Worst place for customer service ever. Had a large table booked for a family meal and myself,wife and child couldn't make it as my job decided to make me work my rest days. I called up the restaurant and explained the situation and asked about our deposit. Was told we would not get this back. My family of course still went out and when the bill came saw that my deposit was taken off but added straight back on for them to pocket. They still had the cheek to add on the service charge at the end. Absolute awful we was looking forward to going as menu sounded nice but after this will not even give them the time of day!!.

Four of us met up for a meal & a chat. We all had the stuffed mushroom starter from the fixed meal. Absolutely lovely! We all had different mains. No complaints there either! Top job to the chefs, Rich & Sarah! Full marks to our server too! Very friendly, professional & patient!! We’ve been here before & we’ll certainly be back again!! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Was recommended so gave it a try, was pleased that l did. Easy online booking, window table requested {done}. pleasant efficient friendly staff, pleasant location, best carvery we have had in q long time, 5 meats wide selection of vegs [including brussels greens parsnips]. plus to make our day complete, afterwards a family game of Pool.

I booked Rettendon Lodge Events marquee a year prior to my event. As soon as I saw the venue, I knew this is where I wanted my 30th birthday celebration to be. Samantha the event planner was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. All my emails responded to within 12 hours (knowing how busy Samantha was, this was never an expectation to be responded to so promptly) In the days leading up to the event, I had absolutely no worries with how the party would go. Everything I wanted was never too much for Samantha and she explained everything in detail. On the night, Samantha and her team made my guests feel welcome at all times. We also did mine and my partners gender reveal the same evening and it was perfect 💙 Samantha, you're the most amazing event planner I know and I'm so grateful for you, thank you once again. We also stayed in the lodge, Hannah was fantastic with booking the rooms and getting these arranged for me and my guests. The NOISE of bass music all night long played in the bar beneath our room - didn't sleep a wink after a 6 hour car journey from Devon, we were exhausted. Add to that the party in the next door room ( which resulted in an argument with the guests at 12:45 am) and paper thin walls and squeaky floor boards - it was just terrible. NEVER going back there ever again ! and I would advise anyone with a thought to stay at this place to not to go there. We stayed for one night and could not wait to leave. We have never stayed in such a noisy place ever, It was unbelievable and like complete mental torture after such a long car journey It wants reporting to the Hotel inspectors. it was so bad. The food was average but not brilliant either. This is an events /party hotel if you are part of the event that is held here, and staying there because of it then fine, but if not, don't bother because you WILL regret staying there if you aren't - take my word for it The Noise ?? oh my ! . Horrendous! Service poor. And food even worse. All microwaved food not fresh. Sandwich bread poor. Kids meal chips half cooked and burger probably cost them about 10p it was vile Wait time also awful

We went for my husbands 60th birthday with family and friends . We had an amazing night we wasnt rushed and the food was excellent could not fault it. Angela who oversaw the whole of it was amazing ,she made it a .lovely experience thanks to the chef waitresses and other staff was worth every penny . We will be back .

So glad we chose this hotel for a night away, firstly when shown to our room it was spacious, bright and lovely and clean. We decided to have a meal we sat in the bar and I must say the ribs was so tasty and they fell of the bone and unfortunately I never got to try the desserts as the portion was so big. Found all the staff really friendly and helpful.

We visited the restaurant yesterday evening , the food was so tasty ordered cajun burger and lasagna you can tell they are all cooked from fresh and home made,speed of service was good . Looking at the events they have coming up thinking of getting some friends together will definitely come back .
