Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for a night away with the husband. Loved everything about it, the shower was lovely and we had a lovely view of the market square. The bed was super comfy and we loved that we could log into our Netflix and chill out in the evening watching a film. Everything was super clean and the pillows were so soft. The bread shop below had the most amazing treats so check that if when you stay

We had a two night stay here. It's a lovely, private hotel, really comfy, a home away from home. There are no on-site staff as everything is done electronically, with door codes sent the day before you arrive. It's worth downloading the hotel's app, which is packed with local info.

Absolutely perfect little boutique hotel! Stayed two nights and wish I could have stayed longer. Firstly Tim was incredibly helpful and accommodating as well as super responsive! Secondly- the place is a dream! Beautifully sized, spotlessly clean room with wonderful attention to detail. This is such a gem of a hotel in a beautiful village. I can’t recommend enough. I’ll definitely be back!

Very high quality fixtures and fittings, all of which worked. Very pleased with the shower, good flow and easy to control. The bed was very comfortable. Our room, Ostlers, opened to the street, not the issue we thought it might be, traffic is very quiet overnight in Norfolk. No food supplied onsite so we tried the Proper Pizza Company. Just walk behind the building. Best pizza we have ever had.

It has been my first visit to Norfolk to visit places like Holkham Beach. Really loved my experience and especially staying in a place like The Ironmongers, such a cozy and warm place. Very clean, well decorated, and charming. My room was The Biscuiteers and had such a lovely stay. The place is located in the heart of a small town, with nice local businesses to eat and just 10-15 min from North Walsham Station and Norwich city and the coast. Fully recommended.

I really enjoyed my stay at the ironmongers. My room was spacious but felt homely and cozy. I loved the eclectic art and furniture, it was well curated and made this hotel stand out against other generic luxurious hotels. The entire building is spotless and has tons of original, historic features. There are cafes, tea rooms and pubs all walking distance from the hotel, I had some very enjoyable food during my stay and also enjoyed the coffee and tea provided in my room. The water pressure was great and the towels were thick and fluffy. The bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet, I slept so well. I also loved that the owners chose to use sustainable toilet paper! I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aylsham. I would stay here again.

While visiting Norfolk I had the pleasure of staying at the Ironmomgers hotel centrally located on the pretty town square of Aylsham. I Stayed in the Florist room which was very spacious and stylishly furnished to a high standard one would expect in a top London boutique hotel. Keeping some of the original ironworks features of the building makes it even more charming. The shower was nice and strong and the bed was comfy I had a peaceful sleep. I also enjoyed the cosy armchairs with the view on to the square, perfect for those downtimes times between excursions. On the whole the room was excellent, and felt luxurious. The square itself has a delicious bakery cafe and a pub that serves great food so you don't have to go far for good food. There is no reception, instead access to the hotel and rooms are with key codes which I liked! no faffing around with checking in. The rooms also have coffee and tea which you can top up from a station in the hallway and wifi is included. I had a very enjoyable stay and I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to visit Norfolk.

We stayed in The Cobblers room. Spacious room and bathroom with everything we needed for our two night stay. Unique objects to reflect the name of the room. Perfect location for us to explore Alysham, which is a lovely little town. All the rooms in The Ironmongers looked great in the pictures, We wanted to peek inside them all. A lovely comfortable stay. Great communication from Tim the owner and very helpful. Wendy and Jeff Hall Cambridge

We were so impressed with this hotel and will definitely stay again. The standard of decoration and furnishings was very high and the location was superb. Right in the centre of this delightful market town. The owner was so helpful in allowing us to check in early as we were attending a wedding.

An unusual hotel as it is not staffed and access is by keypad but this is fine. Rooms are decorated to a high standard. It is in a very central location in a pleasant town but was quiet nonetheless. The rooms were not cleaned/made up during our two night stay and the management explain that this is due to concerns over Covid. I think in the current situation this is excessively cautious and not in line with most hotels. At £175 per night in November I think it is overpriced.
