We arrived on a Saturday evening without a booking. The restaurant was full but the staff were excellent, we waited a while in the bar until they organised a table for us. The food and service was excellent! We would highly recommend this place!

Whilst staying locally we came across this restaurant almost by accident. The outside does not do it justice, especially on wet October afternoon. The menu had a French theme to it and when the food arrived it was superb. Croque Madame and a BLT, were simple but well worth the wait, freshly prepared and nicely presented. Service was also to...

I arrived after a long drive from Scotland about 5.30pm and was greeted by Frank, the owner, a frenchman. I was shown to my room, advised about dining and ate in the French restaurant, a surprise in the back of beyond. The menu was comprehensive, suitable for all tastes, I had the chicken provencal, very reasonably priced at £7.95 and...

We've been a few times by ourselves and with friends, we've never been disappointed. The service, food quality and the setting. Great! The atmosphere and menu, a nice French feel. The portions are generous and the pricing is competitive, there's also a reasonable selection. I've no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to friends and we'll be going back.

I came in August 2015 but could never remember the name until I passed through M.I.T again recently. This place is a hidden gem, the food was beautiful! My starter (soup) was maybe too much as I didn't want to stop eating but knew I had another two courses to come. The service wasn't obtrusive of our meal and the...

...melt in the mouth amazing beef bourguignon. Steak just perfect and lamb is excellent. Everything is just fantastic the problem is fitting it all in as the portions are huge. The sharing platter for a starter is excellent (but for 4 not 2), make sure you have a small lunch (if gong for dinner) and choose if you want either...

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and a friend recommended it to me. I was not disappointed!! The service is superb and the food excellent. Best Sirloin steak that I have eaten for a very long time! Nice touch with the handmade chocs with the bill. Price was good too! Will be back very soon :-)

I had partridge and my partner had a vegetarian option. Both were very tasty and well cooked. They came with plentiful and nicely prepared veg/chips/salad. No room for a pud. A pleasant atmosphere - you could almost be in a real French small hotel restaurant. A good selection of wines at reasonable prices although personally I'd have liked more French...
