Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've just returned from spending 4 nights in Baldash Cottage and can honestly say that it's the best b&b we have ever stayed in. Wonderful location and the accommodation is out of this world. Bru and Paul are terrific hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We heartily recommend a stay here. Margaret and John

Stayed for 5 days. The property is set in stunning countryside. All of our needs were catered for by wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend. Visited during COVID pandemic, everything was very well organised and we felt very safe.

The property is really nice, attention to detail very clean and cater for dogs. Great location for walks, donkey sanctuary or a walk down to Seaton from the property through the woods. Great breakfast and hosts were really welcoming and friendly.

Bru and Paul gave us a week in the lodge which was simply just fabulous. The lodge was spotless, comfortable, private and with every conceivable attention to detail and provision all catered for. Our hosts are a really lovely couple who give their utmost attention to your comfortable stay. Always there to help if needed and offering all the information on places to go and see. They made us and our 2 boys most welcome and we would certainly be going again!!

Bru and Paul are fantastic hosts. They love what they do and it shows! We stayed at Baldash Cottage for four nights and would happily have stayed longer. The thatched cottage is in a wonderful peaceful position and our double ensuite room was furnished to a high standard with lovely views. Breakfast was exceptional both in terms of the food and presentation. When we requested haddock for breakfast one morning Bru went out to the fish stall in the nearby village of Beer to make sure it was fresh. We think this is one of the best places we have stayed in and would highly recommend.

Was badly let down by another B&B in the area for the last 2 nights of our 10 day stay in Branscombe, so just googled B&B in the area & BALDASH COTTAGE came up. What a find!! Bru & Paul are the most wonderful hosts of their spectacular home tucked away at the end of a dead-end lane...... Athough they had only just said goodbye to departing guests & were not really ready for any more.....they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Nothing was too much trouble & they greeted my 9 year old grandson, my daughter, myself & Bertie the dog into their home & their busy lives. Thank you both for rescuing the last day of our holiday!

Stayed here in the lodge for a week, Bru and Paul went out of their way to make me welcome even though they were away at an event when I was due to arrive, the kettle was filled, the teacup was on the table and milk in the fridge, not mention a lovely lemon cake in a tin for me. The cottage is very well kitted out I couldn't think of anything that you could need even down to cling film in a drawer in. The lodge itself has been very well refurbished to a very high standard of workmanship and its furnished tastefully with high quality throughout. There's a lovely balcony to sit out on when it's sunny, and on a clear night you just must lay on the grass and gas up at the stars. Living in a city you just don't see how many stars there are up there. Its so quiet too and a couple of nice walks from lodge along the footpath. A note of advice, make sure that you get good directions as it coukd be hard to find, my sat nav took me straight there altough I did have a wobble when ended up in a farmyard, carry on through. Big thanks to Bru and Paul for a lovley week and all the little details supplied in the lodge. See you soon.

We stayed in the Lodge for a week this September and although Paul and Bru were away, they telephoned to make sure we had settled in and that we had everything we needed. The Lodge is set in wonderful countryside and is so peaceful. The first morning we awoke to find a doe and her fawn grazing on blackberries in the field and my husband also saw a kestrel. There were many pheasants roaming freely. The location is ideal for seeing the surrounding area as most places are within a 15 - 20 minute car journey and Branscombe beach itself is very scenic. We found plenty of places to eat locally and again, Paul and Bru gave us some good recommendations. It was like a home from home. I can see why people keep returning and we will definitely be back, hopefully next year.

We stayed at Baldash Lodge for a week in August. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect and the owners made us feel very welcome. The Lodge is in the grounds of the owners' house/B&B but we barely saw anyone else all week. The views are stunning and the Lodge is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard - we lacked nothing. We could walk from the Lodge to the village and beach (about 2 miles) and other beauty spots. There are great restaurants and pubs within striking distance and things to do in the area. It was a great week and we had a lovely rest. We would definitely go back.
