I honestly can’t praise this place enough. Went there a couple of years ago in the summer and stayed in Harrier Lodge. Had an amazing time, beautiful views and so peaceful. Loved it that much I knew I had to go back again. This time we went for the last week in December/first week in January, and stayed in Eagle Lodge. There was 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs in our group and the lodge had plenty of room for us all. Lovely, cosy and contains everything you will need in the lodge. The owner, Les, is a lovely man and will help with anything if needed. I absolutely love this place, could go here year after year!

Beautiful secluded location and well equipped and clean chalet, we stayed in Osprey. The owners Les and Michelle are very friendly and approachable as are their 2 dogs Darcy and Bea.

We took our dog with us and couldn't keep her out of the Loch and she instantly made friends with Darcy and Bea.

Such a tranquil location and very close to the banks of the loch.

I'm doing this review before our holiday is over because we are loving it so much, so much so we've just booked again for September 22.

I would well recommend this place for a quiet retreat and even better if you enjoy fishing.

Inverary is 9 miles away for the nearest shops, so stock up before hand. There's a phone box on the single track road leading to the with a honestly box and there's eggs, cakes etc.

There's a hotel on the road to the property and does very nice food and is only 5 mins drive or a 1 mile walk away.

Oban is 30 miles away with the ferry to Mull which is well worth going, unfortunately we didn't because of the weather, but will be doing next year.

Cabins are stunning, well heated and have any amenities you may need. Views anywhere on the grounds are stunning. Can fish from the private piers infront of cabins. Les the owner is a legend and made the stay perfect for us, making sure we had everything we needed. Inverary is about 25min drive and Oban around 50mins.

A relaxing and peaceful location right on the shores of Loch Awe. Friendly and helpful host and there was a hotel serving food a 20 minute walk away. We could launch our canoe easily. The views of the mountains and the loch from the chalet were amazing and hard to beat.

We had a super lodge called Harrier , right at the loch side, it was simply brilliant. The lodge was so cosy and comfy beds too. Cant find a fault with this place and even had super bbq outside. We had a small dog and he loved it being out at the water all the time. And a lovely complementary bottle of wine for our arrival too. thanks so much Michele & Les. We had the best time and cant thank you enough for the lovely lodge and amazing place you have there.

Room Tip: Harrier or Eagle but all four have views of the loch so any one would be great.

First time staying here, but there will be many more visits to come! Stayed here for 2 nights in mid September for a fishing trip. We were lucky enough enough to stay in the Eagle lodge, right on the loch side. The lodge itself was immaculate and had literally everything you could need. The pictures on the website really don't do it justice! Although the inside is nice, the views round the back are the true selling point. I've never seen anything like it. We were able to keep our boat at the private jetty over night which was very useful. Owners have done an incredible job! Can't wait to go back :)

We have just returned from a week's stay at this beautiful location. For the 4th year running, we had the pleasure of staying in The Eagle Lodge. The views of the loch are spectacular, there's nothing better than looking out of the chalet and seeing the loch. We were lucky with the fishing this year, I even managed to catch a 13lb pike. I would definately recommend Argyll Chalets to my friends, it truly is Scotland's hidden secret. Thank you to Michele and Les, great hosts :)

We booked a lodge at Argyll Chalets in July 2014 as a last minute getaway, based purely on the reviews on tripadvisor, and the fact that pets are welcomed, as we have an old Labrador who can't go in kennels,. The fact that it was considerably cheaper than many similar chalets in Argyll was a complete bonus. Now, I'm almost reluctant to leave a review because it might make it more difficult to get booked next time we want to go. This place is a little piece of paradise found.

The chalet we were in ('Falcon', one of only four chalets in the beautiful grounds) was exceptionally clean and exceedingly well kitted out with all the kitchen equipment a keen cook could ask for, and many homely touches from sewing kit to hair dryer, DVDs, dog bed and hand soap. The waiting bottle of red wine was a nice touch too! The beds are also very comfortable, which has not always been our experience in holiday lets.

As previous reviewers have noted, this place is well off the beaten track so it's a good idea to bring a couple of days worth of groceries etc with you as the nearest shops are several miles away. Oban has large supermarkets but is a long round trip. There are shops in Inverary, including Londis, but still a bit of a trek. But it's isolation is part of its charm: no traffic noise, no crowds, quite probably no mobile phone signal (O2 was fine but Three bbonly at the end of the jetty!) and no light pollution at night so the stars are incredible to see. And the views across the loch to Ben Cruachan are superb. And it was great that Rolo the dog could wander about off the lead and swim in the loch. He loved surveying 'his' territory from the veranda.
Many thanks to Michele for her hospitality, and to Darcey the Dalmatian for keeping Rolo company. We will be back.
