Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've just returned from spending 4 nights in Baldash Cottage and can honestly say that it's the best b&b we have ever stayed in. Wonderful location and the accommodation is out of this world. Bru and Paul are terrific hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We heartily recommend a stay here.

Stayed for 5 days. The property is set in stunning countryside. All of our needs were catered for by wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend. Visited during COVID pandemic, everything was very well organised and we felt very safe.

The property is really nice, attention to detail very clean and cater for dogs. Great location for walks, donkey sanctuary or a walk down to Seaton from the property through the woods.

Great breakfast and hosts were really welcoming and friendly.

Tucked away in a secluded green valley with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere pervading all, together with superb hospitality offered by the hosts Paul and Bru, it is difficult to imagine a better spot for a holiday or short stay. During our four night break, everything was provided for our comfort and well-being with a vast choice of breakfast alternatives. Anything we requested was provided for us - their suggestions of local dining places were excellent. All-in-all we felt genuinely welcome in their home.

Exceptional welcome, breakfast- whatever you want, cooked how you like it. Spotlessly clean, large bedroom with views of the grounds ( can't say garden as its huge) including deer roaming. What a treat, off the beaten track, so peaceful but close enough to popular resorts. Interior? Well all I can say is "gob smacked" the wood work is fantastic in fact everything is of exceptional quality.
Thank you Paul and Bru for making our holiday unforgettable.

We had 2 nights at Baldash Cottage which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were given a lovely warm welcome by Norman, Paul's dad and later met Paul and Bru who made us feel very welcome all over again. Our room upstairs was very spacious and was spotless. Breakfast was excellent with no shortage of choice, the best sausages I have tasted. The weather was a bit on the wet side but Paul came up with the perfect place for us to visit - Beer Quarry which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The cottage is a beautiful thatched cottage set in a very tranquil garden all very peaceful. Highly recommended, we will definitely stay here again when next down in this beautiful part of Devon.

We stayed in the Lodge for a week this September and although Paul and Bru were away, they telephoned to make sure we had settled in and that we had everything we needed. The Lodge is set in wonderful countryside and is so peaceful. The first morning we awoke to find a doe and her fawn grazing on blackberries in the field and my husband also saw a kestrel. There were many pheasants roaming freely. The location is ideal for seeing the surrounding area as most places are within a 15 - 20 minute car journey and Branscombe beach itself is very scenic. We found plenty of places to eat locally and again, Paul and Bru gave us some good recommendations. It was like a home from home. I can see why people keep returning and we will definitely be back, hopefully next year.

We stayed at Baldash Lodge for a week in August. From the moment we arrived everything was perfect and the owners made us feel very welcome. The Lodge is in the grounds of the owners' house/B&B but we barely saw anyone else all week. The views are stunning and the Lodge is decorated, furnished and equipped to a very high standard - we lacked nothing. We could walk from the Lodge to the village and beach (about 2 miles) and other beauty spots. There are great restaurants and pubs within striking distance and things to do in the area. It was a great week and we had a lovely rest. We would definitely go back.

I stayed in Baldash Lodge with my other half in mid-February and can say that the cottage is even better than we thought it would be!

Set in East Devon, only a short distance to a number of seaside villages and towns, the location is perfect. It is just a short trip to either Sidmouth or Lyme Regis, and an almost direct road to Exeter, although we could've happily stayed all weekend in the lodge.

The lodge itself is beautifully furnished and so warm and comfortable, and the attention to detail is excellent. The view is beautiful too, looking into the valley in the mist felt like we were in the middle of a fantasy novel. Can't fault a thing! (My other half couldn't seem to find a wifi connection, but I thought it was nice to get away from the constant connectivity)

The owners, Paul and Bru were so kind and welcoming, and even made us a cake.

I hope to stay here again soon.
