Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here in our motohome as our first stop on the nc500 and was welcomed by a lady who took me in her office and told me which pitch we were on and explained the walks etc around the area. Couldn't fault this site great views over the black Isle and a lovely walk along to chanarory Point along the golf course. Also a short walk into the village. Showers and toilets were clean and nice. Would definatley recommend here

We stayed at the Fortrose Bay campsite at the start of our NC500 adventure. It was our first night staying in a campervan and the hosts/owners made us feel welcome and explained everything. The views across the bay were fantastic. The facilities were fairly basic but ok.

Great check in. Great location facing the water. Steward super nice. But the issue is the toilet block (3 ladies toilets) and shower (1 ladies shower) are below par. Yes the water was lovely and warm but the block was unheated in October. There was two other unisex showers in another block but these didn’t look much better. This was such a shame. The high street up the road has a Coop but little else to offer. The CMC site around the bay has better reviews re toilets and showers so may be better to stay at !

Thank you for your review and comments Angela. Glad you enjoyed the views across the bay. You're right, our quirky retro toilet block isn't as new as other sites and our prices reflect that. We do have a modern spacious shower shack that is heated and we pride ourselves on keeping all the facilities clean, as many of our reviews reflect. Hope you had a great holiday. Best wishes, the Fortrose Bay Campsite Crew.

What an amazing place! A lovely welcome, showed to our pitch and then talked through all the amenities and local sites which was really helpful. We booked to stay here as my dad recommended it to us from when he visited with my mum before she passed away. We didn’t want to leave! We had a front pitch right on the beach, amazing views! Our children loved it! Our 16 year old went snorkelling and saw crabs, fish and lobsters, our 7 year old loved helping her brother and was fascinated by all the sea life! We walked and saw the dolphins at Chanory Point and then when we got back to our caravan we could still see the dolphins jumping in the distance! Would highly recommend and already looking to book for a longer stay! Amazing!

Beautiful pitches right on the Moray Firth. We were beachside and the sunset/sunrise we’re just stunning - we were just a day behind the super blue moon it what a sight the moon made over the water! Great spot for dolphin watch, we cycled to Fairy Glen too and walked to the waterfalls. Visited Dornoch from here plus Rogie Falls and the Falls of Shin. All breathtaking. Toilets ok, free microwave in wash up area along with washer/dryer (chargeable) so all in all a great little site x

This camp site is fantastic. The views are superb and the fact that you can see dolphins and seals is amazing. We stayed with friends and it was so peaceful and relaxing. To wake up with amazing views and quiet was the best thing ever. The facilities are good and the shower block is heated.

Very friendly welcome by a staff member, who showed us our pitch. Great views of the sea, nice and quiet atmosphere. Nice village not far from the camp site with a good fish and chips takeaway 8/10 from me. We would recommend Fortrose to anyone.
