I stayed for one night at this lovely B&B, I'm a solo traveller, so feeling comfortable and safe is paramount and had absolutely no worries staying here.
I met by Andrew who was extremely welcoming. My room was really lovely, absolutely spotless and I liked the small touches that make such a difference, an individual teapot, complimentary milk, water, fruit, mints, and yummy homemade biscuits, as well as nice toiletries.
The room was decorated beautifully as was the rest of this very old building! It's certainly well loved.
The bed was comfortable and the outlets have USB points, which are very handy for charging devices. Hairdryer, fridge, iron, and dressing gowns too
A cosy lounge was available ,and a small bar provided a range of drinks.
Breakfast was very good, good range and the breakfast room again was lovely and the table set immaculately.
The location is really nice, I stayed for an event at High Force Waterfalls, which was a short drive, and the village itself is very quaint.
Although a carpark is provided, the drive is very narrow , so i parked on the road outside, but no issues, really.
As this is a very old building, obviously noise can travel, and whilst I slept ok, the noise from the kitchen below travelled through early morning , fortunately I was already awake, but I was aware of a tv/ radio but not sure if this was from there or another guest, however like I said, it is an old building so that can be expected. Travelling with earplugs is recommended wherever you go !
But all in all, a lovely, comfortable stay.
Beautiful room, great food, and hospitality.

Arrived here as a group of 4 walking the Pennine Way after one of the longest days. Andrew was very welcoming and we were all impressed with our rooms and the many extras that he provided. We had a bowl of fruit in the room and a small fridge 'hidden' in the wardrobe that contained fresh milk and bottles of water. The breakfast was incredible with an amazing choice which we were still discussing days later. The B & B is centrally positioned and beautifully furnished. Thank you for your hospitality.

The room was perfect. At the end of a long day's walk the bath, bath salts (thoughtfully provided), and the small bunch of grapes (thoughtfully provided) were blissful.
The breakfast buffet was to die for (including homemade ginger cake and banana and walnut cake). I wanted to eat it all. And it was available from 7.
Full marks.

This Bed & Breakfast is a gem of a place to stay, the room was spotless, had everything you needed for a few days away. Complimentary teas, coffee, milk, water and lovely biscuits and fruit.
Toiletries provided with dressing gowns if you needed them.
Breakfast was faultless one of the best I have had as much or as little that you needed with a wide variety and selection of main breakfast course, also fruit, cereals, yoghurts, croissants, cake cold meats cheese etc. A big thank you to the host Andrew who made you very welcome.

This is truly beautiful guesthouse. The decor is tasteful and the rooms immaculate. Everything is catered for in the rooms and the detail is wonderful, even down to the small bowl of fruit to welcome you to your room. The breakfasts are beautifully cooked and the “full English will set you up for the day. I would not hesitate in returning and recommending these premises - you won’t be disappointed!

Just spend five nights here and couldn't have been happier. Our room and ensuite were fresh and clean with extra touches like robes and fruit that set it well above the norm. Not a big room but that was of no consequence when it had all you need and more. The bedding and bed were very comfortable.
The breakfast was of very high quality with amazing local bacon as a particular highlight. Never got round to tasting some of the options as the traditional breakfast was so good although another guest seemed to really enjoy his avocado on toast.
Our host was very friendly and helpful and prepared a good packed lunch for our walk to the stunning High Force nearby. Nothing appeared too much trouble; another guest requested soya milk which appeared for the next breakfast.
We did not use the lounge or bar facilities, as our days were so full that we settled down with a cuppa and a film in our room at the end of the day, but they would be a welcome addition for many.
Enjoyed a good read on the shaded patio as the river melodically babbled below. Thank you for making our long awaited getaway a most memorable one.

What is not to like. A comfortable well designed room with fresh fruit, with a warm welcome from the host, including fresh tea and brownies, quality tea and coffee in the room and finally a fantastic breakfast. If only we had room to try some of everything !

On top of this, a lovely sitting room with books and games, and a couple of nice pub restaurants within 100m for evening meals.

We enjoyed a one night stay at the delightful Brunswick House. Andrew the proprietor and host greeted us with fresh coffee and homemade brownies. The rooms were clean, fresh and inviting. The house itself is over 200 years old and full of charm and character.
We went out to the nearby Grassholme Observatory and it was lovely to return back to the cosy and comfortable room after an evening outdoors on the moors. Breakfast was delicious. The menu on offer catered for all of our individual preferences and was cooked to perfection.
Andrew was a lovely host and we would highly recommend this guest house.

A friendly welcome from a very well-appointed b&b. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was spot on. For hikers it's great that the b&b takes one night bookings. A very restful night at a reasonable price. Well located in the centre of Middleton and close to the Teesdale Hotel for an evening meal. A highly recommended b&b in all aspects.
