This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The host was bad-tempered, rude and unaccommodating. The tiny portions of food could not be classified as dinner. No starters, pasta with a variety of stir in sauces or a very fatty lamb chop. The best bit was the ice cream! We were told off for trying to come into the...

This quiet remote rural hotel has a very friendly and accommodating manager and the meals are reasonably priced and pretty good however, you should note you may not be staying in the main hotel complex. There are separate rooms 100m down the hill and these rooms are not represented on expedia. Our room was very clean albeit the mattress was...

After a terribly long ride into the thick countryside, we arrived at this stunning Hotel, hidden away from the noise and commercial tourism of Sardinia. Michel the Manager is truly a helpful and generous host, giving us some great tips on local places of interest as well as suggesting ways to save money. The food provided at the Hotel is...

Stayed in June 2006. Difficult to find at first as it is off the beaten track but it was nearly dark when we arrived and we missed the massive signs on the main road so maybe we were a bit to blame. The location is fantastic and try and get a sea view if you can. The rooms that overlook...

Hotel Santa Maria only opened in 2005 so everything is new. For the low price, having a lovely clean pool is great value, very nice rooms. A good family deal - two interconnected bedrooms sharing bathroom. To get away from it all, can't be beaten - 20 minutes by car to anywhere at all, hard to find at the beginning....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Santa Maria faces towards Corsica through a pristine area between land and sea with lush vegetation and crystal clear waters where even in August it is not hard to find exclusive and isolated corners. The building is faithful to the ancient "STAZZO" tradition, a dwelling-house of ancient shepherds. Made from an old family business, the structure is built around a central area, the first one, which hosts the reception, breakfast room and bar; upstairs there are 4 double bedrooms, 2 of which have panoramic views overlooking the valley, the others overlook the hotel swimming pool.In front of the pool, overlooking Corsica, 2 family rooms, ideal for a family of 3 or 4 people (consisting of 2 different rooms connected with each other and set up with all amenities) make up the second and third structure of the hotel. The fourth structure instead has 3 double rooms with private entrance, one with a view towards the hills with its pristine and wild vegetation, the other looking towards the straits of Bonifacio. The fifth structure is 100 metres from the breakfast room, bar and pool area. For those who want more privacy and comfort, Family and Comfort rooms are available for our guests, which have private entrance and furnished garden. The last structure is home to the Exclusives, the flagships of our hospitality: There are rooms built with exposed stone, in the typical old nuraghes style, with a special courtesy service to pamper you and make you feel even more at home. Completely independent, they look towards Corsica, giving you thrilling sunsets with breathtaking scenery. ... more   less
