This was our first time back to Casa Olea in almost 3 years & boy, we’ve missed it! This was also our first time booking all 6 rooms out to celebrate mine & my mother-in-law’s recent ‘big’ birthdays. Tim & Claire remain (I think) amongst the best hosts that we have ever encountered during our travels all over the place. The place is immaculate & just so welcoming - our whole group loved our stay from start to finish. Every meal was brilliant & nothing was too much to ask. Make sure you listen to Tim & Claire for recommendations too - Vaquena in particular is a highlight & one not to be missed. We have already booked our next family stay & counting down the days already
Since our first wonderful stay at Casa Olea in 2018, we have wanted to return and finally were able to this spring. It's difficult to think of what could be added to the reviews on this site, so I'll just confirm that this beautiful and immaculate small inn has exceptional views, food, hiking, a great location for daytrips to historical and cultural sites, and owners Tim and Claire who make every visit delightful. We are looking forward to a third visit as soon as we can arrange it, and will bring friends or family along to share this amazing place.
Just wonderful! This was our seventh visit and Casa Olea never disappoints. Our ‘go to’ place for relaxation and to escape. We cannot recommend this place highly enough for the scenery, walks, birdsong, cultural highlights and above all the wonderful hosts, Claire and Tim. Not forgetting the fantastic food and the amazing dogs Ruby and Chocco!
We are happy to have spent some wonderful days in this special house where calm, relaxation and hospitality are the rule. f you are staying at Casa Olea, be sure to reserve a place for dinner. The meals (including breakfast) are very high quality. You can go on wonderful walks and cycling tours that have been mapped out by the hosts themselves. Everything is incredibly well looked after. Feeling good is the main focus here.
Cash Olea is a wonderful inn, in the middle of some great walking. The owners Tim and Clare could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Rooms are clean and airy, best views towards the river, good showers. Breakfast was a decent fresh selection including home made jams. We ate there two evenings as well - family style, so limited choice however Clare easily and happily accommodated our lactose intolerant friend. Very good home cooking and a decent selection of local wine. Everything had been thought through- laminated walking guides, a fire lit in the living room just to take the chill off in the evenings, great packed lunches for walking. Ruby the dog (mentioned in many other reviews) is a wonderful walking companion! Highly recommended, we wished we were there for longer and will definitely be back. Thank you…
Everything about Casa Olea met or exceeded our expectations. The location is beautiful and calming. Hosts Tim & Claire are charming and exceptionally helpful. The food was delicious and the wine list featuring many local & regional wines was satisfying and well priced. Rooms are quite comfortable and spotlessly clean. We look forward to an opportunity to visit again and stay longer.
At the helm of this quiet, 'secret' little Casa Rural, are Tim & Claire the owners who work tirelessly to make this a very special place. Casa Olea is tranquil. There are stunning views, endless birdsong (the dawn chorus is outstanding), gorgeous wildflowers, lots of great walks and places to visit. The meals are delicious starting from buffet breakfast and ending with fabulous evening meal. Packed lunches are also available. Throughout our stay we much appreciated the attentiveness of our hosts, their expert knowledge of the area, tips & hints, interesting conversations and impressive G&Ts. We have had many special holidays, but our fortnight stay at Casa Olea is in our top three alongside a safari in Tanzania and a tour of South Africa. This is one of the most unspoilt areas of Spain and worth exploring from your base at Casa Olea.…
Casa Olea is in a lovely area in between Cordoba and Granada. It’s called Subbetica I believe. This area is off the main tourist track but it shouldn't be. It’s beautiful and peaceful set amongst Olive trees with tons of walking paths, beautiful white villages, some with Moorish castles and lots of birds. Yesterday an exotic bird called a bee eater flew in. I hadn’t ever heard of it. I listen to Nightingales at night and star gazing is amazing since it’s away from lights. Casa Olea is the perfect spot to enjoy all of this Tim and Claire are very helpful with great suggestions. Their place is spotless clean and so relaxing. There is a beautiful pool where you can refresh or just relax and enjoy the afternoon after a good walk. If you choose you can book dinner at Casa Olea. Claire makes fabulous meals with home baked cakes. Tim makes good drinks and has beautiful Spanish wines you can order. They even have their own olives and olive oil which is delicious! Besides Cordoba or Granada there are several places you can make day trips using Casa Olea as a base. Some of these include Baeza, Ubeda, Priego to name a few. Don't miss out. Casa Olea is a gem and a perfect place to experience authentic Spain.…
Simply a wonderful experience from booking to checking out. I originally reached out before booking to find out more about stargazing that the local region is known for. Tim was quick to respond with some sound advice. Once we arrived the useful tips kept on coming and both Tim and Clair provided us with more then enough local knowledge to allow us to tailor our activities during our stay there to ensure make most of our trip. We checked out the neighbouring towns, explored the trails, booked in a spa and also had dinner at Casa Olea... all based on their recommendations and each time we were delighted without choices. 100% will be returning as that region as left us wanting more and we would be fools not to continue to take advantage of their local knowledge. See you in September Guys!…
Our two night stay coincided with some pretty awful wet weather, exacerbated by an extreme case of orange dust coming in from the Sahara; but Tim and Claire gave a superb warm welcome and helped us make the most of our stay. Membrillo was a lovely room, with two aspects over the peaceful countryside, and breakfast was a generous buffet. The highlight were the two excellent dinners (served five nights a week, I understand), with a great opportunity for socialising beforehand and afterwards with the hosts and other guests; a comfortable, cosy lounge almost made up for not being able to spend any time out on the terraces.
