This is a very nice place to stay. They have a nice style through the whole resort. The resort is amazing and you feel welcome and relaxed from the very first step you put into the resort. The welcome refreshing drink is nothing new in such establishments but the moist towel they give you to refresh yourself after the one hour drive from the airport makes this welcome ceremony more amazing.
You can see signs of aging here and there but thw whole resort, the rooms and restaurants are well maintained.
The staff is nice, friendly and competent. The beach is very beautiful but as some other guests already mentioned the beach boys are quite unnerving.
The food is excellent. The buffet restaurant is not the biggest I have seen (in terms of the number of dishes) but the food is very variable and the quality is excellent. They even know how to competently handle difficult guests.
The whole resort is built in a way that despite so many guests, no single spot looks overcrowded. You can always have a nice and peaceful spot for yourself.
The housekeeping is amazing. Perhaps one of the best according to my experience.
We were overall very happy and satisfied with our choice except for an unhappy incident during our checkout. Since our flight was late in the evening, we have asked for an extended checkout which they accepted. After coming to an agreement about the price and having paid the priced, we realized from our tour organizer than we have paid more than double the usual price. This left a bitter taste at the end of our travel. If you decide to ask for an extended stay and late checkout, double check with your travel organizer before you handle with the hotel staff on your own.

All services provided by Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa are great. The most appreciated thing during my six night stay was the genuine friendliness of the staff. They are really great people who offered me a memorable experience, not only on my birthday, but throughout the whole vacation. The way they deal with their customers is not the one imposed by the job, like I have seen in most hotels, but a very pleasant one. The location is great, the hotel being placed on a private beach where swimming is possible, unlike other hotels in the area, that I checked before choosing this one. Cleanliness throughout the entire resort is extremely good, the garden is well kept, all rooms have beautiful views and large balconies or terraces. The rooms are cleaned in the mornings and then prepared for sleeping in the evenings. Being cautious about mosquito bites, I used protective spray when going outside in the evenings, but I didn't see even one mosquito all this time. For me, another important thing when choosing a resort is food, because you depend on the meals they provide. The food and beverages management got my appreciation for their visible efforts to offer top quality services. The food was very good, fresh and there was a big variety of dishes from both traditional and international cuisine. Fresh coconut water in coconut shell, drinks and snacks were served on the beach. The live shows in the evenings were good and the reception staff very helpful. All in all, the services and the atmosphere were perfect for me and I already recommended this hotel to my friends.

From the moment we got there, the staff spared no expense to make us feel welcome, and to ensure a luxurious experience right from the get go. All the facilities were impeccably maintained, the selection of food made us feel like we had gained 2 kilos each by the end of the trip and the whole experience was just incredibly relaxing. In 10 steps you could get from the pool to the beach, which truly was the best way to experience Zanzibar. The extreme comfort of our rooms made our stay all the more enjoyable. Cannot wait to go back (especially to the spa - it definitely is a must try)!!

We have spent four days with our three adult kids in the Pwani Beach resort. To start with the positive: large and beautiful gardens and beach area, and general architecture, large rooms and bathrooms (although not much intimacy between the two), decent food, and generally friendly people. But this seems to be standard in all beach fronting Sansibar hotels.
The big backdrop is the service however. Everything is slow, and you have to ask for things you shouldn‘t have to ask for at this category. “Can you please change the towels, can you please bring shower gel and shampoo”, you arrive a little late for dinner, “sorry no more napkins(!). All these little details, which you don‘t want to think about when on this kind of holidays. More annoyingly, the hotel boasts a large variety of watersports, but when you get there, you meet a guy who hardly speaks English, is on the phone to his boss for the slightest question, and tells you that everything is either broken or not available. So no jet-ski (broken), water mattresses or bananas (not available despite confirmed reservation). So very disappointing.
One of my colleagues was at another hotel further North in Zanzibar, with very different feedback. So it must be the hotel...
And to finish the picture, the postcards I gave to reception at departure never arrived in Europe 😡.

Everything was wonderful and we had a great time at Neptune Pwani Beach Resort. The staff was very nice, meeting you with a smile every time and trying to give us a good service. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, with beautiful view and large terrace (we stayed on the beach area). Every day, the room was cleaned in the morning and then prepared for sleeping in the evening. There was complimentary water and refreshing sodas in the room, as well as some coffee and tea.
We particularly liked the beautiful well-kept gardens, the amazing beach and nice pools. We could always find free sunbeds in the shade of the palm trees or near the pools. The beach is also well kept and a walk to the reef on the low tide is a must do experience.
The food was very good and always fresh. I appreciated that, even if there was not a huge variety of dishes, you can always find different dishes from both traditional and international cuisine. We also tried the Thai and Indian a la carte restaurants and everything was just great (for those we should do a reservation first). Fresh coconut water, drinks and snacks were served on the beach and at the beach bars you can serve cocktails and snacks at all time.
Also, I had a relaxing time at the spa, with great service.
Overall, I highly recommend this place!

This hotel lacks all the fine touches that is standard in a true 5 star hotel.

The room: Spacious and little dark, but had mold and strong wood smell, for people that have allergies it becomes a big problem. Bathrooms have mold on tiles and grout.

Common areas: All indoor areas are a little dark, it just doesn’t have enough natural lighting coming in, which is unfortunate since you are on the beach; the yellowish walls and dark trims and dark furniture also doesn’t help. Bathrooms had no paper towel or towels to dry hands. Big beautiful pools.

Restaurants and bars: Service is good. If you choose all-inclusive the liquor is of poor quality and so is wine, it is mainly catered to the beer drinker. The only good thing at breakfast was the omelette, everything else was tasteless. Food here is very mediocre at the main restaurants, much better at the ethnic restaurants if you can get a reservation.

Overall we do not recommend this hotel, specially if you are looking for a 5 star experience, there are so many options in Zanzibar, so save yourself the disappointment and skip this one.

We visited in February it was a family of 4. The hotel grounds are absolutely amazing. The staff are very kind. We had our rooms in the same house. The food was really good. We organised a dinner at the beach and the service was really high level. The wifi was really good everywhere on the hotel premises. There was even wifi at the beach. I had several zoom calls without a problem. The housekeeping staff do real a good job our rooms were cleaned twice each day in the morning and after dinner. They would bring us fresh towels for the beach everyday.
The hotel is located at a low and high tide beach and We really enjoyed the low tide. We saw a variety of stars and animals. Regarding to Covid19 all the staff wear masks. There was nothing to worry about.
Overall I highly recommend this hotel. Amazing food, service, grounds and lovely people.

Check in starts with a cold towel and refreshing drink. But, afterwards, the process takes too long. Too much time filling out paperwork just to get the keys and WiFi password. The property is huge but deceiving. Cabins located all over property; spa is on a hill for sights; one buffet restaurant and three other small restaurants. My friend and I were given a room right by the kid play area and only 1 bed. I would assume, if you work here, you could take one look at the guests and one look at the room assigned and know it’s a mistake. The manager was very apologetic. Although an extra mattress was brought in and we were told we could change rooms next day, we didn’t have the time! Our days were filled w activities that we were just too tired to pack up & move. We were compensated w a late check out. Spa was a perfect way to end the trip. Buffet food was good especially the night entertainment. The beach was beautiful to look at especially in the morning at low tide. Walk out and let the locals educate you on algae snd seaweed. But high tide, the surf was rough. Not many people in the water. Slow service with drinks. Room is very nice but housekeeping needs to pay attention to details: refill soap dispensers, replace all towels. Staff was very nice and patient w language barriers. If you want sights, this hotel is far: THE ROCK is 1 1/2, Safari Blue is 1 15 mins and STONE TOWN is 35 mins or longer given traffic and airport is an hour. I would research and choose a better stay if returning.

We found our stay to be more than pleasant with undivided attention due to the low occupancy of low season. Luckily we did not experience any rain (even though it was rainy season), with sunshine and blue skies everyday.

We tend not to go for all inclusive places as the food standard drops but this is not the case with Neptune, the food was amazing! We stayed at two hotels, Neptune being one and the food was better at the all- inclusive than it was at the ala carte hotel. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy, one night my husband wanted Thai and I wanted Indian and the chefs accommodated for both, the waitress was cute enough to even set up two tables in each restaurant for us to pick from! Normally an all inclusive would limit the drinks in slow service but we found it to be the complete opposite, the bartenders expected our every need as would the service at a top luxury hotel.

As a side note please take lots of physical cash (preferably dollars) , the hotel does not have a card cash facility and the closest ATM is not that close and in a village. Mosquito spray is also a must!

We stayed in one of the suites with a beautiful big bed and jacuzzi with my favorite spot being the day bed on the balcony walking distance from the ocean. The hotel is going under renovations and what they have planned is nothing short of luxury.

One thing I wish I knew before we planned our trip is that they have a sister hotel on the safari area and can arrange a split package between the two properties, if you have the days to do so consider it because Zanzibar itself has very little attractions.

The WiFi was excellent, the service and food are great, the pool is huge and this side of the island has the best ocean to swim in. Overall I really enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend.

We came to this resort as a family of 3, with our daughter who has a milk allergy.

The resort is the perfect size not too big but also not too small. It’s not only so picturesque but so clean and well kept.
The food is excellent. Rana the head chef was incredible with our daughter. In fact, she still speaks about him daily he had that much of an impact on us.
Nothing was too much trouble and we felt safe knowing he would oversee anything she orders etc.

Drinks and service during the day on the beach also was incredible with Juma Simba always around to help.

The hotel is immediately on the beach with plenty of sun loungers that are always available.

Room is a beautifully traditional layout with a large shower and mosquito nets over the beds. The maids do a turn down service in which they come to spray the rooms at night.

The hotel has a lovely games area in which our 10 year old loved going to several times a day. In fact the staff were so lovely they would play games with her, do her hair etc which made our holiday very special.

If anyone is contemplating going to this hotel definitely do it and get it booked. We are well travelled and it ticked every box for us with no critique at all. All staff are just wonderful and we are hoping to come back next August.
