I arrived here late in the evening. It is easy to find, and about a 10min drive from the train station. The place was really quiet, and in the middle of nowhere. The room itself was really lovely. Very well kept. Clean feel with plenty of lighting. Warm and welcoming. It was quite a narrow room, however it made up... More

Took a little while to find someone to book in on arrival, but once we did it was a quick and efficient process. We were in a family room in the main building, it has two rooms really, one with two single beds and a main bedroom with double bed, dresser, and settee. Both rooms were very spacious and well... We wanted to stay within easy distance of York, so we could watch the marathon. We knew of the Cresswell Arms from an earlier visit and weren't disappointed. We had a lovely room with en suite, though the lighting over the bathroom mirror could have been better. Our evening meal in the bar was first rate, and the breakfast was... More

Lovely local pub with a straight forward menu of well cooked food with a twist. We'd been travelling around for a couple of days and this was our third and best meal of the trip. Good scampi with proper home made chips like my Granny used to make 👍🏻 The Brie bites wrapped in Parma ham were lovely and light.... More

We stayed at the Cresswell Hotel for 1 night before a going on a school trip to Eden Camp. We arrived at 6pm and a lovely young lady showed us to our room. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, nicely decorated. The only thing was that the single bed mattress was very lumpy and extremely uncomfortable. The road was very... More

Great comfortable stay, perfect location for our weekends activities. Rooms very comfortable and excellent extras in the way of toiletries. Staff were lovely at check in and during our stay, cleaning ladies vey accommodating and friendly. Good quality breakfast served by lovely friendly staff. The chap at checkout however was quite unpleasant and discourteous. Spoil it an otherwise lovely trip.... More

We stayed one night here on our way to Whitby. Our accommodation was in the courtyard at the back where we were able to park outside out door. The rooms were a very pleasant surprise, nice furnished, very comfortable bed but it was the bathroom, the shower was double size and had a mains shower that massaged. After 5 hours... More

Very nice location and beautifully decorated rooms which were spotlessly clean. The mattress was quite saggy so not a brilliant night's sleep but the overall comfort was very good. The breakfasts were really good and the evening meal (although slightly limited menu) was excellent. On arrival, we did not get the warm and friendly welcome that we have come to... More
