I landed in Carcavelos, cause my friends were staying there already and I had a very positive experience. Sleeping area was clean, as were the bathing facilities. An indoor pool was complimenting the hot sunny weather, so you can chill by the pool, if you're lazy to walk to the ocean. In the evening we had a marvelous bbq session. Space, sunny spots, place to chill: all of this is about Carcavelos. Thank you, guys

I personally really loved this place. It does feel though like it’s really abandoned and needs more attention and care. It’s great house and amazing price. Not far from beach and square where you can have some nice dinners. It has swimming pool to stay in on hot day. And not to many people staying only because of bad advertising it’s not very on demand. It does feel it was a family business that now has moved to restaurant by beach and surfing lessons. Surfing lessons are bad they just do massive group. Not like properly training about water surfboard and standing ups correctly. They make money from people coming to have fun. Breakfast Is simple but nice. It’s great if you have a car as can easily drive around to other places. But even without it we had no trouble to do so. It’s great location and price. I would definitely stay there again. But it does need more attention as in tidy as everything is old and dusty in some places. (Not the inside facilities and rooms, those are clean and tidy) …

Margarida who ran the house was absolutely fantastic. Our flight was delayed over 15 hours meaning our first night of accommodation was not used. Marg sorted it out that we did not pay for this night without even asking and was available for contact at all times to make us feel at ease about the situation. Because there was not many guests staying she left us plenty of nice things for breakfast for us to make ourself and offered us great advice on how to get around and even gave us two cards for the train station. Nothing was too much trouble and she always made sure we had everything we needed. The location itself was not very touristy but we were pointed in the right direction to busier areas. The house was lovely and everyone was friendly - we went in the pool despite it being a bit chilly in may! It gets the sun til at least 6pm. For anyone looking for cheap accommodation that isn't in a busy area but with easy access to tourist areas it is lovely. The shared bathroom situation wasn't a problem and there was always a bathroom available. Thank you Margarida! …

I have been staying with a friend for 5 days this summer while kitesurfing. Barbara is very welcoming and the house is great, clean and nice decoration and perfect for a good nights rest after a day surfing, kitesurfing or just sightseeing. I would recommend it every time

When we arrived in Portugal with a serious delay I immediately got an SMS from Barbara to welcome us and to ask us when we would arrive so that she could be there for us and she really made us feel at home. The Surf House is beautifully decorated and very clean. The next morning we started off with a nice, fresh breakfast with homemade cake and biscuits. We can highly recommend this place.
