greek phrase 'no problem ' was to be found on the staffs lips on a regular basis. Perfectly placed near bus stop 13 Hermes was well situated to be near the bigger beaches and the smaller beaches on the south of the island. Accessible for both the bus and the taxi boat Hermes was ideally located. It is on a slight hill but compared to other places in Skiathos this driveway was a doddle. Skiathos is quite hilly. The rooms need some refurbishment as the way the Hotel operates shifts away from self catering, but the use of olive wood furniture was authentically charming and I would recommend more of it rather than new 'modern' items. The food was plentiful and well cooked, you could eat in or go out to the myriad of places. We didn't have a bad meal anywhere. Skiathos is a very friendly place and I would recommend a visit. It's not the best Island for children as the roads a have few pavements. If we go back to Skiathos we would more than likely head to the Hermes as we felt welcomed, safe and part of the furniture. Ta leme meta.

Stayed here for a week 21st-28th August 2020. Staff very helpful, especially when luggage went missing at start of holiday.
A few phone calls and luggage was located and brought to us.
Due to hotel being on a hill the luggage arrives on separate vehicle.
Rooms are very basic, but that is expected on holiday as they are only used to sleep in. Safe in room was free to use.
Air Conditioning charged at €5 per night.
Was definitely needed. I put my thermometer out on the balcony in the direct sun at 09:30 and temperature reached 99.5f (37.5c).
We had a visit from a couple of Praying Mantis on the balcony in the morning. Fruit bats flying around at night.
A little disappointed that the hotel restaurant was closed during our stay, but many places to eat out and about.
There is also a Supermarket just outside on the hotel grounds.

What a great place to stay with lovely friendly staff throughout the hotel who made our holiday really enjoyable. We stopped in room 402 which was spacious and had an amazing view of the coast. Breakfast around the pool area with lovely views of the well tended gardens is simple and plentiful. The sun beds around the pool are 5 star quality and the pool is just the right size for a cooling dip. There is a great atmosphere at the end of the day round the bar area with Yannis who is the fab bartender and great fun with a wide beaming smile and a very loud laugh. There are 3 lovely beaches within a short walk……. Our favourite being Kolios beach. Eating places are plentiful in the local area but just outside the hotel at bus stop 13 takes you right into Skiathos Town with numerous places to eat and a lovely shopping experience with lots of good quality shops and only 10 mins away. Our favourite restaurant was Crazy Rooster within 10 mins walk from the hotel……. It’s a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Highly recommend the Island Hopping boat trip where the Captain and all his staff keep you thoroughly entertained with a fair few ABBA songs thrown in for good measure. On a final note be aware that the hotel is up quite a steep slope so just be mindful of this if you have any disability issues but it’s honestly not that bad so don’t be out off by any negative reviews. Thank you Hermes Hotel for a fab time and we will certainly be back.

Brilliant little hotel, with the most wonderful staff and owner. Get the bad out of the way........
We were here during storm daniel, there was torrential rain, thunder and lightening for 27hrs non stop. he village centre at bus stop 15/16 was under water/mud/rocks with football sized boulders washing down the main road. you'll hear the Hermes is up a steep drive, boy were we glad.
Apart from 3 days of rain we had a fantastic time, Angelo the owner was always on site, very friendly and approachable. Christina and Frosso serve beakfast, wth lots of freshly cooked eggs, omelettes, bacon sausage, and cheeses. Kristina the chef and her helper turn out some very good food .
Alex at the pool bar is a great guy. Christina is back in the restaurant for dinner and the food, and service are very good. The pool is lovely and we always got sunbeds for a lazy pool day with no reserving evident.
We used the local Kolios beach and the Beach House facilities are exceptional. Yes, you must reserve sunbeds the days/s before you want them, but you get used to it. E20 for two beds parasol, two small waters and use of a safe fixed to your parasol pole. The food here is outstanding. Eat at your sunbed or at the restaurant, food is just as good.
The busses are amazing Hermes is bus stop 13 so its E2 each to get into Skiathos town, last bus back around 1am!!!
We ate at lots of places around bus stops 15/16. Had a meal at Infinity Blue (recommended to us), but apart from the view it was underwhelming, and bloody expensive.
The sports bar just after bus stop 15 is great, all sports, multi screens and cheap.
The Hermes is a great hotel, well run/managed, an excellent base for travelling, fantastic staff, lovely king size comfy beds.

There was a hairdryer in the apartment, but no iron or board. It seemed like the sort of accomodation where they would have had one for borrowing.
