Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Detailed Reviews
Spent one night in Room 4 but wish it could have been longer. Modern sleek decor in a large Victorian room with dual aspect and although on a main road traffic noise was not intrusive. Reception was welcoming and professional and had some good recommendations for evening food at local pubs.
Breakfast was very good and a service friendly.
We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly choose Alexander Court Hotel again if we are visiting Stoke-on-Trent again.

What a lovely hotel had a one night stay on the Sunday of the bank holiday with my husband - very COVID safe in fact i felt as safe as when in my own home -was greeted by a really nice lady on arrival who took our temperature and explained everything about the hotel and how they are working with COVID and then given room 12, Large room with extra large bed nice bathroom toiletries kettle tea coffee etc. Very well decorated throughout and exceptionally clean. Breakfast was perfect piping hot and delicious. We had a chat with the owner who was a really nice guy. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer i will definitely return and will recommend as its a perfect base for getting around and exploring also right at the side of a lovely lake and park.

Congleton has just a few hotels in close proximity to the town centre - so I'm glad we picked this one. We only stayed one night but the room was spacious, clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and cosy.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful at all times and the manager we met briefly was very hospitable too.
As we were visiting friends for lunch it was great to be able to arrange an early check in and park our car outside before heading into town whilst our room was still being cleaned. They even offered to store our luggage and move it into our room ready for our return. This made it really simple to return later with easy access too. The staff were great at responding to emails to organise this.
The bar and back garden area looked great in the evening - hopefully one day we'll return and get a chance to try them out.

Looking at the other reviews, I think we got the wrong room. We were in room 8 which was really quite small for the two of us and didn’t reflect the pictures and other peoples experience. The room was very cold when we arrived and once the radiator was turned on, it was a few hours before we were warm enough to take our jumpers off. We could hear people in the next room even though they were at normal volumes. Could be because of the interconnecting door. The shower pressure was very low and there isn’t a bath but taps had plenty of hot water. On the positive, the staff were friendly and the breakfast wasn’t bad. There is a lovely terrace which must be nice to sit out in when warmer and the location is good. Good parking. Would recommend the local Indian restaurant for food. If stayed again would ask for a different room as it was expensive for the size.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Alexandra Court Hotel. It is a beautifully decorated hotel with stunning gardens which can be viewed from the lovely covered seating area. The deluxe double was very spacious, the website photos do not do the rooms justice.
Staff were extremely helpful recommending local places to eat and buy sandwiches for our packed lunches, and everyone made us feel safe and welcome.
It is well positioned for visiting National Trust properties and for walking in the Staffordshire and Cheshire countryside.
Would thoroughly recommend.

The rooms are stunning, spotless and so warm and cosy, the bedding is of very high quality and we had an amazing nights sleep,
Every single person at this hotel is so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble,
The dining area is beautiful and it’s so nice to listen to the Piano music playing while you tuck in to an amazing quality breakfast,

First hotel stay since lockdown. Very clean and organised. Lovely bedrooms, great breakfast and a top London hotel standard Afternoon Tea of homemade cakes and sandwiches (owner previously worked as patisserie chef at five star Claridges Hotel in London).
Highly recommend. Good location for surrounding countryside and villages.

We stayed here for our wedding (which was a couple of miles up the road) for 2 nights in April (the night before, and the night of), and I would just like to say how lovely it was.
The service we had prior to the wedding to try to coordinate the guests into what room (we had booked the whole hotel), Jane who helped me was amazing, really friendly and really helpful. Thank you Jane. She arranged for an additional temporary bed to be added to one of the rooms which will be removed the next day so we can all get ready.
When we arrived the day before, the hotel kindly let us check in early (as the rooms were vacant) to drop my dress off and some other items.
The rooms were all absolutely beautiful. Decorated really lovely. The hotel itself is lovely and the breakfast room is lovely too. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained.
The only issue I'd say is the man (I think he's the owner) came across a bit moody and rude. We also asked him kindly to move the temporary bed (as promised by Jane) he was quite moody and rude about it saying he didn't know anything about the agreement. He did remove it, but it felt a little awkward.
However, there were times we chatted with him and he seemed lovely also.
But despite this, it was a perfect stay and I would definately use this hotel again and recommend to others.
Thank you to the hotel staff for adding to our beautiful day. We had a perfect time and the stay in the hotel started and ended our day perfectly.
Thanks so much.

Hi Thank you for your great review and and for you feed back , as i know Jane and myself work hard to create your special day , however ! I feel i must respond to your comments about myself ,you asked for the put up bed to be removed at 6.45 am which wasnt an issue but i was setting up breakfast for you all , as you requested an early start due to hair and make up , and at the same time wanted the prosecco glasses washing which we had provided for you , and also the bride wanted to check into the bridal suite , which still had the guest in at 7 am , and i was asked twice for this . The video grapher at one point suspended the wedding dress from the main crystal chandelier which is suspended 15ft above the hall floor , which i asked for him to take down , as it was a disaster waiting to happen. All your guests we were able to have all checked by 11.15 am which took a lot of organizing ,and i also organised keys for the 2 rooms who didn't check in so they could gain access later that night. I was also asked for more prosecco glasses , which i gave to you , 2 of which were left the next day broken . At 1.30 am in the morning I was awoke by Staffordshire police requesting entry to my home as one of your guest had been arrested and were staying here ,the police needed to speak to one of your guests to ensure that they were safe, so i happily obliged to save waking any of you up . So i thought i would create a clearer picture for any future guests reading my reviews , so as not to cloud my reputation or there judgement , as my aim and ultimate goal is to ensure that all guests are warmly received and looked after , but there are sometimes when some demands stretch ones limits . Had you spoken to me on check out we could have discussed the above , as in your words i am a lovely person and approachable but perhaps you were not aware of some of the points that i mentioned above . Many Thanks and Kind Regards Andrew The Owner

This place is a very popular wedding venue. Andrew, the owner, is an award winning chef however they only serve breakfast but what a breakfast it is indeed. The Building is a heritage building but the ensuite rooms are amazing. The location is great and the gardens and grounds are so welcoming. Maggie the dog is a great wee soul and the staff member Mauricio is always ready to help out. You can even have a service wash of your clothing done at a great price. Parking is ample and easy. We always stay here when we visit from Canada.

I stayed at this hotel with a. I’ll eagle to deliver some training to a local company and was absolutely delighted with the service received. The owner and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. They made recommendations for dinner (which is highly recommended) and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Such a shame it was for work. Fully COVID compliant. Highly recommend.
